Yes, it's possible. Yes, the first kill gets better loot.

Just change your quest to the one where you're going to kill the boss. But I'd farm the champions in the dungeon before him for loot.
If I change the quest to the one where I’m going to kill him, I can just run up and clear the champs, then him, right?
You could restart the game and pick the last quest for the SK if you really wanted.

Better off buying gear from the AH unless you have high Magic Find.
SK?
Skeleton King
? I’m thinking
Butcher
. I'd rather not use the AH at this point—defeats the purpose of a loot game to me.

Is the skill calculator on the D3 page not updated? some of the descriptions dont match the games.
Is the monks sweeping wind really suppose to refresh after each melee attack?

Ideal patch note:

"We have buffed every Witch Doctor spell by cutting down mana cost to 10% of their original cost while increasing damage by 5000%.

Monks are nerfed.

Demon Hunters are nerfed.

Wizards are nerfed.

Barbarians are nerfed."

Hope they get on it soon.

It's so funny seeing everyone's views on what is OP. I think Witch Doctors are crazy overpowered (because of harvest souls).

Yeah. But the actual bosses have so much HP that it might be more efficient to just farm the champ packs (since they drop the same quality loot).

Trading has always been a part of Diablo. In D3 we just don't need to barter with SoJs or runes.

Dresden I thought you said you weren't having any probs with mana. Bust out that Vision Quest. :>

Unlocks at level 40 man! I already have a build mapped out when I get it though, should be fun. I don't have trouble with mana if I'm just spamming Darts half the time, but that does get boring.

I was hoping it'd be obvious that I was joking, but eh.

Oh, haha, that makes more sense. I guess I just assume everyone thinks everyone else's class needs to be nerfed.

Is there anyway to just see all your skills on one screen to drag stuff to slots when you have elective mode on? Because the way I've done it so far, where you pick one skill for its normal slot, then drag it to another slot so that you can then pick a new skill for the first slot, is really stupid and clunky.

I could see people screwing up their hot keys and not knowing why

I think it should be off by default for people new to Diablo, but Blizzard should enhance the way it's presented to each user. Either by a larger tool tip or a very brief tutorial on it once three different slots are opened early in the game.

I don't think so. It's just incredibly cumbersome.

I can't wait to pass Normal today, I want to get better loot already in Nightmare. Btw did anybody had any luck finding legendary's in Normal? I was fortunate enough to find a Legendary Amulet :)

I should be getting passed normal tomorrow. I kinda fucked up by playing too much D3 and now have my friday ruined >.< Oh was it a bad time to get on crack.

My DH is looking pretty awesome for such a low level...

This farming is ridiculous. Look out, AH!

Man... anyone else have any soul crushing skill realizations?

Like I had grand plans for certain skills.. I finally get them... and it turns out nothing like I imagined. Happened to me with Fan of Knives->Retaliate.

Also any demon hunters use Strafe? Worst skill in the game....

Hmm, crazy. This is such a departure for my brain (champs were absolute shit for anything but cash in D2 and boss packs really weren't that fantastic until A1 Pits in Hell).

I played enough D1 and D2 to know the economics of those games. I just don't want to participate with the AH at this point. Once I play through on my own and start min-maxing, then I may change my tune, but at this point I want to make it through organically. (Which I thought meant farming Act Bosses, but in this game it appears to be Boss Packs, so that seems like a fun swap!)

Edit: Also, not at home so can't check, but is there a way to bind different keys to abilities? 1-4 is balls, I want to use QWER.

If you have elective mode on, there are arrows on the skill screen that let you switch to the other categories. There's no need to drag from the "normal spot", you can just place anything in any slot directly.

Elective mode should really be on by default. There is no conceivable reason NOT to use it.

I was saying earlier that the very least Blizzard could have done is added a prompt during the beginning tutorial stuff that explained elective mode and then offered an option to turn it on or off, with perhaps a recommendation that newer/less experienced players keep it off if they're so concerned about people getting confused.

It's significant enough that they really shouldn't have hidden it as some random option among several in the menu. It can literally change the way you play the game and lots of people who'd benefit from it don't even know that it exists until they're told about it. Same thing with advanced tooltips, to a lesser degree. It gives you some really useful information.

You don't have to drag stuff in your hotbar to make it work.

You'll see that the skill menu is divided up between the two mouse slots and the 1/2/3/4 hotbar slots, and you get an arrow at the bottom pointing down to which one you're currently at when you click on a certain slot category. Then simply use the arrows at the top to navigate through various skills, and pick the one you want added to the slot you're on.

Why can't I join a public game on the quest I'm at. I'm on Act 2 Nightmare and the latest quest I can select for public games is 3, but I'm on 8... Why? I never had this problem until I got to Act 2 nightmare. It was working fine in Act 1.

Yes you can map skills to any key. I use qwer.

Having fun as a Wizzy. Using Ray of Blast as a primary, Arcane Orb secondary, and Frost Nova + Wave of Force for massive aoe pwnage. Mana is an issue now but will be less so in later levels. Power Hungry passive certainly helps.

Did any of you guys find the way of fixing the stuttering?

Mine used to stutter w/ AA on, and V-Sync on, then I turned off V-Sync, it helped, but then started doing it again. Then I turned on the Letterbox option, and this stopped the stuttering.

So V-Sync, AA, and Letterbox on stopped stuttering for me.

Yesterday I took someone's suggestion to reduce the framerate cap to 30 and turn on vsync. That seemed to help a lot; there's still some minor stuttering occasionally, but nowhere near as bad as before.

I just wish Blizzard would acknowledge the issue. My machine should easily handle the game, and I'd like to have 60fps without stuttering.

I'll have to try Letterbox when I get home.

I've been disappointed by every new Demon Hunter primary skill I get in that they all suck compared to Hungering Arrow.

Same. Only thing I've found better than hungering arrow is Evasive fire. The bolas take too long to explode, the snaring shit is just useless. The bombs just feel weird.

I'm with you here. I feel like my PC should be able to run the game well, but I'm having some random FPS performance issues no matter what I do to my video settings.

It's not so bad that the game is unplayable, but for a few seconds at a time the game can chug and then go back to normal.

...Also server lag is lame!

so how's the story of the game? I'm interested with the game and the hype is getting to me, but I'm really not a multiplayer kind of guy, I just can't see myself playing this for months or years because well there's a lot other games that I want to play too. most likely I'll just play the single player for the story and beat it, probably try different classes etc, but not gonna replay the game on higher difficulty etc.

is the game worth it if I don't plan of playing multiplayer?

How does the AH gem store work? I just searched for a perfect topaz, tried to buy it, removed my gold but no gem for me after an error message.
