Fuck this shit. Not only I can¡'t play the game but the client has triggered a memory dump on a laptop that I bought last week.

Seriously, fuck this shit.

Damn you Blizzard!

My girlfriend, showing her awesome side, showed up with her laptop after work this evening so that she could give Diablo 3 a go with me.

Needless to say I was stunned, I expected I would be longingly looking at the box all night waiting for tomorrow evening in order to have a go.

So I fish out a guest pass and get everything rolling, ready to let the lord of terror claim yet another innocent soul .... but no, Blizzard decide the servers are full and my girlfriends rather awesome gesture turns into a fleeting one :(

Now I probably will have to wait until tomorrow after all ....

There was an argument earlier that launch issues are inevitable and acceptable because fully servicing demand right at launch requires an absurd amount of capacity that would be a total waste of money after the first day or so.

Guess what--it's time to start factoring An Absurd Amount Of Capacity That Is A Total Waste of Money After The First Day into the budget for these things.

Watching Giant Bomb play D2 while playing D3 makes me realize the real lack of blood in D3.

I'm pretty sure you can play if you have a hardcore character, guys.

If only there were some kind of way to rent the capacity needed, perhaps using the millions of dollars in pre-order money...

"The next mother fucker who talks shit about my company is getting one right between the eyes!"

now it's not even connecting to the battle.net servers :loloolololol

Got to play for 3 hours. Took the time to read text and fully explore every area I reached. Only 10 but did some crafting as well. So far the game gets a 9/10 from me.

We will see what happens when game is back up.

If one should expect a semi decent launch from one company, it should be fuckin Blizzard. With all the resources these guys have, you'd think they would be more prepared and equipped to deal with such situations. Am I supposed to believe that they didn't expect this kind of traffic? Maximizing their profits at the expense of user experience.

Hey do you guys have any performance issues?
I know my PC can run this game flawlessly at 1080p and most of the time it does; but sometimes the frames drop to around 40 and I don't know why. I'm using D3DOverrider and Vsync off. All settings high.

Specs:
Core i5 2500K OC
ATI HD6870 1GB
4GB DDR3 1600 Mhz

I have the same setup except 2600k and 8 gb, and the only problem I saw was some tearing so I put on vsync in the opening trailer and haven't looked back.

lol and i remember protecting blizzard, saying there's no chance they're gonna fuck up this launch (I used the WotlK/Cata/SC2-argument). Oh boy was I wrong.

Garbage.

yeah I got shit on for saying that in the beta thread...(that they would fuck it up) not gonna complain though...cost me $0. so I hopefully get to play some more tonight... Blizz is Blizz they make great games....letting the customers play them is something else.

Are we going through the same world o_O

Pretty sure we are, this is comparing what I'm currently playing with what I'm currently watching. I've had a good 4 hours on this character and I have yet to see anything that has impressed/repulsed me like D2 did/does.

I see. Ok gonna close D3D and turn Vsync on ingame and in the driver. Hopefully that will fix it.

Wow, Yoshi you are so popular that one of my coworker sent the Joystiq article about you to everybody in the office hahahaha.

How can I get a guest pass for my friend? He wants to test out the game to see if it'll run on his laptop. I've already bought the game but not sure how I can get a pass for him.

Edit: Ah, so you don't get it with the digital version of the game...
