game is like crack. need to fix the shit servers though. laggy as hell. 1st i thought it was my video card but its just the super high ping making my character look like its moving in slow mo

Wizard IGNORES everything. Ignores it. I was at one point nuking mobs down on 3 player mode - alone... in a matter of seconds.

It does getharder at ActIII's end, ActIV's beginning...
But then you get to unlock Archon. Yeah. About that....

*cries histerically in joy*

So, is mixing and matching skills the extent of character customization?

The possibilities there really are endless at this point - but the stats on items are varied enough so you need to make meaningful choices with every new piece.

Wow the auction house makes this a totally different game. Kinda don't like it.... instead of trying hard to find that perfect bow... all it takes is one click of a button to search.

Ya. The weapons/gear stats screen should have an icon at the bottom stating, earned or store bought.

For the bragging rights and hardcore grinders.

So I finished the starter edition on my wizard and decided to try a barbarian rather than grind for 5 levels. Maybe it is because I started off with a better weapon, but geeze the barb seems OP in comparison. I mean, my Wizard got by fine -- no deaths -- but the barb is just tearing through content.

Would really like to continue the wiz, but I just ordered a ce from amazon today and it wont be here until tomorrow at the earliest. Was originally planning to go digital standard edition

good i only asked if it gets at least a little bit harder later on normal. i don't understand why you should have to run trough a game where you literally can't die. but if it gets harder i don't complain.

Yeah its just to get people acclimated to the mechanics of the game, and then bam.

PRO-TIP: You dont have to keep clicking to attack, just click and hold.

So, it's not possible to have more than 2 of the 'Mouse Skills' active at once? How disappointing. :( I was hoping all skills could get customized to all your action/mouse buttons. There are moments in one battle where (as a Wizard) the Frost Ray and the Arcane Bomb would both be useful. Alas.

This game feels deliciously like the hero-centric WC3 missions, where you just ran through a dungeon as Arthas, or Jaina or whomever. I likey. Wish it was tougher. I'm sure that's coming. I'm still so early.

Also, I've noticed most of my disconnects happen in the town. Which is hilariously identical to an MMO as well. lol

Turn on elective mode

You still have to unlock the other action bar slots, however. It allows you to place any skill in any unlocked slot

ESC > options > gameplay > elective mode.

Serious question here, not trying to troll, but why in the world did Blizzard not prepare for this many people? Didn't they have a general idea how crazy popular the game would be?

Basically they prepared for the typical use case. I think they knew the servers would get flooded badly for the first 24 hours and after that things would smooth out with fewer people playing simultaneously.

I guess their decision was that it's not worth handling the initial rush if all that capacity would just go to waste afterwards. That was their choice, and it sucks, but it's not that hard to see where they're coming from.

Where the reviews at? :/

There was no early access besides the beta. Any review right now would be a joke.

Surely there was some manufacturer or company willing to rent out what they needed, especially with the money they could throw around. They chose not to, knowing that the people inconvenienced for a day or two would continue to be customers - if only because of the 'no returns' policy on PC software. Why worry about spending money to ensure the end user experience is going to be solid from the start when it'll sort itself out and there's very little chance of meaningful blowback against the franchise?

I played my Monk past the Skeleton King and started a new Demon Hunter. I think I might go with DH first. It kind of reminds me of my Hunter with no pet, but it looks kind of like a Rogue in Tier 1.

I played a little bit in a public game. It just doesn't work having a bunch of people not talking and going wherever they feel like by themselves. Not with the stronger monsters. Things get hairy real quick.

Finally something is happening. I am downloading 936 BYTES/S on a 50MB/S cable modem connection. Way to spend the money on servers Blizzard - Cheap Bastards!

Game won't install - awesome job Blizzard!

You really begin to appreciate Steam when you get to experience firsthand how inept some companies are. Pathetic...

Elective Mode. Bind Ray of Frost to W and voila!

And yeah. I'm playing the Wizard right now and it feels like a PvE DotA game.

WTF? Is this for real? I've been trying to install the starter edition for 3 hours.. always stuck at the "updating setup files..." step... Is this a joke??? This damn thing does not even install??!?!!?

I'm a level 9 wizard right now and apart from speedy monsters and teleporters that give me a bit of trouble, the rest of the game is really really easy.

I can't believe I'm saying it, but I preferred the Diablo 2 system in this sense. I just really hate having attack abilities on non-mouse buttons. It feels unnatural to point at a target and press my 3 key to do an attack. I'm perfectly fine with utility skills on the keyboard buttons, but I would really like one or two more skills on my primary mouse buttons that I could cycle through or toggle in some way.

Got lucky and was able to download and install fairly quickly yesterday. It took me two tries but the game was downloading in like 45 minutes which was amazingly fast for 8GBs. Dealt with the busy server issue for a while but was able to get in enough time to almost get to level 10.

There are some shitty issues right now but man, this game is fucking great. I had to force myself to stop playing or risk going with out sleep.

All right guys, I'm finally off to bed. What a long day it's been (well, it's been more than a day since the pre-midnight launch stuff). But yeah, I'm on nightmare act 3 right now. Started over nightmare from scratch when I was half-way through act 2 'cuz I wanted to help out some friends :3

Good night guys! It's been a lot of crazy hours... interview tomorrow with two magazines/sites :lol

edit: lvl 44 btw
