Why are you so sure? I mean, that's a pretty specific scene

While it's a possibility, I think it's a stretch that Joss took it from a CG promo Marvel did years ago. Joss knows his characters, their power sets and how they move in tandem because he is a comic book guy. So I could see detailing all the moves, choreography in his script.

fuck! The real Imax in fort lauderdale doesn't have Avengers only the fake one out west. How did DARK SHADOWS get preferred treatment???

Same here, except its Wrath of the Titans. Not sure why Avengers isnt getting a wide IMAX release. Every digital IMAX seems to have Avengers though.

I got to give Marvel Studios props for linking all their movies together to give high anticipations towards The Avengers movie. Hype is through the roof and is setting records in other multiple countries, there is no doubt that the opening BO numbers will shatter records here in the U.S as well.

I just realised how much the opening of this movie reminds me of
Buffy's season 7 finale, where Buffy runs along the house rooftops as Sunnydale sinking into the ground. I remember that scene being so spectacular when I saw it for the first time despite it being shot for TV.
Joss sure knows how to direct big-time action sequences.

Anyone know a good way to avoid small movie screens? I assume for rush traffic they send you to the larger halls but I'm hoping to catch it earlier in the day and early friday should not have too much of a rush. If the screening is listed as digital (DLP) does that mean it has to be a normal sized screen?

Its pg-13 though, an 11 year old should be fine, right?

When it comes to questions like this, I can only recommend the parent seeing the film first by themselves. If they find it suitable then take them. Personally, whilst I don't feel this particular scene is suitable for young children, the movie as a whole is.

Come on, a child will not be corrupted by The Avengers.

The scene in question, without names of characters. THE TEMPTATION OF READING THIS WILL NOT BE WORTH IT.

X thrusts a large blade/sword through Y through their back. It's a shock, gory scene. Loads of blood. It's's a side shot of Y, blade enters from the right on the screen, exists on the left.

I was not ready for that.

I just came back from watching it.... there are no words to describe how fucking AMAZING this movie is.

One thing though, I need the Hulk
roar that wakes Iron Man up for my alarm sound.

That? Eh, I thought that was tame. I was, however, squirming in my seat during the
eyeball stabbing scene with Loki
. Yikes.
