Here's my lvl 43 DH.

Tip for monks - if you look for items, try to find agility. Having insane agility is soooo practical, you get high dodge and attack.

Also, starting my first play on Nightmare, Kin#1146 Monk! Play wif a brotha

I have not used the Blacksmith a single time. Too risky and I always found great stuff.

I'm leveling up the Blacksmith as fast as possible, but NOT for the gear he can make me. I want the Anvil Banner Sigil you get for maxing out the smith. I really, really want my banner to have a big anvil on it.

Yeah, I'm insane, but hey I play the way I want to. LOL!

Quoting for new page

I partied with my friends to get through Act 2 and 3. They were ~10 levels higher than me. I was getting what felt like normal XP, they said they felt like they were getting little to no XP until later on. I THINK it's only the higher level players that are penalized.

Can someone give me some info on the hidden MF buff associated with not changing skills?

What's your INT at?

474, exact dps is 627.61...it was something like 270ish midway through Act 3 b/c I had no idea weapon dmg and +dmg were so critical.

It's called Nephalem Valor. It doesn't kick in until level 60.

Here's a nice summary:
The Nephalem Valor buff increases a player's Magic Find as well as increase the amount of loot drops from a boss.
The Nephalem Valor buff will be available only to characters of level 60.
After killing an Elite monster, the Nephalem Valor buff will be activated.
The Nephalem Valor buff can stack.
The buff will disappear if you change a skill, skill rune, passive skill or leave the game.
The buff will last for an undetermined amount of time.
If a player joins a game, they will not receive the current buff other players may already have.
Dying will not cause the buff to disappear. If disconnected, there will be a small grace period before disappearing.

Need some help DiabloGAF, just noticed none of the cinematics are auto-playing during my Wizard's campaign. I didn't even realize I was missing anything until I started a new character. The game just skips them entirely, and I have to go back to the main menu to watch the ones I missed.

Is it a bug? Or did I somehow turn off cinematics for this character? Halp!

bump :{

Is it just me, or
does Diablo's character design seem a bit more on the feminine side than the previous games? I mean, he used to be a chunky like King Koopa, but with muscular chest.

What is every picking as their skills for Witch Doctor?

I have:
Horrify
Acid Rain
Firebomb
Giant zombie guy
Poison Dart
Slow down AoE

Right now I have my Gargantuan tanking stuff as well as a templar so I can sit back and put down acid rain or firebomb and then poison dart if they get close. But I feel as if I am missing.... something. Can't quite figure it out.

My god, act 2 boss on hell is just fucking ridiculous. I have over 20k hp and a certain attack that is really fucking hard to avoid just one shots me. Fuck that shit...

paging yoshi to tell me how this would be harder if I was in a 4 man party, where the other team members that survive could just res and let the fight go on.

Yeah the +dmg buffs have a big effect. You can easily see the difference after you actually equip those items, but I imagine many players ignore them because "+3-5 damage" doesn't seem particularly substantial on its face. :P

They probably could have been a bit more transparent with that sort of thing.

Here's a nice summary:

Yeah, it's quite the clever way to encourage players to stick with a specific build at level 60 when everything is unlocked.

Haven't really been following this thread - but any word if lost achievements are going to be restored? Or are they gone forever?

Exploding Frogs
Dire Bats
Spirit Walk (3 seconds)
Soul Harvest (with life leech)
Haunt (with life steel)
Gargantuan (with cleave)

Spirit walk + soul harvest to safely get 5 stacks, effectively doubling my DPS. Use dire bats for long range and frogs for short range. Haunt for champions and bosses. Guargantuan is just overall really useful in taking some of the heat off me...can't really give him up.

As for passives, I'm using the 20% damage reduction, and bloog magic (extremely useful passive...gets better as you level up and get more health).

I'm maybe an hour or two into Act 3 Normal...level 27. My frogs hit for 400-600 damage, and my bats hit for about 800-1000 damage. Blood Magic, life leech Haunt, Soul Harvest, and Spirit Walk means I'm extremely survivable as well.

