I want this:

What about the Hulk with Captain America's shield, Thor's hammer, and a specially made Iron Man suit?

This could work on the big screen where Captain America and Iron Man (perhaps other Avengers) have fallen to Thanos and Thor musters up what strength he has left to fight alongside Hulk against Thanos. They could even have Thor/Hulk winning for a bit until they both practically lose when Captain America is capable of coming to and grabbing the hammer to hit Thanos with it. All cliche, but it would have an impact with audiences.

If you want to have audiences have a HOLY SHIT moment and also show that you do not fuck with Thanos, have Thanos put Hulk down FAST at the beginning of the fight.

I honestly hope that IM/Cap get into a fight during Avengers 2 about bringing in SHIELD and leads to a division of the Avengers into WCA and normal Avengers. Woudl be a great way to help get more member involved.

EDIT: Read Hickman's Ultimate and Spencer's UXM but Spencer's is much better as a TPB. But Hickman's is awesome.

Edgy and XTREME! Seriously, its shock value with no substance except for the first series written by Bendis.

Good way to put it. Lots of really neat action beats, but the characters are just pale, assholish shadows of their true selves.

Sounds lame. I'll take story over pure, senseless action any day, in any medium.
Marvel marketing machine strikes again... Just bought a certain pair of sunglasses.

I must admit, I do love them so.

What kind and how much?

True. That would be a telling moment from the film. Since Iron Man already had his "moment" in Avengers 1, Captain America or Thor should get the call in 2.

I honestly don't even know the context of that Thor pic I posted, or even that it came from the Ultimate universe. I've just always thought it was a pretty awesome picture.

Wife and I going to see it again on saturday, I can't stop thinking about the movie. It really sucks that there's no game, I'm itching to play a good marvel game. Might just pick up the Ultimate Alliance games on the cheap so I can play as all these guys together.

I really do think that Thor and Cap 2 are going to be much bigger movies than the first ones, though I do not understand the release date timing for either movie. Especially Cap in early april......

Oakley Split Jacket in matte black with red positive iridium lenses. Price? Let's say about a new PS3 slim...

...the moment I start building a replica of Hawkeye's uniform, someone Hulk ragdoll throw me. Please, my wallet can't take the abuse.

As will I. I'm curious to see how it does this weekend, seeing as a lot of people are planning on seeing it again this Friday and weekend.
Yeah, I'm definitely going again someday this weekend (probably not Saturday), and if anybody in South Florida wants to go I'd be willing to drive up to 20ish miles to an inconvenient theater to geek out with another one of you about it.

I do believe they want to avoid putting Cap 2 against Amazing Spider-Man 2. Plus Disney is releasing their Pixar film that month, too.

They should have gone with the Fourth of July weekend for Cap, but Transformers 4 is set for a week before:

Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for May 2, which is why they didn't go for the same week as The Avengers.

Is it too much to ask for a Captain America movie to open on July 4th? Really!?

EDIT: Beaten. Still. Bullshit that Cap can't get a fucking 4th of July weekend release. It is downright un-American.

Ultimate Alliance on the PC is a fucking ludicrous gem. I wish it weren't so dated now, but LOOK AT ALL THESE FUCKING CHARACTERS YOU CAN IMPORT: http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=399.0

LOOK AT THEM

Those glasses are pretty awesome, so I still say it's money well spent.

*brofist*

They are definitely one of the coolest pairs I've seen. Also, when X2 came out, I wanted Cyclops' Oakleys for the longest time but since I was a broke student, no way I could buy them. This time around with Hawkeye's sunglasses, I wasn't gonna miss my chance. Just wish they were actually featured in the movie rather than in promo shots.

All my IMAX theatres in the area are switching to that Depp vampire movie on Friday. Bet they regret that "must put WB movies on IMAX on release" deal.

Except WB and Disney made a deal where they share Dark Shadows and Avengers in IMAX theaters.

Damn you Captain America.

Just as glasses by themselves, even without the Avengers bump, they just look really awesome. If I wasn't currently a broke student I'd pick up a pair as well.

I think I will go see it in IMAX tomorrow. I've only seen one film in IMAX ad that was Matrix Revolutions.

I was thinking about doing that as well, but this weekend. Never been to an IMAX show before. What should I expect?

Tell it straight, who should be credited more for the action sequences in Avengers, the technical directors at ILM or Joss Whedon? :P

I don't know about specifics, but I'd expect it would have gone as any other show would. The director comes in with storyboards and/or previs of each sequence, work with the supervisors to figure out what's feasible and what would need tweaking to make it work better, and then various artists go and build shots, they get reviewed in dailies by the whole team for feedback, shots are tweaked, repeat until director review who then gives his feedback - this can cover anything, from framing of the shot, to movement of the background elements, to how something is animated, lighting, etc. This process repeats until we get to the point where we think a shot is final, and the director reviews those and either signs off on the final or kicks it back for further tweaking. In the end, we're a service organization for-hire - the director always has the final call.

So for overall direction, Whedon. For building each shot and executing on the intended vision, the various VFX vendors.

Speaking of artists in the trenches, XiaNaphryz, do you have any idea if this Lethal Weapon-quoting previs guy was with ILM or with Marvel?
ILM traditionally doesn't do a lot of previs in-house, so it wasn't us.

Do you know if it's true IMAX?

If so, expect the biggest screen you've ever seen and stunning visual clarity+overwhelming surround sound. If it's what's called "LieMAX," expect great quality above the normal theater experience and very good 7.1 surround.

Expect great sound and high prices.

"True IMAX" does not show Avengers. Digital aka LieMAX only
