I have added a new "Death Mode" column to the Battletag List for those of you who would like GAF to know what style of play you prefer! (There's also a fancy new chart waiting to be filled in!) What kind of performance should I be getting with a 4.4 i5/570/8gb setup? I cant even maintain 60 on high with or without AA. Sometimes it drops to 30, it probably averages 45-50. 1920x1080

I think Diablo 2 was more challenging on normal. At least I had to put some effort into not dying. With my Monk I was invincible.

BTW did they take the auction house down? I wanted to take a look at it for the first time but search did not turn up anything.
 
so public games is the only to play with other people?
edit: i timed out of a game lastnight and I was playing with two nice people but I couldn't find the game again. how do I find a specific I was in previously?
 
I had 2 of the same legendary helm drop at the same time lol. Couldn't tell if it was from the same enemy. Probably a glitch since the stats are exactly the same.

Ya demon hunter is more akin to a hunter than anything. If you had played D2, it's like assassin+amazon mix.

I think legendaries always have the same stats.

My rig is the exact same even down to the overclock, and I run silky smooth 60 fps. All your drivers up to date?

I have a similar setup on my desktop and the game has been a stable 60 FPS. The game seem to have some issues with the newest Beta driver from Nvidia you may want to roll back to the most recent WHQL release

Yeah. Using the latest betas iirc. I can't check right now.

I'll try this I guess thanks. Sometimes I get worse stuttering than the beta too :/
 
I'm just not having as much fun playing online with this game. I think the text size may be part of the problem; I don't feel like I can really communicate with people like I could in D2. The limitation on the social aspect of the game is a bit of a downer for me.

Perhaps I missed it. It used to just have things akin to AFK and DnD, but no true invisible mode. I will look when I login.

Interesting. I do hope the later legendaries and rares get less of the health orb range and +XP modifiers on them. It's OK on items while leveling, but it needs to not be on level 60 stuff.

Not going to go int specifics but I thought the story in this to be pretty lackluster and predictable. Liked the D2 story more. Not that it is really important in a Diablo game but I expected better after the excellent Starcraft 2.

Starcraft 2 excellent story? oh man, it was really well done with the cut scenes and interactive point & click adventure stuff but the actual plot was SO bad. There was like nothing memorable about it, it was just so by-the-numbers and generic. Loved the campaign as the gameplay and set pieces were fantastic but the actual plot was not good at all.

I rally enjoyed the Starcraft 2 story, not just the way it was presented.
 
So, there is actually really no way to improve the skills? It's just...leveling up. Man for some reason I can't stop thinking about like a dumped down Diablo II...it seems to be so streamlined and easy in comparison....
