Well if you die (and you will in Inferno guaranteed) at least you have a reason to make a new char. And the feeling of playing HC is quite different from SC. Obviously the servers aren't up for it now but maybe later.

Anyway, Just a thought.

I got that event in the stress test beta but it's never been there for me in the 4 characters I have in live play past SK. :\ It was really fun. Some event seem to be there every time but some are apparently very random

Speaking of this my level 22 WD just got his first orange piece. It said something like non-equipped on it at first so I assume now that I've equipped it I can no longer sell it at the AH.

I've been using stuff I found on the ground and he has 100 DPS at 22 with 1H/Shield. I'm sure with the WD off-hand it'd be higher damage. I saw someone post a 29 with 400 DPS so I don't know if I'm really behind or if that is from tons of AH gear.

+life for Soul Harvest was immensely useful, it was basically a free potion every 15 seconds. Spirit Walk is bailout + mana regen (not that I needed it much with this), and I kept up Haunt for life leech. Otherwise it was just Acid for groups and Darts for single targets.

Zombie dogs are fucking useless.

So was Spirit Walk + Honored Guest basically enough for mana regen?

Normally in the later builds I've been seeing either the Vision Quest or Rush of Essence passives as well. Though I guess your set of spells there isn't particularly mana-intensive, with poison darts being trivial in cost and still powerful enough while allowing mana to regen for other stuff.

Man, Act II sure did get a difficulty spike. I literally didn't die at all in Act 1, but already have in Act II. I shudder to think this game on Inferno, or nightmare for that matter. :P

Just came back and I bought the game..

and the drama begins. My iMacs DVD doesn't work. Simple, DVD sharing via Macbook, NOT! my macbook DVD drive doesn't work too. Simple, my wife's macbook. NOT! DVD rom is working and when I share it it doesn't show on my iMac. I had to copy/paste some lines in the terminal and reboot. FINALLY IT WORKED!! *PHEW*


installing, and its been 15 minutes and only 8% :( this will take ages
 
So I read you guys suggest stacking attributes stat alot for higher dps. The damage rings and stat give so much more dps though. How do you manage to balance that?
 
I'm about level 20, should I be selling the blue or DEing them?

If you enter the key in on Battle net. You can download the game directly from there. Basically Steam. The only thing that matters in the package is the key
 
Beat normal this morning on my Monk. Started over with a DH. I plan to run every class through normal before committing to a main to get to Inferno.

Quick question for DH's, is Bola Shot the best primary at low levels? It seems to be my only AoE attack so far but I don't like the delay. Chakram seems pointless at this point. No runes for it yet, but the damage sucks and it's flight path is hard to aim.
 
Level 37 DH switched from 1h crossbows to a bow/quiver - DPS went from 410 to 1100. What the ...

I used bola / rapid fire for a while. You can use whatever you want, really.

My current favorite is to use Entangling Shot w/ Shock Collar to snare enemies. I equip the passive that increases dmg on snared enemies by 15%. If its a single target, I hit him with Impale (runed w/ the bleed dmg dot). If it's multiple targets, I multi shot (Fire at Will runed). Tearing shit up like this at the moment.

Why does Diablo3 look so bad on the tech side?
I haven't played pc games in years so I was kind of shocked that it basically looks no better than a ps360 game even with high settings, I expected more.
Also the mp is a mess, no smooth animations whatsoever, my party just skates around the screen.
But the biggest offender for me were the cutscenes, the only time I saw such pixelated/compressed videos was when I set youtube to 360p.
No hd cutscenes? What is this, 2005?

I'm on 8MBs it'll take ages for me to download the game.

Thats the reason why I went out and bought it lol.. 21% so far. Donated the two guest keys

Need at least an hour.. hmmmmmm
 
lol, Monk + Cyclone Strike + Crippling wave can clear 100% of mobs in Act 2. And you just heal straight up from all the orbs dropped.

some surprisingly great rares found for =< 1000gp on the AH. Guess there's no 'market' yet, or perhaps it will just always be like this, but I picked up some gear for both characters, better than anything that's dropped for me in over 20 hours of play, for super cheap.

Everytime I play the cost of rares goes up. First day blues were 1-2k , second rares where and then I was on last night and the lowest price for a rare was 10k with people trying to get up to 200k!

I imagine by the time I get to play tonight it will have shot up again!
 
Guys, I still don't think friend invites from NA servers (to EU) works... do I need to log on NA servers first?

Yep I'm doing the same thing, leveling one of each class all the way through the end of normal. I want to play around with all of them before I choose a favorite. Whichever class I like the best by then I'll pick to be my "main". So far the only class I've really played is the wizard, and he is only level 24 in Act II (but close to the end of Act II, I think). I'm taking my sweet time with him, fully exploring everything, slaughtering every monster I see, and even reading all the quest info. Hell I'm even listening to all of the NPC conversations, which are wonderful and superbly done by the way. Some really interesting back story stuff, and also some real humorous stuff too.

SO since I'm leveling five guys to about level 30 each, It's going to be quite some time before I really play in Nightmare, and even longer before I step into Hell or Inferno.
 
I completed Act 2 on Normal with my Wizard last night. I just dinged 24 after traveling to Act 3. Game is pretty easy so far, and I've found a set of skills I'm pretty happy with the Wizard for now. I've only died once thus far and it was pretty avoidable because my wife was distracting me.

I'm using Electrocute w/Chain Lightning Rune, Arcane Orb w/Obliteration Rune, Frost Nova w/Shatter Rune, Ray of Frost w/Snow Blast Rune which is my high DPS nuke for bosses or elites, Diamond Armor w/Prism Rune, and Wave of Force w/Impactful Wave.

So I got a nice mix of damage and CC and control. Makes for an easy playthrough so far. Using the templar as my follower.

Dear lord this. I'm surprised Gems don't have a level requirement (or, if they do, it's ridiculousy low).
 
So, after the initial fiasco with the achievements and me not playing the game for about 2 days, yesterday I played it for 6 hours and everything seems to be working now.

I almost finished the first act, the problem I have now is very simple. I just arrived at work and I am dying inside to just get back home and KEEP PLAYING. What do I do? I have to sit here for the next 6 hours instead of playing what seems to be the greatest loot game ever coincived by mankind.

Obvioulsy I'm not going to the gym tonight. I am also considering skip my own birthday party this weekend to keep playing, is that normal? Do I need treatment?

Help =(

My cutscenes weren't pixelated at all. They looked crystal clear. Animations look smooth in mp too....
