good thing you can respec whenever you want. Your supposed to adapt to each area of D3.

24 DEX should be better if your weapon damage is greater than like ... 14 or 15. +2-4 Damage is nice but it doesn't scale as your damage grows while the stat one does.

So early on, small amounts of +Damage will do a lot more than +Stats.

Dude.

Go to Battle.net D3 WD forums. There are plenty of people there who have made it into Hell. Check out their builds and see if it will help you.

Like someone said above, you're supposed to change your build depending on your situation. Don't get stuck on your "spec" and think that will work through the entire game. Switching things around. Thats the beauty of this system.

I don't understand what your asking. Did you create a battlenet account? You should be able to post on the Diablo forums if you created a battlenet account and tied Diablo to it. You don't need WoW. If you have the retail version it should have asked you to create a Bnet account when you were installing the game. You can still do so on the website.
 
Has anyone else been completely unable to access the auction house search function? No matter what I input I get no results found.

Just checked stats. My crossbows are:

26.4 dps
25.6 dps

Overall dps with 2-4 Dmg Amulet on 190.76

Overall dps with 24 Dexterity Amulet on 184.81

Doesn't seem right.

How did you find the difficulty in Normal mode? I just finished Act 3 on Normal and my Witch Doctor is feeling immensely powerful... almost overpowered. Soul Harvest + Acid Cloud is absolutely devastating - add in the Gargantuan tanking with Dire Bats or Zombies plus Firebomb with Flash Fire rune and it's simply insane.

Yea, I tried respeccing/adapting but results are the same, Firebomb and Direbat damage are lackluster

WD survivability on enclosed areas are 0

The only good thing about the WD is Hex, good for killing special mobs

its because dex improves your damage by a percentage, while +2-4 is linear.

for example.

say your base damage is 100 +(2-4) = 103 damage
say X dex is 2% damage = 100 * (1.02) = 102 damage

say your base damage is 1000 +(2-4) = 1003 damage
say X dex is 2% damage = 1000 * (1.02) = 1020 damage

Anyone else getting high-ish ping? Mine has been around 220 for the past hours, it went up to 500-1000 a couple times. Before logging off I was also DCing. Had to log off since doing the same cave three times over got pretty boring.

Keep in mind that Dual Wielding means that Amulet is +6 AvgDmg. Still, it probably shouldn't be better hm ...

Edit: Just eyeballing it actually doesn't put it that far off. I don't know exact damage amounts so I can only guesstimate but the math more-or-less checks out to a +24% factor difference. Keep in mind that +Damage items also benefit from your stats so a balance of the two is important.

Have you tried using that AoE buff thing that people have been saying is OP. I forget it's name but apparently its broken. Not sure maybe you should check it out.

Also how do you know that other characters won't struggle as well, the game is supposed to get really challenging fast in the upper difficulties.

Rare and higher. But sometimes Rare items are complete trash. Gotta look at the stats, not the color. I'm sure high level blues with good random placemen of stats will eventually sell.
 
Guys, I finished Act 1 just now. Guess how much time it took me?
8 hours

I never felt like I was wasting time or just wandering aimlessly. Played all but 2 quests solo. I'm playing a Witch Doctor and maybe he's just a slow class. Just goes to show that the campaign can be long if you want it to be.

I guess finishing the game will take me twice as long as it took Yoshichan

Honestly, I may just try that. I'm not even sure if her laptop can run it though, it's a fairly cheap Acer.

I could always build her a PC of her very own....
 
Is it possible to change my friend's names in my friends list? Half of them are listed by Battletag and half are listed by RealID. It'd be nice to have them all as RealID, or at least be able to put a nickname on there.

Possible?

Are there any disadvantages to putting items up on AH? Like a deposit you don't get back or anything?

The ones added by RealID show up as their RealID and the Battletag ones should just be by Battletag. Don't think you can just show everyone's RealID since the Battletag ones you wouldn't know.

It was always there, its much smaller now with v-sync then it was earlier.
