There is no standing still unfortunately. You've got to evade like crazy =/

Unless I'm not aware of some higher level monk skills. If so, please, I would appreciate the help.

I had some nice Vitality pieces that might helped in this fight but I salvaged them and with the cooldown on potions who knows if ti makes much difference anyways since it seems like I'm doing OK then I just instantly die. This seems stupidly hard for normal mode, cant imagine the later difficulties.

He gets so much worse in nightmare for a DH.
 
just beat it on normal. my monk was level 32, doing around 430dps. the entire game, i did not see a set or unique item drop, but a few rares and mostly blues. i hope this changes in nightmare...

He's not meleeing. He's using ranged abilities but has a melee weapon equipped. It looks like he's got his left click as basic melee which would do considerably less damag than any basic arrow ability, which do >100% weapon dmg.
 
I wish we could use the old way of skill selection and drag/drop (beta 11ish?) if we turn on elective mode.

Also, bookmarking/saving skill spec profiles, please.

I've got something that makes me immune to damage for 3seconds that should cover me for any instance where he does that wave type effect. I'm willing to try if you like my tag is EmptySpace#1141
 
What's the word on a demo for this game? I can afford it and I could run it, I'm just not sure I'd like it. It looks like fun but something about using the mouse to move puts me off. Are there any comparable games I could try that have a diablo like feel?
 
Soooo, uhhhhhm, my level 27 Wizard is now gone. I logged in, and it just takes me to the create-a-character screen, and backing out just brings me to the login screen.

See if someone can get you a Guest Pass, which lets you play up to level 10, but no multi or Auction House.

Otherwise, there's a 2-hour Torchlight demo, and there's ye old Diablo 2 demo.
 
What's happening with Blizz servers? Can't handle the load?

I mean during the beta I was always in the green wether I played on EU or US servers. Now I'm in the red in EU (not fun playing HC mode while having 830ms of ping) and yellow on the US servers (about 430ms).

Enjoying this game a lot still but having to play constantly online and having unstable servers? *shakes head*

i was you a couple of hours ago. strategy i used for defeating him
i used double chakrams and the skill that is sort of a life steal.
stock yourself with pots and use them wisely, immediately after you see where he is going to attack just dodge duck dip dive and dodge, that the DH bread and butter in that boss battle
 
Just started Hell on my 50 Barbarian; 52 now. Feels good tanking herds of mobs and not dying.

On another note, some of these special mobs are hella annoying...

Invulernable Waller Frozen? WTF?

Arcane Molten Desecrator? WTF?

WTF WTF at knockback stuff with tons of crap.

Hell and Inferno are finger crash courses.
 
level 12 monk going through act 2 like it's nothing.

Achievements in Blizzard games are so much more satisfying than XBL ones. The addition of meta-achievements, and unlocking cosmetic stuff makes them way better (in WoW, SC2, and now D3.) Having different icons/portraits for the achievements is just the cherry on top, instead of the same boring bubble with text.


Also - for people who've finished...best act?

I think Act 2 is overall strongest. Most memorable locales for me, and probably the best/most difficult end boss. I've played a lot of WoW and
Belial has the best damn void zones
of all time. (Well maybe not, but they're good).

Fixed it! Went to the FAQ page and found out that you have to change your region back--it randomly changes, apparently...-- and restart the game. Worked like a charm.
 
Finished Act 1 on Normal with a friend, took 8 hours and some minutes. So good and dat glorious CG, this game is addicting.

Finished for today, hope I sell something in the AH, need gold.

I still like the Act 1 environment and art the best. Love the style. Act 2 and Act 3 though..

I'm at the end of Act 3, and yeah so far I think Act 1 has the best environment. I really thought the environment in Act 2 was boring, especially the dungeons.

Not really. I breezed through the whole game on normal with my monk. Just started Nightmare, and while it does take longer to kill enemies now I'm still nowhere near dying.

god, i've been playing too much of this game. i had to take a break cause my hands were cramping like crazy.

i really enjoy the challenge so far in nightmare mode. some enemy stuff pisses me off though, like that stupid immune shield. bah. molten and plague is a sick combo that will kill you fast too if you're not careful.
 
I'm pretty confident that the Monk will get nerfed in some way. I suspect his healing capabilities will be the first target. Being able to out-tank Barbarians of the same level with comparable gear is nonsense. Much of it has to do with the healing cycle you can set up with the Monk.

We had people defending reviewers of Xenoblade, stating that reviewers couldn't be troubled to invest 80 hours into a single game to beat it and write a review, it would cost to much.

So with a game this scale..
 
Latency has been steadily creeping up every hour. And now I get desynced every 10 minutes or so. I'm glad I'm not playing Hardcore because I've died twice because of it.

i can't even fathom anyone wanting to play HC right now. I would probably break someone's face if i died from lag.

Damn. There's no multiplayer with the guest pass? I've been trying to get my brother to install it for a few days now so we could try it out... I'm not sure he's completely sold on the game, but somehow I don't think he'll be interested in playing alone.

I'm not playing HC and I want to hurt somebody because of it. I avoid attacks and they still connect ><

You can multi with other guest passers.

word. i had about 5 deaths today cause my heal pot or spells never went off when they should have. luckily none were bosses

Ah, thanks. Seems like the guest passes are pretty hard to come by so I'm downloading the Torchlight demo now. If I like it, I'll be joining the rest of you very soon!
 
Alright it's my first Diablo, almost at end of Act II. I'm only a level 14 which seems low to me, especially since i scour every dungeon and explore every map. My Damage is at 48 now, Strength 80, Vitality 65, and Armor at 489. How am I doing?

Also is it even worth selling the blue items on AH, I'm guessing just throw the gold (rare) items up..
 
Does it mean that I suck if I'm having trouble beating the boss of act 1? I haven't really stragized much or learned his attacks, but I'm only able to get him down about half way.
