Anyone know if we get the same recipes on crafting?
Like I got 4 rare recipes, for legs/wand/cap/belt. I'm curious if everyone gets those same recipes, or your rare recipes are randomly decided..
I do not have those. I'm only like level 3.5 though.

You will still upgrade your character and stats at level 60, you just won't do it by putting "points" into skills and attributes that you can't change or take back later. You will improve and adjust your character by finding, buying, and equiping better gear. Everyone at 60 will have the same base stats and skills, but their gear will make certain stats and skills much more powerful than others. You are going to have to make choices how you want to focus your character at 60, very specific choices, if you want to survive in Inferno at all. Base skills aren't going to cut it. Blizzard just changed the mechanic of HOW you adjust those stats and skills.
Just choose whichever lists the higher damage. The game isn't lying to you. There's a lot of factors going on so some extra INT may mean more than some more Weapon DPS. It's not cut and dry "6 INT is better than +2 DPS" sort of things. INT modifies your damage output which is dependent on your Weapon so you ideally want a nice balance of the two.
Where can I see total DPS?
I have a two handed sword of DPS 21, but I have a one handed dagger of DPS19 with a plus +10 STR.
The expanded tool tips say that the dagger is better even though the DPS is lower. This is confusing.
All else equal, 20 MH/18 OH is ever so slightly better than 21 DPS; if the Staff was 22-23 DPS, it'd have been slightly better :x
Remember, Dual Wielding is MH swings then OH swings then MH swings etc. so it's not like the two weapons damage is added together or anything. You're merely alternating which weapon you're currently "using."
Because this now means that you can look for something to use as a Wizard/Witch Doctor for spell damage besides that one type of weapon. It opens up loot options from a limited set of weapons to all weapons.
I'm assuming you're referring to DPS? I can't imagine +dmg to X-Talent has any effect on what is showing for the weapon DPS does it?
I honestly don't understand how anyone familiar with D2 can see the removal of manual stat placement as a bad thing. This I don't like I was thinking about this yesterday and thought how do I adjust my stats?

I imagine for Monk then dual wield is the preferred anyway to build spirit faster right ? DEX and attack speed to get the most out of it ?
It's not "tripping" me up. I just think it's really stupid in terms of lore. It's basically a confession that they weren't able to (or even willing to try to) balance any system that makes sense.I don't see how the weapon->spells thing is tripping you guys up.
I only played WoW for 2 months in the Beta. I was bored by release. What you're saying is the same thing I said above: they didn't even try or weren't able to make a system that makes sense work, so they decided to implement one that doesn't.You almost certainly didn't paly a caster in WoW, then. Weapon DPS affecting spells is a Good Thing because it allows for caster classes to scale with better equipment the same way as melee classes.
I played Diablo 2 for 3 years (from launch), and actually wrote build guides which were pretty popular. I think it's a bad thing.I honestly don't understand how anyone familiar with D2 can see the removal of manual stat placement as a bad thing.
I don't see how it doesn't feel like the Sequel to Diablo 2, Diablo 1 was totally different in pretty much every way to Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 is totally different to Diablo 2, There's presidence to this.
It's been out for one day, I don't think there's either way you can assume that it will have the replayability of D2 or not, I am leaning to it having the replayability but we will see.
I just don't think you can say 100% it won't.
Click 'choose quest'. You do have to start on like the 4th floor of the cathedral, however. You lose like 10 minutes
Is there any way for a group of people to create a private chat channel that spans across multiple games? I didn't realize you had to be in the same game to be in a party...that's disappointing. Am I missing something? It seems like the game should really have something like this, given the limit of 4 people per instance.
Does .1 attack speed change THAT much? I'm going from 82 to 100 damage...
What does cursor lag mean?I dont think this got answered last night, but I did have some crazy cursor lag, it would pretty much give out and be unresponsive. Was that caused by network lag or??
Eh, I disagree. D2 replaying was mostly because "Oops, that build sucked" and that's just annoying. I'm perfectly fine with getting to spend more time playing at max and changing builds rather than playing to max with different builds.

I know I'm probably being an idiot, but what is the point of soul harvest for the WD? It greatly increased int, but how does that help you in regular combat
Ah I didn't know that damage was actually DPS factored in with everything. Guess I will just stick with whatevers highest then. You mean DPS? Mouse over it on your character screen; it'll tell you the various things it's affected by. Then you can check your details screen and see what's up. It's hard to tell without seeing your items and stats.
After being in the bnet list, only 1 gaffer added me.Get with it guys! Just kidding, I'm busy solo playing too, but it would be nice to have a few other peoples on my list.
Did you play D2? The pvp system and lobbies were why it was popular for so long. The making and leveling a character part took very little time at all, especially after the ubers. Leveling a new character to ~90 a couple to a few hours thanks to uber trist.
If you go back to previous quests do the enemies adjust to your level or is everything the same? Do enemies ever adjust to level (like in parties and whatnot)?
What does cursor lag mean?
I played Diablo 2 but not in the later years. When I played, it was an annoying process of getting rushed to Hell and grinding to the 80s/90s all because of slightly less than optimal skill point assignment or I should have went for the extra Block% or this set of equipment is better vs stat allocation. I'll greatly take build planning and design at the end-game rather than from the front-end.
Preferences and all, I suppose.
I hate to say it, but... Steam overlay might be the way to go?
has anybody experienced elbow pain from extended play time? I noticed it happening during diablo 2 and after a session with my friend yesterday I've got some pain in my elbow today. is it from bad posture? Mouse ergonomics? I want to play Diablo 3 but i'm worried about causing some irreparable damage
I disagree I think this feels very much like a Diablo game and I've played Diablo 2 since it came out, Who knows it might not have the longitivity that Diablo 2 did but I think we are way way to early to say either way. It will be interesting to see how it is when PVP comes out.D3 feels like an entirely different series. Think of D2 as the sequel that fixed the initial problems that kept the first one from being a truely great title. After that, a lot less changes were needed. The game STILL has a very strong dedicated community after a decade. Unless the "arenas" are holy-shit-amazing I can't see this having as much support for as long.
The Lobbies made a difference but I don't think PVP is why it was popular so long, I pvped and it was fun but it was the other things in the game that kept it around, the items, trying out different builds, trading.Did you play D2? Can someone tell me how to compare DW dps to 2 hander? Am I averaging the DW weapons and comparing that DPS to the 2 hander or what?

I did just put in brand new batteries in my mouse
