Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

Played for a few more hours when I got up, not sure how far into Act 1 I am but it's all good so far.

Had to stop to eat finally. Hurry up lunch, there's a messed up temple I have to go raze.
 
A part of me is glad i can't connect because now i am installing MP3 to my 360 and I'll get a chance to play some before diablo consumes me again.
 
So, because I feel like bitching: I get home and my CE is waiting for me. It's beautiful, even though it won't fit on the shelf with the rest of my big CE Blizzard boxes (have StarCraft II, BC, WotLK and Cata all on a slim Billy). Open it, rifle through the tchotchkes and sit it on its own shelf. Walk over, try to log in... servers are still fucked? Grr. Go back to my box, open it up and think, "Why didn't they include the Book of Cain, or the fancy strategy guide?" It's a hundred bucks! Cheap, stupid bastards.

... sorry. I have a lot of work to do tonight and wanted to play for a few hours. I'm having old school WoW launch flashbacks.

PROBLEM NOT YET FIXED

When I boot up the game I get the following message : Input not supported (floating message). Usually this is about the resolution of the screen. But in this case it doesn't matter because it gives me this message with every possible resolution.

Every single game works on my monitor (Bulletstorm/Rage/Mass Effect 3/Risen etc.), but this one doesn't.

To prove it's a problem with D3 and my monitor : It works on the Samsung TV that is also connected to my computer.

What. the. hell. is going on.

Yeah, I can't see it being playable later when they couldn't hold people at 2 eastern. There will be at least 2-3x times as many logging in then. Note to self: Don't take time off for online only games.
 
I don't understand people defending Blizzard they should have been prepared for this. If they wanted to have a single player game that is always connected to there servers then they should have prepared for the huge demand - NO EXCUSES!
 
So I got a Witch Doctor to 10.. and I have a few notes and questions..

Zombie Dogs are hella weak :( They die in a few hits it feels like. Against the Skeleton King all 3 died in 1 hit. Hopefully they get better

Spiders are ugh.. Tossing bottles nonstop and them disappearing so fast leaves me to get swarmed. Wish they absorbed damage as well like pets or minions but enemies just ignore them and go straight for me. Hopefully these get better. Got the rune for Leaping Spiders but they are also just as bad :(


Also - Newbie question.. You can't alter your stat points anymore? Doesn't that lead to more possibilities of people being exactly the same? Eventually people will find the best builds for each of these characters which means 'Best skills to put in your hot key bars' since you can no longer put points into skills to make them stronger, correct? So really the only two things differentiating you from other people is your gear and the skills you decide to use?

Feels like they removed another wall that prevented people from being the exact same as everyone else. Makes me sad. Eventually people will find the best skills and the best gear and just be mirror clones of each other it feels like..

Other than that.. I'm loving the game :)

Servers actually aren't down. Seems more an issue with the connecting process or somewhere else along the lines. Having more servers wouldn't actually help them at all here :x

I finally got logged in, hit "start game" and.....error message. It's like different layers of hell, all with their own error message.

I suppose I should try and get more sleep, to make up for only getting about 2 hours of shut eye this morning? >:I

I guess? The art book is nice but the Diablo skull is something I'd never keep out. It's enough to have all those big Blizzard boxes tucked on a shelf underneath my film collection when company comes over.

So just like D2? Or am I just misremembering the "X STR, Y DEX, Pump VIT, lol Energy" guidelines?

It's basically the same thing except changing skills isn't a hassle.
 
Which would be worse: Periodic maintenance where the servers are down (like now) or a login queue (where you could be the 10,000th person in line)?
