What level are you and how high is your Damage? You're either way higher DPS than you need to be anyways or you're missing ways to increase your damage.

Are you using socketed items? Gems really, really push you up into the higher numbers. Socket your weapon with the best Ruby(s) you can obtain and then socket everything else with the best Topaz's you can obtain. Also make sure you compare items by equipping them, Some random blue amulet with +3-5 damage and Attack Speed +7% is probably going to be more of a boost to DPS than a rare amulet with +30 Intelligence, +15 Vitality, +5% Magic Find, and +4 Yard Gold Pickup Range for example.

so +2-3 dmg items over +30 Int items? I wish I understood how raw damage output was calculated, lol. :(

I'm level 24 and I think my DPS was around 150-160. I never died on Act 1 and I died 3 times in Act 2, so it's not overly difficult or anything. Just seems like other people have way higher DPS than me so I figure I was doing something wrong.

Any kind, benevolent Monk/Barb's in nightmare (in NA) want to run
The Butcher
? I'm standing outside
his area
and I'm about to throw my computer out a window.

Without a tank, my squishy DH is getting rocked ><

Haha, made a noob mistake. Only just figured out that the higher the speed number, the more attacks it does. For some odd reason I was picking slower numbers. :D

Also just got utterly pillaged by some Elites in Nightmare...FUUUUUU.

I started as a demon hunter; played to about level 16. Then I started over as a monk to quick play with a friend.

Now I'm wondering if I should stick with monk because I had more fun running/warping around beating everything to a pulp. Hmm...

Wow, sold a 1H crossbow for 150k. Probably could've sold it for 200-300... but eh, a sell is a sell.

What level bow?

Also any DHs find that vault has this *HUGE* startup lag (a lot longer than any other skill). By the time I've jumped away I've been pummeled a ton. Makes it near useless, been using the stealth skill instead.

There's like no penalty for dying other than durability loss, so they just die and keep running back and dying etc...

takes no skill, but you can press through content that owns you with repetitive ressing

Are you talking about those people trying to get through inferno? I know it's annoying. They aren't even fighting enemies just running past them to get to bosses =\

Yes =/

Honestly, I'm kind of regretting going DH right now. Physical damage reduction would be so much better than the paltry 25% dodge chance that Dexterity has given me at this point. 25% dodge is useless when a boss can two shot you in nightmare (or one shot...depending).

I hit vault, it stutters, and I wind up at my destination with a pretty big chunk of HP gone.

Why? If you craft you'll end up salvaging a lot to feed the amount needed for higher level items.

Last I looked, crafting materials were available on the auction house for far, far cheaper than the average selling price of most items. You're better off vendoring your items and using the money to buy crafting materials.

45 or so rare. Had awesome stats, dex, crit chance, more resources...

That's why I plan to use the damage reduction skill (65%) when I get it. Also ya... stealth way better.

I also use Evasive fire as my primary shot.

I don't use it anymore. Use smoke screen instead IMO. I just starting using the following today and absolutely love it.

Follower: Templer with rare items and mostly healing abilities
entangling shot
chakram
smoke screen
preparation

Still experiementing but the above works quite well. Fire off entangling and templer will go running in and just spam the screen with chakram...profit!

How does this run on the Intel HD3000 on my MBP? Will my eyes bleed?

Expect 20 FPS at lowest settings when you're actually playing. I just got a windows 7 copy in the mail and I'll be installing that to see if the performance improves even a fraction. It's not unplayable but definitely not ideal.

What a waste of time. I would never count that as "beating" Inferno.

That does seem pretty low. There is a Damage number on the left side of your character sheet (C) at the bottom. Equip items that make the number go higher. Not to mention when you mouse over an item it will tell you how much damage you'll gain (or lose) from equipping it.

To explain... your primary stat, in this case Intelligence, increases your damage by 1% per point while +DMG increases your weapon damage directly. So early on +DMG will be better than +Intelligence because a percentage of your currently low damage is pretty shitty in comparison.

EXAMPLE: Let's say your weapon deals 25 damage. If you add +5 Intelligence your damage will then equal 26.25 [25+(5% of 25)] so you're only adding 1.25 damage. However, if you add 3 DMG you will then be doing 28 damage [25+3]. HOWEVER Let's pretend you're higher level and have a weapon that does 100 damage... now +5 Intelligence will bring you up to 105 damage [100+(5% of 100)] and +3 DMG will bring you up to only 103 [100+3].

Try the lightning elemental arrow instead of chak. I used to love chak... the lightning elemental arrow so much better.

So im the only one who just got my heroes deleted? Im using an authenticator so i dont think its hacked. If my heroes dont come back i will be really pissed...

Yeah this is the case. Subtle essences are sold at an average of about 20/each on the AH, and can be bought in bulk. Even low-level blues typical vendor for at least 3x that, and with a decent magic find blues drop all the time.

Shimmering Essences and Fallen Teeth are also very cheap, selling at around 35/each.

The only thing they care about is being the first to beat Inferno, heh. That's the sort of play you get from that. Beating Inferno on Hardcore is going to be the much more impressive feat. I don't see that happening for a while.

I'm 1/4th the way through nightmare, and not a single legendary ;_; I am cry.

(Not that I need them to progress, but still)

I've got 400+ subtle essences from that first night when no one knew they'd be dirt cheap. Had I sold them to vendors, I'd be swimming in gold right now. Oh well.

WOW this game is really getting flamed on Amazon.

Amazon Reviews

Because there is no offline and the servers have been bad.

Things will come around after people realize the servers WILL be fixed. As for no single player offline, well...I personally don't mind it, since the online component is so seamless. It works, and I enjoy playing with friends.

I really like that they added a leach option that doesn't suck at low levels. Until you started getting up into the hundreds of DPS, % life leach really sucked in D2, and +N/kill usually got you the life after you didn't need it anymore. Now there's +N/hit which helps a huge amount.

On the other hand I think it's stupid there's no real cost or penalty for dying. Not even a risk of dying again while looting your body or an exp drop. The only place dying sucks is in boss fights.
