Chris Hemsworth's body is amazing. When I first saw Thor and he walked out without his shirt, you could hear the shocked gasps from the audience.

commentary talked about it. iirc, Branagh said he worked out 3 months and when they asked him to do that scene, he jumped on it cuz he wanted to show off all that hard work.

I'm straight as an arrow, but come the fuck on.

"There's only one God and he doesn't look like that"

God not perfect confirmed.

Is 3D still "big" these days? I'm honestly curious to know if it's still financially successful, or is it going the way of the dodo bird, like it should? (So we have more open theaters for real movies, and we don't have to worry about bullshit like the lens cap being too dark in 2D movies due to incompetence.)

thankfully, it's on the decline from what i read.

Chris Evans in that punch bag scene is boss looking.

I have boxing class 3 times per week. In reality, boxing is anything but boss-looking. Instead you'll be sweating like a pig and your heartbeat feels like it's about to burst. It burns A LOT of calories though.

I'm so sick of 3D. I'm thinking of skipping 3D for Prometheus, which I know is probably not a good idea since the film was shot in 3D, yes? But I hate the stupid glasses and I hate how the film looks darker than usual. I'm not sure if there'll be a 2D screening of Prometheus though.

Yeah but he's Cap. I wonder if he even needs to work out. Does the serum keep him super fit forever?

I think 3D should stay. It looks really good when done properly (Avatar) and horrible when not (just about everything else) as a rule if the movie has been converted to 3D in post-production it's going to end up looking like shit. If it's filmed with 3D cameras it's most likely going to end up looking really good.

Good, and I say skip on the 3D, Replicant. Use the money to get some Snow Caps or something. Hopefully Hollywood gets this shit out of their system soon, like they do every 50 years or so, and hopefully we'll all be dead by the time they try and reboot 3D again; or maybe by that time 3D will be what is actually supposed to be, meaning no glasses, and the images actually pop-out of the screen instead of just tricking your eyes. It sounds far-fetched, but in 30 years? Anything can happen.

Wasn't he just punching bags to alleviate his frustration for being 70+ Year Old VIRGIN? So yes, I assume he doesn't need to exercise much. Also, I haven't read the comics but does Cap eventually got lucky?

To go against the grain a little...I'd recommend 3D IMAX.

Why? Because amazing sound systems can take a movie from 10 to 11...and this movie easily benefits from an amazing sound system.

3D is gigantic with worldwide audiences, ie the biggest growth in the last few years.

3D isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I'm fairly sure he rubbed nasties with Nat one time.

Then again Black Widow goes around. Like, a lot.

They could've done wonders for his movie character by not having the entire war be a montage. No doubt he got lucky...he was like, the biggest star in the world. A couple R&R scenes...something.

But Captain America is supposed to be a boy scout, plus 1940's values and all that.

He's been involved with Sharon Carter, Peggy Carter's niece, for some time. She's an ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. secret agent and currently a member of the Secret Avengers team.

yeah...with the babes great niece or something, he basically gets to run thru the family lol. Sharon Carter is an agent of shield oft paired up with steve on his more covert missions. In the comics he was in the war for the full duration so im sure he got to smash Peggy at least once. Theres a comic about this somewhere in brubakers run.

Reading "Ultimates 1" and the Cap in that comic is awesome. Immediately cooler than movie Cap.

Movie Cap is like a 15 year old boy scout with muscles.
Comic Cap is like a perfectly trained super marine.

...confirming that Movie Cap sucks!

...

Edit: All you folks that keep thinking that Thanos was someone else are crazy. I haven't followed comics ever, but collected the cards...and immediately it was obvious that it was Thanos. I didn't know what that meant or what he could do, but I knew that it was Thanos.

the hell are you talking about, Cap was a soldier at war. He was a boy scout and planned to marry peggy after the war. No one said he was perfect, thats the allure of the character, the guy who just wanted to do his part became bleepin captain america.

I still wonder why they didn't have Cap go and find Peggy as an old lady after he woke up. It'd be all tragic and full of drama or something.

Respectfully disagree, making France surrender joke killed any chance of me ever liking Ultimate Cap.

Just got around to seeing this. I don't read comics and have only seen a few "comic movies". HOLY SHIT that was a great movie. Best comic, action, alien movie all in one. Just fucking wow! Also the best picture quality I've ever seen in a theater. Mind blown!
Fun stuff. That's all.

I really dug this scene in the final film, even after it was featured in the Captain America film. The flashbacks made the scene intense, and everyone laughed at the five extra bags on the floor after he breaks the heavy bag.

The movie Cap does really suck, but if you want to see the best iteration of the character, you should read Brubaker's run on the Captain America comic. Ultimate Cap is a bit of a fucking dick.
