I'll give you the first one and I already mentioned the second one but I'm sorry, the third and fourth aren't the type of detective work I'm talking about.

Running a search via Brother Eye isn't detective work, he's just scanning for something to move the plot forward. A techie/hacker in another film could do that (Kevin Smith in Die hard 4 comes to mind). I want to see the World's Greatest Detective do a little more "detecting" than that.

Fourth is, like you've said, essentially a google search.

A detective is just someone who uses what he's given or finds to solve crimes. All 4 of those are that.

Sounds more like you just want researching scenes, which is fine but you only need to show that once or twice in a movie to get the point across that he does research to solve these crimes, which I think the bullet reconstruction does.

I want something that show's that Bruce/Batman is clever beyond the tech that he gets through Wayne Industries. In any mystery these days there is a certain amount of problem solving that is done with tech, but the best ones add a healthy dose of intuition and smarts in the mix. I don't feel like we get that in TDK.

To be honest, there hasn't been one Batman film that has done a good job of showing off his detective skills so I'm not just picking on the Nolan stuff. It's not necessarily that easy to do with the character when there is a certain expectation to see him in action more than just piecing together a mystery.

Batman is a genius detective. So please start doing genius detective stuff (using his mind, not his money to lightly irradiate money)

Doesn't he have to use his mind to realize that you can irradiate money so that you can trace it's movement without the mob finding out (or wouldn't have found out until dirty cops told them)?

I'd like to think the joker found out too. Sending his plan into motion before the cops

"Lightly irradiated money. Fancy stuff for a new york cop" (Dent to Gordon)

This implies the technique had already existed at higher levels of law enforcement. So I dunno.

I did some detective work on Google.

Some rare behind the scenes pics from Begins. I love how different each of these movies look.

Love this stuff. Always get excited to see behind the scenes pics. I especially love when I see some from TDK, since it seems to be so rare. Are we ever getting another documentary on the making of that film, or is the footage basically out there? I thought if anything, they would release one right before TDKR releases with a TDK re-release. There's just not enough on the set with The Joker, but I remember hearing Heath wasn't comfortable with behind the scenes stuff being on set as he performed in this role.

Yup, I was hoping for some behind the scenes featuring the Joker. Hopefully when they release the trilogy boxset they put it on there.

There's a trilogy art book coming out in July.

Christopher Nolan's Batman: The Art and Making of the Dark Knight Trilogy

In 2005, director Christopher Nolan redefined the Batman legend with Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader. A fresh, dynamic reboot of the franchise, Batman Begins explored the comic book hero’s origins and his evolution from billionaire Bruce Wayne to dark avenger who fights crime and corruption in Gotham City. A 2008 sequel, The Dark Knight, took those compelling, character-driven foundations and raised the stakes, pitting Batman against a deranged master criminal, the Joker, in an all-out war for Gotham’s soul. Now, the final film of Nolan’s trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, is 2012’s most anticipated film release.

Christopher Nolan’s Batman: The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy tells the complete behind-the-scenes story of these three monumental films. Based on in-depth interviews with Nolan and all of the films’ key cast and crew—including cowriters David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, cinematographer Wally Pfister, and more—the book reveals the creative process behind the epic Dark Knight Trilogy, supported by lavish art and never-before-seen photography.

304 pages, so it should have lots of stuff.

Oh yeah, "Dark Knight Trilogy".

Get ready for The Dark Knight Begins in November, Solo. Just accept it now, it'll make it easier.

Ehh, that's really a wasted opportunity given some of the possible titles they could have: The Bat Knight, The Darkman Rises, Knightman Begins, Rises The Darkman Knight Begins (with a Yoda cameo)

Thanks for reminding me of the reactions to The Dark Knight Rises, where people recommended some of the worst titles instead.

Shadow of the Bat!

I don't know why but I feel really confident this is gonna best TDK for me.

I'm really looking forward to the part where Bruce prepares his comebacks, since I loved the training with the League of Shadows part in Batman Begins and the motifs behind it.

Anyone who has watched Hardy in Bronson knows the true caliber of his acting, and although Bane is not as colorful a character, I reckon Nolan took that into consideration and prepared even cleverer and more interesting plot events with Bane's intelligence as "an excuse" that supports just that.

The color palette of this movie, even though I haven't seen many pictures and scenarios, seems to be more to my liking than TDKs.

A bigger focus on Batman (compared with TDK) will only serve the movie too, imo. Besides, any movie with the main character in a walking-stick is a winner for sure.

One thing about tdk movies by nolan is that all his films dont ever try to force the movies emotion on you it lets the viewer have their own emotion on scenes especially the ending

The scene of Bruce and Alfred talking on the plane in Begins has some interesting stuff if TDKR is really about coming full circle.

Edit: Yes I am watching Begins right now.

Since they're doing flashbacks again for TDKR based on some of the casting, I hope Bruce's dad gets one more run.

Then again, it'll be weird because the Young Bruce actor is like 18 now and I don't want to see another Young Bruce.

Didn't think of that. But yeah I was going to ask to be spoiled here: has Bruce's dad been seen on the sets or something? Just a simple yes or no.

It's cool. Eight years have passed in the universe so it'll balance out.

no

I could imagine them reusing some flashbacks from Begins when Bruce is down that giant well, depends how subtle they want to make it.
