That's not a bad call, I'll give it a think.
I'm still keen on the 690 but I was originally told the 4th, when that rolled around I got pushed back to today and today I hear 'maybe the 16th' so I called time on the date carousel. I'll see if I can deal direct with EVGA from the UK somehow, but I'll wait till the 'burned fingers' feeling wears off a bit.
Respect.A few more pics....

Are there any reviews out there or... Specifications for the ASUS 690 GTX? I'm about to pull the trigger on them since they're available but... I need to know more about those cards.
So I was testing my evga 670 in battlefield 3 and my nvidia drivers crashed. This happened two times when exiting the game and one time during a load screen. Precision x had the temps up to around 83ish during a heavy load. I also noticed load screens were much longer than before(around a minute or longer) I did not see any artifacts while playing.
Im not really sure what to do about this, I completely got rid of all traces of amd drivers. I'm starting to think it is my power supply.
Specs
i5 2500k @ 4.2 ghz
EVGA 670 w/ driver version 301.34
8gb ddr3
Corsair 520w psu(I was told it would be enough by quite a few people, ran my 5850 well enough as well)
corsair m4 ssd
Thanks for any help guys.
Is a 520W psu really enough for a 670 though? I thought I read somewhere it alone takes more than half of that.
I ask cause I wanted to get one and I have 550W
Drivers just crashed again immediately after exiting path of exile beta. It was near 80 degrees as soon as the gameplay started.

While 80 degrees is warm, it shouldn't be causing crashing. Most modern video cards can run well into the 90s before artifacting/crashing. Obviously that's not good, and obviously lower temps (lower than ~90 and your ~83) would be better. But I don't think it's temps that are causing your crashes. Just a hunch.

Do you think its could be an insufficient power supply or faulty card? Also, is there a better way to monitor gpu temps then alt tabbing and looking at precision x?
All 690's are the same regardless of manufacturer. Nvidia is not allowing any vendors to do any changes to the card. So one 690 from one company is the same as another 690 from another company. The only company so far to get away with ANYTHING is Gigabyte and the only they did was add a Gigabyte log on the card itself, which according to Nvidia this was a no-no.
Yes. Go into precision and click on the gears icon at the top. Under monitoring you can click on whatever you want to be displayed on the screen. For example, I have it showing me Power Usage, Temp, Fan %, Core Mhz.
If you need help, let me know I will be up for a while.
Do you have to have an EVGA/Nvidia card to use precision X or will it work on any card? Is there something to display temperature hud overlay for AMD cards?
I too desire a better way to check my GPU temp then quitting the game and pulling up GPU-Z or whatever ASAP
2x690 gtx
Just did a quick play of The Witcher 2
I played with everything on the highest except for ubersampling. The card was hovering around 80-85 degrees while playing and maintaining 60fps. No artifacts during gameplay, but the drivers crashed moments after exiting the game.
The drivers also crashed again as I typed the message. Red squares(artifacts?) popped on my screen before the crash. My card idles at 40 degrees, matching the tomshardware chart.

Ive only had one crash with a game loaded so far, and that was on a loading screen. It seems to consistently crash after the game is closed.
Finally got hold of my 7950 today after ordering it two weeks ago. All Royal Mail's fault of course, but Amazon sending £300 of card via an untraceable service didn't help. Looks like it'll be going straight back to them too, having read the 670 reviews this morning.![]()
Seems like I ordered my Asus 670 just in time yesterday. Prices at the store I ordered already rose to 445 and 465 euro (from the 419 I ordered my 670 TOP at).
I could order it in germany for 413, but as there is no estimated arrival or delivery time I just can wait until the prices drop.
Noticed the same, it was 419 earlier. I am now waiting for it to drop at least to 399, and then might be tempted to order.
So I just had a look on the ASUS facebook page. It seems that it could be available next week. Oneuser is saying the 16., the other one talked to Alternate and he will receive his on monday. (but that could be the non-TOP).
They ship to the UK?I could order it in germany for 413, but as there is no estimated arrival or delivery time I just can wait until the prices drop.

*update on my crashing evga 670*
I setup my fan to run faster when the temps start to rise and the card didnt go above 65 degrees my Witcher 2 test. The drivers still crashed, this time during the game and red squares popped up right before it happened.
Probably time to rma it.
