jeez... because you can't play a game without playing it to completion right?
I have played neither diablo to the first boss even. Too archaic.

So I have a level 9 Wizard. I'm not real sure on what I should have in my main hand? Are wands always better than anything else, even without stats? Is this just a weird thing in the beginning because no wands really have stats added to them?
Doesn't Call of Duty handle the same kind of traffic? What's the real difference - it's data in and data out. Friends list. Chat. That's about it.
Diablo 3 isn't doing some arcane new thing that nobody has ever attempted before.
Last boss of Act I was really awesome. Hyped for Act II now, as people say the difficulty gets ramped up alot more.
The Sunwell patch was easily on par with this. In fact, I'd say people got more playtime today in D3 then people did when 2.4 came out.
It was years ago at this point, but I remember for a fact that I was at least actually playing the damn game on launch day. You gotta also realize the fact that that was an MMO in 2004 this is 2012 and a co-op game. I've been able to play Diablo 3 for 2 hours today, that's it. I'll take lag/stuck in loot position over this shit.

Naaaaaaaah Im gonna go ahead and say you are full of shit if you think this rivals WoW's launch. I was there at midnight. A member of a 71 man guild that came from Midgard Bors to WoW. And there WAS no server that you could go to that would let you escape the madness. We were online and trying to get up and going before they even added the additional servers. We TRIED moving to the other open ones, and it didnt matter, ALL of them were fried.
Cmon son. D3's launch is bad enough, you don't need hyperbole to try and make a point that this isnt going well. Its bad, but its not WoW launch bad.
I have played a quality 13 or so hours today. Quality, not lagged to shit, but good game time. This has nothing on WoW's launch. You were in game, but it was borked to shit. No comparison.
Reading the last few posts about wizards and watching my friend get destroyed in act 4 with his wizard, why are they so weak? My monk blazed through the game easy mode.
Sorry not reading the rest of that. Personally this launch might have been an 'epic fail' for you and that's unfortunate. However to generally say it was one for the launch of the game isn't remotely true. Things could have gone MUCH worse. The launch wasn't/isn't a great success; but it certainly isn't an 'epic failure'.
Definitely. Got much harder once I hit Act II.I'm only level 10, but so far the game's been really really easy for my wizard. Too easy to kite people.
SK didn't even get me below 80% at any point during the boss fight.
Can somebody confirm that the game gets harder than this?

Next time Blizzard should really stagger their release like they do with their betas. They designed the game to be online and knew how many units they could sell - they kindof asked for this.
FUCK IT, WE'LL DO IT LIVE...

Really? They could be worse sure, I mean the servers could have been up and day then wiped everyone's progress just now. But really it's pretty fucking bad.
Another question: Is there a fast way to switch primary/secondary skills?
Pulling up menus in the middle of a fight is not cool.
I'm stuck at the "Checking for Updates" screen, similar to an error I got during the Beta... fuuuudge. After I played a bit under "playable" conditions with 54% loaded, which was awesome, I went out... came back, STILL 54% loaded, tried to restart client, now I can't get the Launcher to work again. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER BLIZZARD.
Game was awesome though.

Like actually DPS, or theoretically from the additional stats added to it? What I mean is, a sword that I never actually melee with, with a higher DPS number than a wand is better? Kind of weird.Just use whatever gives the most damage
Definitely. Got much harder once I hit Act II.
SK is a joke btw![]()

Gotcha. It's pretty satisfying to pull the nova/force wave combo, but there's really no sense of danger at all when I just run into a giant mob.
Good to know the game gets a lot harder.

This would be possibly more harmful to them then the down time right now. Could you imagine people complaining that they didn't get in the first wave of release? This thread would be twice as long.
You're not really meant to switch in the middle of a fight.
I started Act 2 a short time ago on my DH and Im getting destroyed though. I mean, I cannot survive more than a few seconds with enemies in melee range. Its pretty horrifying how fragile I am. I probably need to stop advancing in acts and just repeat one over and over and build up my gear before moving on.

Blizzard references Borderlands 1 in their game with The Clipper. Very cool
