That's probably the most complained about boss. It's cheap, it's long, and it's aggravating. I know your pain (I dread doing it on hell/inferno)

Funny that the most complained about bosses in Diablo are in the end of Act II.

I think Blizzard did it on purpose to pay homage to Durial, well
Belial
is no Durial Blizzard! Well at least in Normal he ain't..

What's your "weapon" then? what does it provide?

I was turned off when i used the witch doctor in the beta, and he was holding a spear, but always just used his blowgun.

Your weapons are wands, staffs and if you're going for a battle mage magic swords.

They do let you equip any sword/axe available since damage is also based on your weapon's DPS, but you'll naturally move towards the Wizard based items, due to the bonus+intel they generally provide.

And dude, get the game. It's fun as hell.

Witch Doctors look so badass. I really want to play one for their look alone, but I hear their learning curve is a bit high. I've never played Diablo before so I'll probably stick with something easier on my first go around.

I just did.

site only lists skills up to level 30... is that max level?

Also how do I activate? I bought it digitally, but it's asking for a key on some webpage?

Honestly, being a Diablo newb won't really increase the learning curve. This game is similar to the last 2 but it isn't like anyone that has experience is at that big of an advantage. This game takes a lot of skill stuff from WoW.

If you like the way the WD plays, jump on in. Playing other classes won't make it any easier. The only way to get better at D3 is to play more D3. So basically I am just saying play Diablo until you are good with all the classes. ;p

So, the current situation:

I like my dps, but I am a freaking victim when they start hitting me. Need to up that health.
Yea, looks like a glass cannon build.

You know what's amazing about this game? I'm alternatively playing between DH and Wizard, and having so much fun with both.

Seriously, when a game has you playing it twice without feeling bored or frustrated, it deserves a 10/10.

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably mess around with most of the classes until I find something that sticks.

Now to finish this quarter of school and board the Diablo train. The wait is killing me.

I finished last boss in NM and I killed him at my first try. ^^
Impale help a lot against him with stun + crit 10k.

So I tried Act 1 Hell, everything is dying very fast for the moment and with 18k hp I can take some hit.
I think the DH is very solid with smoke screen/vault/prep(rune heal).

alright, so serious question: is it okay to just start dumping blues and yellows on the fucking ground?

I have no space anywhere, and I can't auction them because all my auction slots are taken up.

I vendor all my blues and yellow now that I found out crafting sucks. I know they give you shit for value but heck it's better than auction it off!

So basically you either vendor them or just leave them on the ground is my advice.

I'm nearing the end of Act III on Nightmare. I think I'm going to have to redesign my lazy skill setup, since some of the enemies are a pain to fight without moving around a lot and electrocute and disintegrate force me to stand still.

wait so crafting officially isnt worth it ?

in my frustration, I managed to forget about vendors. I'll do that from now on. and yea, crafting seems to fucking suck. lol. maybe we're doing it wrong...but I've not seen anything worth paying 10k to upgrade the dude, then another however much for an item.

I'm happy to say "I don't know." Just seems like at this point, it costs more to upgrade the shop than it does to simply buy good shit from the Auction House.

Has anyone upgraded their shop up to or beyond level 5? If so, what's your take?

So, after playing around for a bit, I can't honestly seem to find a good reason to Dual Wield. I mean, yes, 15% IAS so it nets a damage increase ... but only if the weapons are practically identical (within ~10%). Honestly, off-handing a Shield with sockets for your +Stat Gems will ultimately be a greater damage increase in the long run plus you'll die a lot less often.

@Crafting - The rares you can make from it are pretty much good guaranteed options for the level they are. The gold cost is practically irrelevant, honestly. If you just farm the AH, though, I suppose you'll not find it all that useful but ... you're probably buying crafted items off the AH anyway.

I've had a much easier time with Act 4 Hell than I did with Act 4 Nightmare. Enemies are dying much faster and I've only died two or three times. Now I'm standing outside the boss chamber, and I've got 28 minutes left on 5 stacks of Nephalem Valor, so now it's time for 28 minutes of me getting killed until I switch out Archon for Hydra and find room for Teleport.

So after much struggling in Act II on Nightmare I caved and upped my Vitality, but in the process discovered the amazing Air Mystic Ally for monks. Its like having a fourth stack of Sweeping Wind active and it is amazing.

But rares are expensive to craft. The sad thing about blues is .. you can just go to a vendor, relog and so on. No need to craft.

Vendors have really good stuff for lvling. Like 4-8 dmg socketed rings or armor with xx dex, str, vit.

Yeah I've been buying stuff from the AH which is why I don't craft much. Plus it gives me random magic properties and I never had any luck with them which is why I don't use it too much.

I'm noticing the common trend of a lot of the posters are Comcast. Joyous.

Do you guys actually get your stuff sold on the AH, or is it just too much stuff on there that the chances are small?

I've had a 50/50 effort. Half of it sells, half of it doesn't. It's really hard to price stuff right when we can't search by names for anything except legendaries.

Very much agreed on DWing, especially for Monk. It's a speed increase but a shield with similar stats will provide the same bonus as an off-hand weapon, you'll be just as quick, and have more survivability. I swapped over during nightmare and it was much easier to solo stuff in my 95% Magic Find set.

On that note, I adjusted it some more after playing with the AH and got my DPS up to 2k but still have 95% MF. I'm going to scavenge the AH for more items to boost my DPS/Survival and keep that MF or get it higher for Hell.

In the mean time, I'm discovering a Gold Find build for new characters might be quite nice as a way of earning a bit of cash on the side while you level.

Getting my ass kicked by the final boss on normal. I think I might have been stacking damage and MF for my gear too much and have fucked myself HP wise. Only 1.7k HP as a level 32 Wizard and I just simply can't stay alive, he kills me almost instantly :\.

You have to sell stuff with good stats. Ring with straight +INT and a socket? Will sell (for a reasonable price.) The bow with STR and INT? Not so much. Items with appropriate stats are worth at least a couple thousand - even low level ones. End of normal/early nightmare items with good stats start to edge into the 15-20k at least range. If something has odd stats you're way better off just vendoring or salvaging it. Also, unless the stats are very good in some other respect, if it doesn't have a base stat (INT, DEX, STR) or at least +DMG you're probably going to have a hard time finding a buyer as well.

Just an example the Rare War Sword you can make (Req. Level 29) costs ~4.5k and AHs pretty easily for 6k+ even on duds. If it has a socket and a good stat/+Damage, probably closer to 10k. Not really that bad, honestly.

If you're not using the ah (im not untill I finish soloing normal) the ah is worth it early on. I was wearing pretty much all crafted stuff until the merchants started selling socketed stuff.

When do you get the 3rd artisan? There are 3 right?

I think I have that much HP on my 35 WD on nightmare. :(

Screen%20Shot%202012-05-19%20at%202.41.42%20AMsmall.png

My DPS is 548.85 with Magic Weapon buff.

Gear was starting to frustrate me as I couldn't find exactly what I wanted. I don't think I'm doing that bad for level 26 though. INT+VIT gear is super hard to find, so I mostly just get whatever I can find with most INT and stats that are not STR/DEX.

Hydra is one of my favorite skills now, no cool down and costs almost nothing. I throw him up at the edge of my screen before entering a room so he can start tearing it up before I even get there.
