Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

At work right now, are the servers still acting up?
In about 5 hours, would I be able to play the game?

Glad I got to play a little last night...

Also I'm at like 250 damage (on my character sheet) unbuffed.. No idea how to calculate the damage per second but witch doctors are hella strong.
 
Good night GAF. What a fucking horrible launch this was. This is by far the last Blizzard game I'll hype to death. What a bunch of horseshit.

Damn, Witch Doctor makes everything else (particularly my wizard) look hard. 2 hours into act one on HC and I have yet to even take damage.
 
So any reports of anyone being crazy enough to push through the entire campaign yet or getting close to doing it? Or have not enough hours passed yet?

Edit: Nevermind. I see there have been server issues.
 
Blame yoshichan for the OT2 on the freaking release day....

Anyway, at work now can't wait to continue my quest with the witch doctor. Thank god the game is shorter than DII, I was replaying that this weekend and it took about 17hrs. And i' ve completed it so mqny times...

It is Diablo with enough changes to make it feels fresh and new, yet retaining the awesome feel that made Diablo work.

Combat feels heavy and awesome, as are the skills. Gear is in abundance and a good variety of stuff is to be found.

Story is pretty cool, especially with the CGI stuff and the random character based stuff to keep things going along. Always worth checking the story before you start doing gear runs etc.

I knew the online-only DRM was going to be a problem.

That being said, thank you God for making the EST launch at 3am. It forced me to decide not to play D3 tonight, so hopefully everything will be in some semblance of order come 10am or so tomorrow :).
 
Weird, when I go to "switch hero" I can see my character that I started earlier this morning. But I can't "resume game" or anything with him. I keep getting an error saying that the game can't find all of the appropriate game configurations (error 317002).

Note: I'm attempting to play on a different computer right now than I was using this morning, though I assume that shouldn't create a problem.

I'm about 90% done I think, but a lot of other people have already beaten it. I think the Asia had a group do it in about 7-8 hours. Normal only of course but still impressive.
 
Holy jeez at all backlash... Anyways, servers are going through hiccups for ~ hours as Blizz does maintenance already.
 
I was cruising through act 1 and got level 15 and realized i haven't gotten any achievements so i went to disconnect and reconnect to see if that would fix it to find out server is down for maintenance, luckily my character is still level 15 i was afraid that all my progress was gone.

Game is running a LOT smoother then it did on the beta, on the beta i had to run it on every low with lower res to get 30-40fps now i run it at 1440x____ w/ high textures and AA on and i get a constant 40fps with 5-10fps drop when like 20-30 dudes are on my screen which isn't bad and it doesn't want to set my laptop on fire like WOW/SC2 did so i am happy about that.

I played for a good 3 hours and never got disconnected, every game at launch (this big) has problems, especially with online RPG/MMO's.

Try drinking some tea to calm down because you are way way way too upset over a video game.
 
Sigh... I hope their "emergency maintenance" actually does something. And actually ends at 4:30EDT, on schedule.

I'll stop trying to login until then.

You know, I actually didn't think it was going to be bad. But for them to take the servers down twelve hours after the launch is pretty damn bad.
