i suppose as a Witch Doc i should really take the Templar as companion with me right? (kinda as a tank and a healer)

damn shame since he's really boring especially compared to the scoundrel who is AWESOME, he just keeps insulting me and others and is generally being a huge dick, love the guy but he dies so fast :(

Load him up with +vit items then. They get 2.5 the value of raw stats. Templar can be a gigantic meat shield if you just load him w/ +str +vit.

E: Oop you were talking about the scoundrel weren't you? Still +vit would help, along with that vanish skill he gets.

did you use the vanishing dye?

if so there is another dye that undoes the effect

I used tanners dye or something like that, from the merchant of act 2, the fat dude

edit: It's fixed now. I didn't know there was a invisible dye. Almost gave me a heart attack

Was going to ask earlier but I forgot; I started up a DH today and made my way through Act I and into Act II. With the Monk and the Wizard I had a general style going on by that point.

With the DH all I've been doing so far is shooting stuff, then running away, then shooting some more. Does the class start coming into its own once certain abilities are unlocked? (at level 16) I tend to play archery characters in most games, but this one doesn't seem crazy enough for this game. Especially after coming off a monk

Fucking hell. Shouldn't have rolled barbarian. Can't do shit if the monsters get the correct affixes.

And this was something simple - knockback mortar horde. But nope, one knockback later and I get a shitload of mortars in my face and get instagibbed.

Might want to ask this dude for some tips:
When does this game get more challenging? I'm a barbarian and just beat Act I on nightmare. The only time I died I got one-shot by a 3-purple group, but other than it's just so easy. All the bosses in normal mode I was able to beat with just my two mouse buttons.

daaaamn. dat doctor.

I think that's true for all classes though. Monsters can take control away from you way too often and with the incoming damage.......

Wow, just beat Act IV Nightmare and that was a crazy crazy fight. For a bit it was just me alive, and I had to revive the other 2. Revived one and then distracted while that guy revived the other one. We died quite a bit during the fight, though I think I stayed alive the whole time. Monk healing mantra saved us there.

The way public games work really suck the fun out of the game for me at the moment. I hope they can somehow fix that......

Yeah, it really sucks compared to D2... I really don't get why they did it this way, except I guess to force people to add friends and stuff.

Just beat normal for the first time (yes, I'm slow) with a Barbarian. Had a ton of fun! What a great game.

At about the mid-way point through Act III I really started maxing out +str and dps in general, I finished my Normal run with 680 damage at level 31. I just MOWED through Act IV, and the end boss was pretty easy, only had to use 1 pot.

Yeah but melee has to get into the thick of it. I see ranged running around with 20-25k hp in Hell, while I just upgraded to 38k just to reliably survive basic monsters.
And monks cheat.

Aaaand I'm back home ♥ Ahhh, feels so good... no place better than home, huh? The air is really refreshing in here :lol
So, Yoshi, final verdict? :D
:3 I will eventually post my verdict.

You need a build with a good balance of skills that will let you control the mobs around you... I can freely push back or bring closer mobs all the times. Granted I'm only at the beginning of nightmare but that shit is easy.

Monks and barbs get that sexy automatic 30% damage reduction, too.

It's absolutely needed. I have that and 60% armor and I still get pounded if the mobs have anything fancy.

That's because it is. Have you seen Vortex + Fire chain yet? Hell could have that with something fun on top of that. Let's say Shield so they go invulnerable periodically.
Currently I have Frenzy, Seismic Slam, Ground Stomp, Revenge, War Cry and Battle Rage.

Worst special mobs I hate to face are the ones with the arcane beams. If you're in a tight corridor with no open space, and they summon like 3-4 arcane beams...you're fucked.

You SHOULD be afraid of inferno!

Nah, I just press 1 for a three second godmode or 2 to tumble away for god knows how far. Love DH, btw.

The worst is when they summon those beams and they're those enemies that drop meteors on you or whatever the red circles on the ground are. The meteor enemies slow down my framerate so bad I can barely do anything, and they run away and knock you backwards it seems.

So many babas on GAF :3 I love it!

edit: what's that first passive you have? I'm trying to remember... is it the one you get 25% more damage if you're at full rage?

Is there a guide or a list somewhere for more info about the Dyes? Are they merchant specific, difficulty specifc? etc..

For example where can you get the Golden Dye?

Is there no way for auctions without buyout options to end earlier than after the time runs out, after like 36 hours?

Bidding for stuff seems pointless when the auction's not gonna end in forever, after I've probably leveled up several times and maybe found better stuff myself.

Also, the things I've put up there and nobody's bidding for I'd rather just take down and reduce the price or sell in-game or whatever.

What do you guys do with all of your gold items that you're not going to sell to the AH but can't use? I'm running out of room in my bag and stash...

You know I will never forget! You know it! :D
Forgiveeeeeeeeen, not forgotten!
♥ Thank you for your forgiveness :3 So many people are still salty about my DkS hyperbole-review...

can anyone explain me why my follower (templar) does shit damage? even if he has a decent weapon

Scoundrel and Enchantress are better for damage. They aren't going to do a lot but think of them as additional points to your own. Their damage is only a fraction of your hero's and rely heavily on their modifiers so if you want to increase their damage, stack them and give them a strong high damage weapon.

What do you guys do with all of your gold items that you're not going to sell to the AH but can't use? I'm running out of room in my bag and stash...

I chuck them for gold (NPC or AH) or salvage them. I've mostly been selling them to the vendor because there aren't that many that are really desirable enough to take up space on the AH recently.

The rares? Really depends, all the time I have 10 items on the AH and some stuff in the stash. Some of them have some meaningless stats, because I think most people look for the main attributes like Intel/Dex/Str. If it doesn't have those, I usually vendor or salvage them.

I hate it when you're looking for something specific on the AH, and you move to something really cheap, expecting it to suck and surprisingly it's way better than what you needed. You click buyout as quickly as you physically can, and then bam, not available anymore. feels bad :(

I don't understand why they bothered making whites/greys drop if they are only going to be worth 1-10 gold. Might as well just have that roll drop nothing. At this point all greys/whites do is make me look over gems on accident, and accidentally pickup the trash during combat filling my inventory seems silly.

Also, does buying the game digitally give me any guest passes to hand out? Not sure how it works.

the guy(s) who beat inferno solo just cheesed it with a broken skill combo that makes you almost invincible except vs. DoTs

wizard using force armor & zero +vita on equip. all stats into INT

blizzard will obviously nerf/hotfix this as it's a broken, abusable mechanic

step 1) pick wizard, get to inferno
step 2) skip all content in inferno and rush to the quest bosses
step 3) kill act bosses with tactic above, making you nigh invinicble

Server issues and story aside, I'm having a great time with my girlfriend in co-op. Her monk and my witch doctor make for a pretty great combination so far. Can monks still tank well in the later difficulties?

Most of our encounters right now revolve around Monk's Eye of the Storm, WD Ubreakable Grasp+Spider Queen+Acid Rain. I suppose I could pick up Bad Medicine if she ever had damage reduction problems.
