I love how GAF keep reminding us about restarting servers for a single player game.

I think we get it guys.

So sad... two nights in a row of coming home from a not-so-great day at work to play the eagerly anticipated video game single player experience I bought for $110 and "server issues" are preventing me from doing so.

This is really just completely and utterly inexcusable. Even if they have a hundred reasons, there are really just no excuses for this.

Oh ok, lets just bring the servers down and force all players to login again.

Should we wait till 3AM so not to cause any natural disruptions?

Nah, lets do it at 6PM PST. I'm sure everything will be ok.

DUUUUUUUDE. I've been counting down the days when I can finally play, and while I felt horrible for all you guys the last 2 days having problems, I was overjoyed when I finally got a chance to play right now for the first time and I connected with no problems.

Then, I get booted off right as I click on the FIRST quest giver outside new Tristram.

Nightmare had some bad packs of champs..hell is a whole nother level of bullshit. I PITY anyone playing this game hardcore. I'm genuinely surprised at the challenge and love it though. Monks are also ridiculously good for parties. They turn shit groups into ones that just shrug off attacks and ignore mechanics.

If you get the starter edition buly using a friend code, can you update that with a collector edition key or can you only update the game to
Standard through online purchase?

Also where is the friend code begging thread? I need one :(

Should be able to update to a CE code, but good luck finding one.

I don't think Blizzard gets it. They deserve all the shit they can get for this.

I know they're saying just 15 minutes cause they're going to increase the time. I just fucking know it.

I have played about 10 hours today no problems until now with a 10 minute restart. I am not to worried. Obviously if you weren't home all day I understand how you feel, but they are probably doing it to make it better for everyone.

I got kicked out :x

Oh well I died an embarassing death anyway so no worries on my loot.

It was the insect that shoots out posionous flies that did me in :x

I dunno I feel like it would be too similar to witchdoctor. I am hoping for a druid though.

Act II easter egg spoiler (associated with an optional event)
There is an event in Act II which has you working with a necromancer...the apprentice of the Diablo II necro, in fact. Considering they slid the assassin in Diablo II to hint at an expansion class, and that they've said in the past it's possible, I think this is more than a cameo.

!@#$!^@!@$^ I was right in the middle of fighting the ACT I boss when it craps out!!!!

Hey guys, is there really anything to spend money on other than upgrading the shops?

It seems like no (or, very very few) weapons are worth buying in and of themselves?

Playing Barbarian. I got to the beginning of Act 3 on normal when the servers shut down. Probably for the best so I can get ready for work tomorrow.

I was kind of regretting picking barbarian but after I got his buffs and earthquake I've been ripping through mobs. I'm using frenzy, cleave, earthquake, revenge, threatening shout, and battle rage right now. Passives are the crit one (can't remember the name) and berserker rage (25% damage when I full fury).

What level are you supposed to be when you finish normal? I thought I had read 30 but I'm level 26-28 (somewhere in that range) and I just started Act 3. I'm getting +100 something xp per kill right now w/ gear.

They really do, I played with an impeccable one today. She had some sort of thing where it looked like she sucked enemies into her, like a SC2 Vortex or something. Then I would get into position and chain dual Chakram them right at the conversion point for the stars and just shred them. My god, so satisfying.

As many have said, this is fucking stupid.

How about, at the very least, an in-game warning of an impending server restart? I'm going to lose all the progress again since my last checkpoint, and as per the game's strange design, my whole map will go back to being unexplored and re-randomized again.

It really destroys the mood and the immersion to have the game completely switch around on you like that every time.

I really think I came to this game looking for the wrong things sometimes.

Fuck, I was really starting to have some fun too. The story was starting to take off (still in Act I) and my disconnects are like, nearly a full hour apart now (lol).

Is there a fix for the stuttering?
I've tryed Vsync on/off, windowed fullscreen, limiting my FPS to my monitor's hertz and nothing fixed it.
It's annoying as hell

Damn it...This is the only time I can play during workdays.

Anyway, I love the Witch Doctor. Rolled a Demon Hunter during the beta, loved it, but decided to try something different. So good!

Today was the day to play hooky from work.
Unfortunately, I went in to work like a sucker.

I went to work too. I just happen to work at home as an editor of a news blog. I like it for days like these.

There will be. Lots of crafting to do end-game (and before if you like), as well as a lot of money towards expensive repairs when you die a lot in inferno. Don't forget that it's also the currency of the auction house!

I think money is for crafting and repairing your stuff later on, with the auction house coming in second.

NPC items are almost never useful.

e:and as noirulus points out, stash (which i've ignored to upgrade my crafting);

So far my money drain has been equipping my Templar, and shops. I think I need to also find out where to get the pages needed to upgrade my jeweler. Ill probably try the AH or something. But yeah you are right, doesnt seem like much to spend money on. People will probably sell gold for $ if the RMAH allows that.

Has anyone else gotten one of the Timed Dungeons?

That was the most intense 2 minutes in my Diablo career. Made it to the treasure room with 9 seconds to spare.
