Sakurai got caught sneaking into PlatinumGames' studio

A study as small as sora can not make a game like Smash themselves. They need more people working on the project. If I remember well a lot of GameArts developers worked in the Wii Smash Bros Game beacuse Miyamoto recommended that studio.
People from Project Sora, Paon, HAL, GameArts and Monolith worked on smash according to wikipedia.

Doesn't it make more sense that Kamiya has been working on Bayo 2, and it got canceled?

Now that Sega has allegedly dropped the title, it would make a lot of sense for Nintendo to swoop in and make it a Wii U exclusive.

In any case, whether it be Bayonetta or Star Fox, I'm in...(though this whole thing is probably just Sakurai being Sakurai).

Let's just drop all the pretenses already.

I'm in a dream. This is me dreaming right now...

If PG does end up making a StarFox game for the Wii U... FUCK.

When has PG ever made and old bullet hell game?

that Bayonetta demake is a hoax.
No, I just said that I don't want Starfox to be like that. Somehow whenever I hear people say "Make it like Sin & Punishment or Kid Icarus!" they want it to be as hard and as frenetic.

Platinum are good devs but I don't think they share the approach to accessibility that Nintendo has. Maybe I'm wrong though, seeing as maybe I might play their games on Wii U.

I'd be OK with whatever they come up with...pretty good track record from both parties, commitment to quality is there....

Yep, I'd like to see whatever comes out of this.

I don't usually do this, but irrational exuberance is fun so let's go crazy with this.

Kamiya, a man whose resume includes: Resident Evil 2, Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and Bayonetta is working on Star Fox. Retro Studios is working on something awesome. EAD Tokyo is working on a new 3D Mario. And the brunt of EAD Kyoto is working on Miyamoto's new IP and Pikmin 3. How does that sound Nintendo fans?

As I said in the other Star Fox topic...

...even if a new game wasn't the "HD update to Star Fox 64" (which would be my first want), I would be interested in seeing what Retro, or even Kamiya and P* could do, if they were given the green light to make another "Adventures/Assault" Star Fox game. Especially Kamiya, though. That guy has proven time and time again that he could probably make such a game that does the rail shooter aspects of Star Fox justice, while injecting an action-adventure element that wouldn't be such a "throw-away" either.

If such a thing was the "something wonderful" Kamiya was working on, I wouldn't mind at all...

Good point. I suppose they could do an Easy Automatic deal like Bayonetta, but that's all hypothetical.

Much much much rather Platinum than Retro.

Star Fox 64 is my favorite Nintendo game. A PG developed successor directed by Kamiya who has alot of respect and passion for the title would be a dream pairing.

and likely it will remain as such since this is probably nothing.

Already got them making a Cyborg Ninja metal gear game can't have everything

Oh yeah

Sakurai doesn't even work at Nintendo

Sora Ltd is freelance is it not?

No it's not.

EDIT: Yes it is. I got confused.

But the implication that Sakurai will go 'third party' with anything any time soon is less likely than a Nintendo/Platinum partnership.

Sakurai's rule of third party Smash characters: They have to have appeared on a Nintendo system.

Of Platinum's main characters, only Jack applies.
Ah yes, and at one time it was reasonable to think only Nintendo characters would appear in Smash. Point being, things change. But yeah, I don't think Sakurai's appearance at Platinum Games is about anything in particular, though certainly it would be nice if Nintendo and Platinum collaborated on something... like, oh, my dream Sheik spin-off game that fused MGS steath, Prince of Persia platforming and Bayonetta combat. <3

"I want Nintendo's staff to come to Platinum, stick guns at us and tell us 'You guys make a new Star Fox'," stated Kamiya after learning that Nintendo developer Shigeru Miyamoto has expressed a desire for a brand new Star Fox title.

Does this mean he doesn't or does want to make it?

How does Kamiya feel about EVA?

"Chozo-a-go-go, baby!" :lol
The baby..... teeheehee :D
Metroid Other M 2, by Platinum Games would be awesome, though i think we will have to wait a long time before that happens.

Well, Kamiya loves them.

Then again, I guess he's only suppose to make what you like?

Of course not, he is free to make what he is passionate about. I wouldn't want him to continue making action games for the sake of it and the quality to suffer for it. It's just my personal opinion that I'd like to see a Bayo 2 (since he supposedly was already working on it) first before he moved to something on rails.

Apologies if it came off as anything other than just a random personal opinion.

edit: and as long as it doesn't end up like this

Just in case anyone actually fell for this little piece of viral marketing... you can't "sneak into" Platinum's offices. They're in a big, secure high-rise and you need to go through multiple layers of security (and a Michael Jackson exhibit) just to get to an elevator.

So what does this mean...?

Clearly this means that Platinum Games is the developer for the forthcoming Smash Bros. games, much like GameArts was for Brawl.

At this time and a pic focusing on the logo, that's not innocent.
But that Sakurai is also friend with everyone, is he just playing... the pic on the studio name still seems the important fact.

Something is a brewing and probably has been ever since Kamiya made this statement some time ago:

Kamiya said:
I want Nintendo's staff to come to Platinum, stick guns at us and tell us 'You guys make a new Star Fox'.

With Nintendo stating that they had "surprising collaborations" underway for the Wii U (during the 2011 Investor Roundtable) Anything is possible.

Here's to hoping.

Means you seem pretty familiar with the place. :o

Peacock confirmed for new Smash developed by Platinum?

Are we talking court house security or what
