Damn you Blizzard!

My girlfriend, showing her awesome side, showed up with her laptop after work this evening so that she could give Diablo 3 a go with me.

Needless to say I was stunned, I expected I would be longingly looking at the box all night waiting for tomorrow evening in order to have a go.

So I fish out a guest pass and get everything rolling, ready to let the lord of terror claim yet another innocent soul .... but no, Blizzard decide the servers are full and my girlfriends rather awesome gesture turns into a fleeting one

Now I probably will have to wait until tomorrow after all ....

Try it without...there's no reason to turn it on until there are two skills from the same tree you want or you'd like to mix up your hotkeys. Just get comfortable with it and when you're really ready to dig into the customization options, flip the switch.

If one should expect a semi decent launch from one company, it should be fuckin Blizzard. With all the resources these guys have, you'd think they would be more prepared and equipped to deal with such situations. Am I supposed to believe that they didn't expect this kind of traffic? Maximizing their profits at the expense of user experience.

Gives you more details on the exact damage and stuff for the skill.

Use Elective if you want to choose what abilities you use. Normal just adds them as you unlock.

You want the enhanced tooltips otherwise you don't really know what the abilities do. It just has a description but doesn't really clarify how much extra damage etc.

I just realized, I am still "playing" the game. But my progress probably won't be saved if the server is down.

Uh... I think as long as you can interact with things (which means you're sending/receiving data from the server) then your progress is automatically saved.

I think they mentioned having an enchanter at one point, but that was long ago in pre-beta days. There doesn't seem to be a way to enchant items at the moment. Item enchantment also decreases the impact of random loot, so there's that.

Yeah, thats how it works. All separate for each zone.

I think the only real benefit for users is that they can have the same character for online and offline. Otherwise this shit sucks,.

See, I don't get this argument. There's no actual offline mode, the game requires you to be online in order to play. How's this different from creating a battle net character in D2 and playing on your own.
