Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

As many have said, this is fucking stupid.

How about, at the very least, an in-game warning of an impending server restart? I'm going to lose all the progress again since my last checkpoint, and as per the game's strange design, my whole map will go back to being unexplored and re-randomized again.

It really destroys the mood and the immersion to have the game completely switch around on you like that every time.

I really think I came to this game looking for the wrong things sometimes.

Fuck, I was really starting to have some fun too. The story was starting to take off (still in Act I) and my disconnects are like, nearly a full hour apart now (lol).

Well....we did get a 5min warning... The problem with that is that there is no reliable way to find a save in less than 5 min... You need to be lucky and happen to be near a checkpoint or you will loose stuff and time.

There are in your chat log. They came at 15 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes, 4, 3, 2, 1, 30 seconds, 20 seconds, 10 seconds, and off.

For me.

Nightmare had some bad packs of champs..hell is a whole nother level of bullshit. I PITY anyone playing this game hardcore. I'm genuinely surprised at the challenge and love it though. Monks are also ridiculously good for parties. They turn shit groups into ones that just shrug off attacks and ignore mechanics.

But that's the HC way :)

you gotta grind for levels and gears and play really focused.

my HC wizard is level 17 after 5 hours and still hasn't cleared Act I
Leoric's mansion ATM

You didn't get a message? I got multiple warnings. At 5 min, 2 min, and a couple more as it wound down.

They really do, I played with an impeccable one today. She had some sort of thing where it looked like she sucked enemies into her, like a SC2 Vortex or something. Then I would get into position and chain dual Chakram them right at the conversion point for the stars and just shred them. My god, so satisfying.

Should be Cyclone Strike. Seems godlike for setting up AE death zones just like that :x

There was a 5 minute countdown.

Is there a fix for the stuttering?
I've tryed Vsync on/off, windowed fullscreen, limiting my FPS to my monitor's hertz and nothing fixed it.
It's annoying as hell

Did you try reverting to the Nvidia WHQL drivers instead of the beta ones that? That seems to fix any framerate problems people have.

my new wizard build (lvl 31)

primary - disintegrate + convergence
secondary - meteor + molten impact

frost nova, wave of force, hyrda, archon

arcane hyrda is amazing for clearing enemy waves (and killing bosses, just circle around them and dodge attacks - the act 3 boss was a joke). I wish the Archon form had an escape ability right from the get-go.

So Zlatko we heard you worked a long day, had a lot of bull shit after with college courses and tuition issues, AND you managed to get a parking ticket?

FRET NOT FRIEND! For when you arrive home you can play Diablo III!....when the servers are up. Just not now.

So this is what it feels like....

I thought something was wrong with my game because it wasn't allowing me to log in. Game is installed and I am cocked, locked and ready to rock.

I can't get to the queue, "servers are busy". No shit.

EDIT: Oh they're down...

Hey, for all the witch doctors in here, why the fuck is the spider queen rune so god damn awful? I switched back to my fire toads immediately, what a piece of crap. Was I just using it wrong?

Monk bro fist. Monks make excellent support characters and they aren't bad bruisers either. I am level 23 so I have 250 spirit and I heal every time I use it so my character is invincible unless I do something stupid.

This is making me so pissed, I can't play the single player game I payed too much for in the first place.

Maybe with their awesome always on servers they can see I've played 10 mins over two nights, revoke my diablo key for my account and refund my fucking money. I'll play the console release down the road, fucking greedy fucks.

Hey guys, is there really anything to spend money on other than upgrading the shops?

It seems like no (or, very very few) weapons are worth buying in and of themselves?

1. Upgrade your smith so that he can craft things well above your level.
2. Craft yellow gear as far above your own level as possible. People love yellow gear and will pay a premium for it.
3. Put them on the AH for 5-10x its sell price, depending on costs incurred to make each item and the quality of the item.
4. Wait for people to hand you bags of money
5. Take your bags of money and buy a kickass legendary for your character :)

I put several items up in the 10-20K range this morning and they are almost all gone.

Yet again, for effect.

Oh ok, lets just bring the servers down and force all players to login again.

Should we wait till 3AM so not to cause any natural disruptions?

Nah, lets do it at 6PM PST. I'm sure everything will be ok.

Their sysadmin needs to let me know I can work for a billion dollar company yet act like a complete amateur.

Finished the game as a level 31 Wizard, normal, aside from a few difficulty spikes, was really easy all the way through. I hope it picks up in nightmare. Speaking of which, I'm torn between proceeding to nightmare or rolling a new class. What have the rest of you been doing? Also, Monk or Barbarian when I do reroll?

I love archon so op for packs of mobs

It gives you an in game warning 5 minutes ahead of time and then every minute after.

Yeah it kind of sucks because you can only throw one.

EDIT: I'm still rocking it though.
EDIT2: Also, 10 hours in, just finished Act I lol.

but but but it's not a single player game a herp a derp!

I used to love the old chat logs in WoW

Server restart in 15 minutes.

(2ish minutes later)

Server restart in 30 seconds.

(seconds later)

5...
4...

and then you got booted.

Is leveling up blacksmithing worth it?

I've been spending all my money on that bastard. I sort of regret it ONLY because I saw some item on a merchant now in Act 2 that is 100,000 gold. It's a misc. item and idk wtf it does, because it's not equippable, but damn if I don't want it.

Otherwise, no I don't regret it. He can start crafting rare items. The head piece I have is amazing for my level 17 self. +20DEX +20 VIT and like 50 some defense is great for my Monk.

I....didn't see a countdown. Shit. I may have missed it though. The chat log is obscenely small on my TV, and due to no UI/font scaling my eyes aren't seeing it 100% of the time. I've been noticing friend logging and achievements all day though...how did I miss all these announcements? Oh well.

I have played a total of 2 hours in 2 days of having this game. Seems they wait for me to get home from work and then pull the servers down. Thanks a fucking bunch, Blizzard.

Dang, I'm still in Act 1. Of course its been off and on. Level 15 Wizard. Does this game have a timer to see how long you played?

If you go to Profile page you hove over your character and it lists the playtime.

I would like to know this as well
EDIT: Man you guys post on this thread like lightning!
!@#$!^@!@$^ I was right in the middle of fighting the ACT I boss when it craps out!!!!

LLShC.gif

I know how that feels man... I was about to fight the first boss and got disconnected 4 friggin times.

are you talking about how the game seems to jump back, almost like a lag spike?

I think he means something that seems like a framerate drop, but it's like the game goes into slow motion for a second. It happens to me when there's nothing happening on screen, it's super smooth in fights, it's really weird to describe.
