Under 6 hours now for me (2d). It was hard getting any work done today, damn excited for this. It's crazy to think that 4 years ago we first saw the beginnings of the Avengers Initiative, and just a few hours from now we get the payoff. So close.

Saw this last night with low to middling expectations and was completely blown away. Have to say, the thing that impressed me the most is that all of the characters came across as pretty much awesome in their own way, even Black Widow

Did not think they'd make it work but they did.

Incredible movie, saw it last night. Loved every minute. They really pulled it off and this is easily the best comic book movie ever made. Also, my face melted at the after-credits scene.

It is 2:30 AM as I type this.
I just got back from watching the Avengers movie
I have but one word to describe it
Epic
...ah screw it. It's a friggin awesome fun movie, I was going in with mild expectations but was just friggin' awed by it, I had a BLAST.
IMHO, Joss Whedon's BEST work to date.
Oh and damnit Tony
I want Shawarma now, gonna go nom on some tomorrow
EDIT: Ugh didn't stay for the after credits scene, can someone please post what it was? (In spoiler tags)

Have to say was let down by this big time. Over hyped. Last 30 mins redeems it, up until then it was a real struggle. Downey JR gets all the best lines and almost all the laughs, but for large parts this movie seems to want to take itself quite seriously despite being, lets face it ridiculous.

No way is Batman not going to be much much better than this.

Felt like Iron Man 3: With friends.

Hulk was hilarious and Hawkeye had very long screen time.

Invasion was yawn inducting and all Nick Fury scenes were just pathetic.

Man, seeing all the Marvel films at the theater again today is fucking amazing. Perfect hype train for the Avengers. They work so much better on a big screen.

Ummm, maybe if all you've ever known is Iron Man?
And the invasion was YAWN INDUCING? That was some of the funnest action i've ever seen.. I also loved Nick Fury, what was pathetic about him?

The movie has about three HUGE set piece events, equal to or better than the CLIMAX of any of the other comic book movie and everybody gets to do cool stuff in them.

Saw it last night in 3D because that's the only option we got at our local cinema.

I was actually impressed with the 3D, though it was the first live action 3D movie that I've seen, so I can't really compare it to others.

The movie was great. I personally don't think it felt like any one character had the main spotlight. Seemed to me like they all got equal screen time which was good. Though I guess Tony did seem like the leader, but that wasn't necessarily bad.

Some parts were just hilarious and totally unexpected, the whole cinema burst out laughing at those parts. Was awesome lol

Some people left the moment the credits began to roll though...I was like "Have you seen the other movies?". Of course most who hadn't left yet stopped what they were doing the moment the after credits section started.

A good fun movie, would see again.

I sort of agree that the Cap (not Rogers) had a weak first few scenes
That wasn't even the biggest issue for me, it was more that they only dipped their toes into the tactical genius aspects of Cap. They should have had a lot more of that, showing off his strategist mind.

He really is (at least in the comics, for the most part) a genius in those regards, assessing the situation in real time in a way that Stark can't, tactically etc. You can show his humanity while still doing that, imo.

Haven't watched a single Avengers trailer.

Haven't watched the Spiderman or Dark Knight Rises trailer.

Tickets are printed for midnight. 3D, Imax, reserved seating... the whole thing.

Nice to see someone going in completely blind given how so many people around here have been unable to resist checking out spoilers. Report back in detail! ;)

They just catched up/followed up the construction from his movie.

He was a smart kid with unbelievable determination and a strong sense of heroism.
He fought like 3 or 4 battles til this movie anyway. :P

Get to work the midnights tonight. Looks like my theater has sold out seven out of fourteen screens, as of now.

Going to see the movie tomorrow afternoon!

Off to dinner with friends and then midnight madness.

I cannot wait to see the Jade Giant. The Green Goliath. For at midnight tonight, HULK WILL SMASH!

Something about the #MarvelMarathon setting is making these films resonate so much stronger with me. LOVING THIS!

I do still wish they had used Thor's goat driven chariot instead of a horse on the trip through Asgard to Heimdal's guard. And needed to see the Ravens as well.

Odin got his proper horse.

so apparently my awesome IMAX theater is still going to be showing Wrath of the Titans instead of Avengers. So now my question is...to watch in 2D or 3D?

It only seems fitting that I put this shirt on for the first time in years before I go to the movie tonight. Yes, I am a nerd.

This just makes me realize how its kind of perfect that Marvel Studios doesn't have the X-Men or Spidey rights. Wolverine and Spidey would steal all of Stark's swag.

Nearly pissed myself as it was so long. Pre film coffee was a mistake!

Good film, I wasnt hugely impressed with the Hulks "persona" I prefer the "fuck up everything in sight" version but the film has to have limits!

Its bloody good considering what its done though, my GF loved it. Cant help but feel Blackwidow seems so out of place though

Iron man 3 please! RDJ is too good as him.

I can't believe my wife and I, both age 27, are the only people dressed up for the all day Marvel marathon. Damn you Arkansas nerds!

I love when that happens in theaters, everyone awkwardly standing waiting for the movie to be over. :lol

How did you do this? You must teach me. PLEASE!

Got my tickets at Saturday for 2:00 PM...hey it's what you can do when you want to see it with your wife (does not want opening night craziness, which I tend to love)and you have family watching your 4 month old. :)

Accidentally bought senior tickets...luckily the price is still the same so I suspect little issue, still feel silly.

Seeing it in 2D. Also 9 bucks for a regular ticket is so much nicer than NYC prices...which for a 2D screening would be $13, 3D $17, and 3D Imax $19!

Still kind of want to sneak out and see it tonight at midnight...despite having work or take a long ass lunch break on Friday. lol

Damn, I'm going to see this in two hours, only got 3 hours of sleep last night and I'm so tired. I'm also incapable of taking naps. :(

But I'm very excited so maybe that will keep me up.

Saw Cap with friends on Tues; came home and promptly saw Thor for the first time at home, dug it.

AND NOW WE ARE 3H AWAY FROM THE MOVIE CONCEPT WHOSE EXISTENCE SEEMED UNTHINKABLE.

Fuck, I'm pumped.

Scotiabank theatre in Toronto is strangely not doing IMAX3D for this. :(

AVX 3D instead, which promises to be pretty sweet, at least. Reserved seating ftw.
