My question got buried like 5 pages or so ago, just reposting in case anyone can answer it.

Can anyone recommend a reasonable (smooth running) AA/custom config for this game using Inspector or anything else like that? The AA in the game is a tad blurry. Does forcing AA work without messing around with the inspector profiles?

Ugh. I want to get out of work and PLAYYYY.

Ha. One of the Scoundrel's quips was along the same lines of what I have been thinking the entire time I've been playing.

"God damn there are a lot of dead bodies around. I am surprised there are even people alive."

Scoundrel: "This ruler has more people in the dungeon than some rulers have in their entire kingdom."

Yep.

This makes sense, but why are people selling mats so cheap? Why didn't they just vendor their weapons instead of salvaging and selling the mats for less?

Most likely there are three explanations:

1) Some people expected prices to be higher, but were wrong.
2) Some people leveled up the blacksmith, crafted a good amount, but still ended up with some "extra" mats that they outleveled and no longer need.
3) We're still very early in the life of the AH and prices have not "settled" yet. Some people are underpricing with little information to guide them thus far.

Yeah, deals to be had right now as people make big accounting errors.

I mentioned earlier that I bought a 22.2DPS L10 dagger for 250 coin... It was at minimum 50% better than anything I could get in the game at the time for 10% of the cost. Not to mention everything else going for in the AH with comparable stats.

tennis + diablo got the best of me. im down :(

So I finally got Blizzard to give me an SE key (for my digital preorder) when I got my CE. They were essentially going to tell me to fuck off, but I had an ongoing support ticket with multiple reps promising me a refund. The best they would do is a key, no refund.

I know most people already have the game, but if you guys know anyone interested in a key for $55 via PayPal or something, send me a PM.

I think a lot of people just don't realize their mistake. It's going to take a little bit for everything to start balancing out.

The other day I wanted a Flawless Topaz but they were going for 6k gold, I searched for 3 Regular Topaz and they were going for 2.2k gold each... makes sense, so I searched for 9 Flawed Topaz and for some reason they were going for only 300 gold each - saved over 3k gold like that. On the same token, I bought two Flawless Rubies and a Flawless Topaz yesterday for 500 gold each. Some people are just too dumb to check or just want their money so fast that they don't care how much they charge.

In the case of mats in particular it's averaging out to about 20/each for subtles and 35/each for shimmerings & teeth, so they're just that cheap as a whole right now (at least on American servers).

If you're selling them for much more than that you risk not getting any sales, especially since it tells you the last 10 & last day average when you do a search, which isn't the case with gear since those are far more varied.

In the case of gear, people are definitely being very silly with pricing stuff right now. :P

Since both the Blacksmith AND the Stash are account wide you think people would just use the mats for their other characters... I know I would. Again, I just think they're not doing the math or they're simply being careless.

Maybe, though since money also transfers and solid rares are so cheap on the AH, they may just not want to save up some of the mats for other Normal & Nightmare chars.

Regardless of the reason, the AH definitely has some nice deals going right now, haha.

I've got a Dex belt, a Str belt, Str/Dex/vit gloves, Dex/Int/Vit gloves, Str/Vit shield, Str boots, DH offhand, Dex/Int helm, Fist weapon, and 1H crossbow.

EU servers, first come first serve.

But now that I've seen wizzard 1-60 (played with a friend), I'd rather go Monk next because they're derp :3

Told people to go Monk at the start man...

Not that I've played mine much. I should've chosen a different class to duo with a friend :|

Put it up in the buy/sell/trade thread too. Good chance to get it scooped up there by a fellow GAFfer.

I've just got into ACT 2 with my WD, level 17.

I'm starting to want to change class though, I feel like my WD is either underpowered normally, or overpowered when I go in and use soul harvest.

The art in ACT II so far has been amazing.

Not the case at all. I didn't use soul harvest after act 2 and I absolutely destroyed everything (didn't die once) in acts 3 and 4. I relied on drops and crafted items throughout the game (no auction house).

Fire bomb
grasp of the dead
acid cloud
hex
Wall of zombies/voodoo
gargantuan

Nothing in normal can stand up to that build. I don't know about nightmare, but you're only level 17 so that doesn't apply to you yet.

played two more classes through SK.

Barb: pretty fun once you get leap. the feel of smashing things is great but I hate losing fury during downtime. It forced me to constantly move quicker as I'm normally slow

DH: almost too good a lot of the time. really marginalized a lot of the encounters. I don't do well at timing getting out of the SK's teleport and attack move

I think a lot of people just don't realize their mistake. It's going to take a little bit for everything to start balancing out.

Most people with beta experience thought that crafting was going to be the way to go for gear upgrades. Compared to beta a few months ago, crafts now have worse stats, higher level requirements, more required materials, and an additional gold cost on top of the mat cost. Meanwhile, there's an auction house being frequented by hundreds of thousands of buyers and sellers, resulting in a paradise of cheap loot.

People just didn't anticipate what was going to happen, and salvaged everything in sight before really checking out the auction house. Now there's a glut of crafting materials available from players who made the mistake of salvaging too many items and hoarding those materials.

Doesn't it cost 500g to combine Flawed, and 1250g to combine Regular? That means you spent 2750g in combine costs, in addition to the 2700g for the gems. (Still a savings of 550g.)

Personally I've had to force myself to resist not messing with buying gear on the AH too much. Just a couple of +Magic Find stuff to make regular ol' looting more fun.

Because the gold you get is better for sniping really cheap, really good buyout auctions. Upgrading the blacksmith is expensive and crafting an item with decent mods can also be very expensive. If you're playing a "pure" style with no AH, then you might be better off upgrading the smith and crafting the best stuff you can.

I don't know about you but there is just something gratifying about crafting items. And who is not too say how high you can go and craft some cool items that might sell for a lot more on the auction house - it might end up being worth the investment.

Ya I am staying away from the AH as much as possible. I would rather find the gear/craft it myself.

Yeah... don't buy stuff on the AH. At level 19 I decided to check it out and ended up replacing every item I had for like 10k gold. My Barbarian now has something like 3x the HP, 4x the Strength, 2x the armor rating, +15% attack speed, and a bunch of other modifiers. I'm pretty much invincible now and any loot I find in game is completely worthless to me.

Definitely going to avoid using the AH going forward. Kills a big part of the fun of the game.

So does the Templar bro out with all the games classes or is just with Monk. The guy praises me endlessly.
I played a witch doctor and he praised me pretty highly. I only used him for my first run through the game, so I have no idea how the Sorceress and/or the Scoundrel banter is.

So, Wizard Q:

Just got Disintegrate. What am I missing...why wouldn't I use Ray of Frost instead? Hits harder, adds a slow effect, and gets even more powerful with either Rune available at this level.

Hey guys - noob question as I'm new to diablo series. Loving the game so far. Curious about the armor. Is there a finite amount of different looking armor pieces ? If so how many are there If anyone knows?

I am still in Act 1 and think some of the art there is amazing.

What kind of pings are you guys getting when playing? Mine is usually around 200 which seems crazy.

I saw my ping go as high as 300-400 yesterday, but honestly i dont notice the lag while playing. My spells are casted when i want to and stuff dies when they get hit, so the high ping don't bother me.

Yeah my ping seems fine even at 300 I don't notice any lag.
