I guess we now know why Brad is leaving Giant Bomb - he's going to be a full-time NPC in the Elder Scrolls Online...

That really does look like him... is it photoshopped?
No.

Yeah, when I think of an MMO ES game, I think Skyrim but with tons of players in the world.

Minus the horrible monthly fee.

I don't think a good MMO will ever be made at this rate. I love the concept but they're always horrible and the monthly fee are an instant no no.

The only thing that's given me an ounce of interest in Elder Scrolls Online is the use of the Hero Engine. I'm curious to see if the engine itself is completely unfit for purpose, or if Bioware just had completely incompetent programmers working on SWTOR.

Wait til PSO2 is out :)

Interesting.. A lot of people in the ESO thread feel the exact opposite.

"Drank a whole case of Fanny on the weekend!"

"From the fiiine makers of cunt" ."wooaaaah woaaaaaah"

Lol, totally forgot about this part of the bomcast.

TNT was awesome and I actually liked the fact that they had nothing planned. They probably should have turned notification sounds off, but going down their list of messages and randomly picking games was great. Also having everyone logged in sorta guaranteed that accepting invites and downloading games would be simple. If you don't understand why some people still prefer Live, despite the pay wall, then you are daft.

Watching the TNT and quicklook for Awsomenauts... Ryan is really bad at this game. He keeps investing everything into that stupid bull, except it doesn't seem to do any damage, it's just a knockback.

wish they wouldn't talk about the IRA so lightly. its been a few times now that they made jokes about it and talk as if its just harmless politics or something, hell it even sounds like they are vaguely supportive, or at least not condemning them from the way they talk about them.

if bombings and shootings like the ones that happened here had happened in the US I don't think they would be talking about them as if they were just poor harmless people wanting independence.

Just started watching last night's TNT from the start...

I just love this site so much. Vinny and Drew cracked me up so much, hahahaa
Not to mention Jeff rubbing his nose on Ryan.

For what it's worth, when I mentioned Sinn Fein I was thinking about the original movement for independence in the early 20th century (been reading about that a bit lately). I forgot they've also been active in any capacity more recently. That kind of violence is obviously no laughing matter.

It's kind of a weird thing, though, socially speaking. I mean jokes about the Nazis are pretty common these days. Hitler is portrayed as a somewhat comical, dumbass character. All of those Youtube edits of the film Der Untergang where Hitler rages over being banned from XBox Live, the Patriots losing the Superbowl, etc. It's an extremely grim topic but it's become socially acceptable to make light of it. Seinfeld went as far as cracking jokes about Schindler's List. This goes all the way back to the 60's TV show Hogan's Heroes, in which the Nazi camp guards were portrayed as somewhat affable dopes. Or the classic Fawlty Towers episode 'The Germans.'

Another example, one I see on GAF almost daily is how we talk about North Korea. There are constant jokes being made about how it's "Best Korea" and that Kim Jong Il was some kind of lovable mope who just liked to have pictures of himself taken staring at things. Or that he likes to sing about how ronery he is. When in reality the DPRK is a country that has enslaved its people, murders dissidents (and their families) without hesitation, and even tests chemical weapons on people.

There's a saying that "comedy equals tragedy, plus time" and maybe that's true. My point is just that while I understand why you do not like seeing the turmoil in Northern Ireland being made light of, this sort of way of addressing bad things with humor seems to be part of human nature.
