Even GameCube and GBA dev kits are still under NDA. Nintendo considers the design of those things trade secrets, and are very protective about images getting out. This guy truly was a moron, and should feel lucky that Nintendo isn't really the type of company to sue individuals.

And you can be sure that, if he was a true TT employee and not just a temp from an external testing company, TT is in big trouble; after a leak like that Nintendo definitely wouldn't trust them with early info in the future, no matter how minor, or how important the info is to TT's work.

Yeah, this just killed a major E3 reveal.

I doubt they'd even spend a second on the controller redesign.
They'll just whip it out like it's always been like that.

which is why i think there is just the tinyest chance this could've been a nintendo sanctioned leak, 2 weeks til e3, not stealing any of the press conference thunder, get people (well gaf) excited

E3 cancelled, then?

They found out about the new sticks on the controller. CLOSE IT DOWN!!

but i didn't have the pictures, and i would have not posted them if it was the case

and i want to have a total control on the OP, to edit the message, clarify some points, that's why, don't be so unkind :p

Oh, okay didn't see that. Let's be honest though... you kinda like the attention. :P

I'm not sold on Jumpman knowing anything about GTA for Wii U, but his location is Southern California. Rockstar San Diego, responsible for Read Dead and the RAGE engine that powers GTA IV, is is in Carlsbad, CA.

Grasping at straws here to a certain extent...

bgassassin might be able to help here, he gave a wink to Jumpman a few pages back. bg, do you have any insight on his position in the industry, or am I reading way to far into this?
I think Rockstar North (Scotland?) handles the GTA games.

The little square, it's where Reggie hides!

Haha, great stuff. When you turn the WiiU off it will show Reggie with 'What's wrong with you?'

You guys are overreacting to what seems like an overreaction.

E3 is about games.

The controller looks significantly altered but not redesigned enough to be anything most people would care about shown during the presentation.

Same with the console.

Unless it has a total redesign and functional additions, they should show it in the air for a minute and then start hitting us with game footage.

Sticks are great but that's not what E3 is about.

I don't use this nickname elsewhere, i don't have any personal blog, website, donations links, tied to this account, etc etc. It's the contrary actually :p

But if i react like that tonight it's because it's a nightmare lol, 1 day before doing it :D
Next time i won't make the same mistake

Your reveal was sticks???

You got to come stronger than that, bro.

Make the haptics thread already and you'll be king of neogaf.

I might be on the verge of a meltdown here, so I'll just walk away as soon as I posted this.

I HATE this controller. It's like Nintendo stripped out all the nuances of their past controllers to make an otherwise generic controller with a screen on it. This is definitely revised to cater to the FPS crowd... but I have no desire at all to play a FPS on that thing and I won't buy any FPS that doesn't offer Wii Remote controls. The most infuriating aspect is that all these changes imply that the emphasis for FPS will be on the controller and pointer controls will be ignored. This is moving backwards.

Trust in Treyarch and BlOps2 to set the standard for every FPS after to use pointer controls as an option. Otherwise, those studios will look lazy and "behind the times" for a change.

So today we got analog sticks, we basically got GTA5 confirmed :P

And also IdeaMan doubters ate some crow. All in all a good day.

Doubting IdewaMan's legitimacy isn't common sense.

Doubting whether his reveals are bigtime is fine.

He'd have to be a complete waste to be so thorough with his information, he's much more of a "help" than a hindrance here.

It helped pass the time.

So ideaman, tomorrow you'll post the big news in your own thread?

This news about the controller is nice, specially because we have a picture with it. But i think it's not that huge. It's something good to know for some people that don't like circle pads.

I wonder what the reason for the change actually was - did Nintendo think those nubs weren't the real thing or did third-party put pressure on them?

I must have missed it: where?

dafuq is this?

x-posted from the other thread

The most important part about this controller revelation is the green accents. That points heavily toward Jumpman23 being an insider, and thus his post about GTA V coming to Wii U in October 2012 all the more interesting.

He's posted about GTA in the past, too.. Is he feigning uncertainty and posing his hints as a question? He lives in Southern California... where are the Rockstars various studios located?

Also.. it looks like the home button has a light around it to be used for notifications. Was that always there?
.

100% is was third parties saying "Hey, we want this in your controller" and Nintendo adding it.

I don't know but I bet third party feedback made them change their mind.

Now if it had 3DS circle pads, I could see it being a "rough draft" but I'm not convinced they weren't going to keep the slightly different circle pads we all saw on the previous form of the controller, I bet they were strongly considering going with them.

Not confirmed, but extremely likely.

RE Ideaman: Any hints about the other topic you wanted to make? Just in case it's revealed as well?

I repeated nearly all to lherre, except one big thing
and the main bulk was like 1 month ago, in april, like my quote is indicating.

So at worst case, if everything is revealed until the 21, he will come and say "he told me that".

But i'll be so owned lol

hint: there's something that hasn't really been guessed from the DRC picture
