Just beat Act 1 last boss solo on Inferno. Phew! The enrage on him is ridiculous (if you take too long, the bosses get a special layer of difficulty added onto them), so I had to change my build and lose my nephalem buff. Done for the night, will go back to farming A1 again tomorrow.

And maintenance is done in 15 minutes.

So... what's this AH you're all talking about?

Just beat act 1 boss on Nightmare. Ridicously easy with kamikaze dogs + respawn chance ability, I just kept making them explode and most of them came back to life just to make boom again :D

Act 2 boss on the other hand...

AH means Auction house.

so, what kinds of things drop in difficulties higher than normal? On Giant Bomb, Brad mentioned that the least variety of loot drops in normal. I've seen two of my friends get legendaries, so what else is out there?

as a WD, should I use only weapons with the highest damage? 'Cause I'm using only daggers and that doll but I have swords with higher damage than daggers and snakes/dolls.

and if damage of skills = damage of weapons what's the point of his INT.

So after all the talk about AH I decided to try it myself. It pretty much turned out the way I expected it to. With only 20.000k gold I ruined the rest of my normal playthrough and probably a good portion of the nightmare for me. I bought a weapon which is way overpowered for only 10k, spent the rest on rubins. I now do damage around 400 instead of 180 before. I won't find better loot for a long time and the game is now easy as piss. The AH imo really is something that shouldn't be there. It's like it destroys the original meaning of the game.

I've messed on the AH.... and fortunately haven't done this yet. well, sort of but nowhere near as bad as you did. I've gone through like 3 yellow drops where I was like "oooohh... perfect for me.. oh wait, my current is already better :(" but most recently it was "the same", so yeah.. I am staying off of the AH.

This is my WD.

Toads has been modified with rain rune for that sweet aoe.

I'm pretty sure 1 INT = 1% damage. Tooltips say it's based on weapon damage, but that is scaled by INT.

I just went to the official forums, looking for any official news I may have missed and yikes that place is insane. I'm pretty sure every thread was started by either a crazy fanboy or a screaming child. I think I'll wait for any news to trickle down to gaf.

Just finished normal, absolutely loved the game. Going to take a break and go right into nightmare.

WD stats at end of normal

People must have short memories, because duping/trading in D2 made normal a complete joke, just like the AH can do in D3. I had to set the game to /players 8 to stay awake in normal, even with the difficulty raised, normal was still very easy. Dont twink or use the AH, if you want to play with some difficulty in normal. Diablo games will always remain easy in normal, if you use the best gear, it is going to be even easier. It is normal though, play the higher difficulties if you want a challenge.

This is the rule for every official forum for every game ever. Never Go to them.

Shoulda been here on launch day.....

The thread was moving so quickly with repetitive garble

I'm a total diablo newb but is it normal that I enjoy SP more then MP?

I really wish you could cancel auctions people haven't bid on yet, or at least give more the 10 slots. At least someone actually bought the normal boots I put up for 100.

The Auction House is almost guaranteed to get a revamp at some point. Functionality is way too limited at the moment. You can't even sort by bid, let alone expiry time.

Finally finished normal. I have 24 hours in with my Barb.

At the end of Act III I only had about 150 dps. The Act III Boss took forever. Got a little fed up with that so I tried my hand at crafting and got this:

That improved my DPS to about 450 once I put whatever crap gems I had lying around into the swords. Then I put some really crappy gems into my pants and chest piece. Have no idea if this is any good. But crafting was interesting. What I can say is that the game got a lot easier after crafting these. Oh man, was creaming act IV. Wish I had done it sooner.

Speaking of revamp, id like to see them add the same popup window for when comparing followers equipment. Its very difficult to compare stats currently when equipping the folls. I just need a green and red indicator if anything.

Woot, one shotted Act 2 endboss. Binding move to a button prevented missclicks and having a 1H weapon meant that I didn't get locked on to a long swing animation. Easy dancing.

He does hilarious amounts of damage. 7k per swing and I have 60% armor DR+ 30% barb DR.

I'm not sure why people knowing it'll break their game are using the AH and then turning around and almost complaining about their decision. (Not pointed at anyone in general, just saying.)

If I were those people I'd take a loss and drop it on the ground.

I won't touch the AH unless I get really, really stuck much deeper in the game.

No need to take any real loss by dropping or vendoring them - just sell them back for roughly the same price you bought it at if you've gotten overpowered stuff at the AH and found it dampens your fun. Others will probably buy them if you did.

If you want to make regular looting more enjoyable and prosperous while using the AH, concentrate on simply buying Magic Find items (and fit a decent topaz gem(s) on your helm) with some Gold Find as well (you can frequently find both buffs on the same items).

I'm playing with a Magic Find/Gold Find build and it's good times. I haven't gotten to Nightmare yet so I'm curious to see how it'll work there.

For damage purposes I've found the Soul Harvest + Gruesome Feast passive combo with Witch Doctor to be magnificently - even hilariously - effective. Both stack 5 times, Soul Harvest giving you a straight INT buff with each enemy, and Gruesome Feast critically giving you a 10% INT buff for each health globe you eat up. Any other WDs using that?

With one working with basic additions and the other percentages, they are incredible in tandem. Given how frequently health globes drop on Normal, I pretty much constantly have a comically huge INT stat and thus DPS (and resistances for higher difficulties) without necessarily needing substantial equipment buffs.

Zombie Dogs also has a rune attached to it that increases chances of a health globe dropping when they die, but in practice it's not incredibly effective due to the 60 second cooldown (and health globes already drop liberally enough on Normal; might be more useful later on). Granted none of this is really necessary at all on Normal, but it's still fun to be so immensely overpowered and bowl over enemies since it's easy regardless of what you do. Quite intrigued to see how Nightmare and especially Hell will go.

Oh yes. In the later acts of normal I was nearing 1300dps with 5 stacks of both up. Was ludicrously easy, just drop a grasp and acid cloud and everything dies, lol.

Expecting it to not be as simple on nightmare though hopefully.