So I had a funny dream last night. Here's what happened.....I'm laying in bed looking at this package I received from amazon, its rather big. I'm like wtf, I dont remember ordering anything. I open the box and its Diablo 3 Collectors Edition. I say to myself what the hell, why did I order this? I don't even know how to play Diablo 3 let alone know if it will even run on my computer. At this point I'm starting to get pissed off at myself that I spent $100 on this, but instead of returning it I decide to open it. The box looked like about 2.5 pizza boxes stacked on each other, but really nice. I open it and I find the most random/disappointing stuff ever. 2 teddy bears, 1 bright blue with a skyrim logo on its chest, the other was red and pink, 2 bags of jelly beans, and then the regular version of Diablo 3. Then I woke up.

I see.. I guess I'm just so use to Poison Dart, Ill try out the frogs. My build seems off. Like I have too much AoE with Acid Rain and Firebomb, since Acid Rain is ridiculous, but putting another close range in the slot makes me feel like I have too much.

What's your DPS look like? Make sure you're using Soul Harvest in crowds to get a huge Intelligence boost and greatly increase your damage output.
Soul harvest is my tricky spell, as I can't ever seem to get into the mobs to fire it off before my friends leave a greasy stain of murder behind. Are my friends bad people? Is this the problem? :D

I don't know what my DPS looks like, as I'm at work, but I'll see if I can't bring it up.

Im sure pepole has mentioned here before, but man buying stuff in the AH is just broken lol.

Im buying great gear for my lvl for like 200-300 gold xD

Its making my game a lot easier.

Im lvl 16 and I already have like 128 DPS lol.

But Im sure that wont matter come Inferno.

PS - Also, Im taking my sweet time with the game. Checking every nook and cranny. Still in Act I Normal :D

Poison Dart + Acid Rain makes sense if you're using the passive that decreases enemy damage by 20% when they're poisoned, but otherwise I feel Exploding Frogs or Firebombs + Dire Bats are far more potent, at least in Normal.

Use Soul Walk to quickly run into a group and Soul Harvest safely.

For a monk, around what should my level and dps be at the start of Act 3? I'm 25 with 112 dps. Having no issues killing anything quickly, just wondering around what I should be at. (I may be a level or two higher than most people at that point, I'm one of those people that explores every inch of the map, so that adds to my xp quite a bit)

How are most of you getting your equipment? Auction House, Drops or Crafting? I've been focusing on crafting but I haven't had as much time as I'd like to play so far so I'm still in ACT I.

Drops and crafting. I'm not a twink so I'll never use the auction house, though I'll trade with friends to complete set items.

I fucking love dreams. haha.

I'm quite tempted to buy the CE myself. Are they still available?

Once you get Spirit Walk at level 16 you get a nice boost to running speed so it'll be much easier to get yourself into groups (or escape from them). Also bind the "Move" key (which is unbound by default) to something like the middle mouse button - it allows you to move around without targeting anything, so it's very useful for squeezing your way into groups for Soul Harvest.

Normal is fairly easy for the most part so it isn't a surprise your group is cutting through them like butter.

I use something comparable to this, with the difference that I use the effect lengtening rune for the Soul Harvest spell (since I use it to start a fight where I'm mostly always full hp) and I use Grasp of the Dead with the 80% slow since I level with groups a lot. Also I still use poison darts [splinters] because 180% weapon damage for a 'free' attack is just too good. Also you don't wanna get close to some mobs in NM mode.

Yeah man. The AH is crazy now. Personally I love it. I'm so decked out now that I didn't even get close to dying in act 2, and didn't even break a sweat for the act 2 boss.

I understand that to a lot of people that isn't fun - but to me the meta gaming of the AH is the closest thing to the anarchy of the early days of D2. Also since I love selling stuff all yellows that drop are exciting to me just in hopes that it fits one of the five demographics.

Anyone stacking Magic Find? Or is that not the way to go.

I've got about 60+% MF on my barb (just lvl 26) and I see blues with almost every group and a rare every five to 10 minutes or so. Popped a chest with a luck shrine activated last night that puked out 5 blues and 2 yellows. Huge fan. Keeps me flush.

Wow, was facing (Act 1 spoiler)
spider queen
on hardcore and my latency spiked to 1900. In the middle of the day on American servers.

Have they acknowledged that there is a problem?

It seems like the way the AH is working right now you're better off going gold find. You'll have a lot more luck finding awesome magic weapons on the AH than in game.

The AH completely breaks the game, just like everyone said it would. Fortunately, you can just not use it!
