Well I was able to identify why my MBP was playing like absolute crap. I had it closed on my desk while using an external cinema display.
This no doubt must have been putting more stress on my GPU to do a higher resolution than the laptop.
Secondly, having the laptop closed made it a furnace, which of course was killing the processor while playing.
So I disconnected it, brought my laptop over to the couch and bam, game runs perfectly. I even upped the resolution and textures. Sooo happy about this.

Finally beat Act 1 at level 15. Last boss was pretty easy, easier than I expected, though still a fun fight with lots of abilities. They shouldn't have put the healing wells in there, made it too simple, would have been much scarier without them. Story is getting a little less interesting, but still more into it than I was D2 despite being way older and more jaded.
I don't know if the ping measurement is actually correct. The game is quite responsive despite it showing me 180 ping.
I guess I'm pretty lucky that I haven't had any problems except the occasional frame rate issue (on my mediocre laptop) and of course when the servers are down for everyone.

It's starting to piss me off. Yesterday was understandable as my 'net was down for most of the day and when it did return I was getting terrible speeds (~50KBps), but now it's fine and yet I still can't play the bloody game.
At this rate my Barb will be level 60 before the end of Act 1.
Yeah, seriously. The one decent byproduct of this catastrophe is finding myself pretty strong against new enemies; the levelling just stacks!
I would have quit after 2 disconnects total if the experience wasn't being saved at the least.

The auction house is honestly the best thing since sliced bread. I only use the in game shops to repair shit lol. Props to the people putting up sweet deals.
Nice! I am wanting to try with my MBP and see how it performs. Glad to hear it is working better for you that way too.

I finally played for about an hour or two with no problems. Felt nice. I really want to buy it now (using Guest Pass).

I still have a hard time believing this game requires me to use my OC on my 570 just to get 60fps. It has to be a optimization issue or a driver issue.
I have 570 card at stock and game runs fine consistently 60 fps.

Try going to options -> account in the title screen and select Europe as your server.
When I was around the level you are at now I used Fists of Thunder/Lashing Tail Kick and Blinding Flash or Breath of Heaven for Defensive.

I have to say, I'm having a blast with the game so far (playing as a Monk), and prior to Torchlight, I wasn't really a fan of the genre outside of Champions of Norrath way back when. In fact I sort of just got Diablo 3 by proxy for signing up for the WoW Annual Pass, I figured that while I wasn't really looking forward to D3, I'd probably get some enjoyment out of it. I certainly didn't expect to enjoy it this much.
Man...this music...definitely picking up the OST at some point. Blizzard fails to disappoint in the soundtrack department once again.

It doesn't run all that well on a lot of the new cards because Blizzard optimized the shiznit out of it for the old cards.

Just did the one of the bosses in Act III with a couple of friends, some rares dropped. They left, and I wanted to redo the boss see if I can get anything for myself. Redid the boss, yet no rares. Has this happened to anyone else? A boss not dropped any rares, instead 2 dropped for me.
Just good luck. Probably a 10% chance of that occurring.

Two rings, and amulet that have large dex boosts and the rare bow I have right now is Dex + 78.

Gloves too. Looks like the AC symbol at the elbow. I am disappointed I can't catch up to anyone here and I am resorting to blazing through the game. Right now I am in the middle of Act 3.
Hint:
