Can someone explain the huge frog?

Does just shooting it out cause damage? It doesn't seem to be able to eat all enemy types so in those cases does it still do damage on contact or is it useless?

What are you guys using as your setup for your Witch Doctors? I like Acid Rain and the fire frogs.

in hell with a group of three, two, four, and nothing is working. I think he's designed for four monks to just OP him into oblivion.

400 ping isn't helping. Not.One.Bit.

Fucking EVIL trash packs in this game Christ, its like Blackwing Lair on steroids. Three fire trail guys and they ALL whirlwind and Im just standing there as a Monk like... "...Welp, ok".

If you're not playing with good headphones on, I recommend you give it a try. The bass and the audio in general in this game is amazing. Combat feels ridiculously good between the crunch and boom of your skills and the FX flying everywhere.

Normal mode could stand to be a little harder. There were a few parts that I found difficult so far, but a lot of it is very easy, especially when you can stack defensive skills and still blow people up with your offense. Given that the death penalty is so forgiving, I wouldn't mind if they upped the difficulty.

How come dmg+ increase DPS so much more than primary stats+, my DH gets 20+ DPS with just 2~5 dmg+ and just single digit increments with like +20 DEX.

Agreed, the sound design is amazing in this game.

Witch Doctor is going to be my next character so I'm interested in this too.

I'm so disappointed in Blizz, just logged in after finishing some work and big lag again. Tracing the server ip returns the "normal" ping which is good...

Fix your shit :(

End of normal feels like shit now and it's a grind now anyway because the bosses can't even finish their little speech before they die LOL. Even without raping the AH it's easy to become overpowered as a barb it seems.

So I was happily dual wielding with a dps of under 1400...then equipped a shield and it went up to 1900 or so.

I'm curious about this - I guess your shield gives you +30 or so extra damage? The math behind dual wielding needs to be reworked me thinks.

My 3man group of barb, monk and wizard had trouble with this too...we were dying pretty early on every time until I tried using the Sprint ability buff, which made it a lot easier to avoid the poison explosions. Did it in one try after that

Welp, I attempted to do so, but the game said if I go back to that quest, I'll lose all of my progress (now in act 3). I'll catch it in Hell mode.
You just go back from the start of your current quest instead of a checkpoint, you don't really lose anything. Feel free to go back to old quests without worry.

This game is awesome. Been playing all week with various characters. I haven't when finished Act 1 on normal. I can't remember the last time I was so hooked. This game delivered. (not talking about the server issues though)

I'm having issues with lag but in a weird way. When I boot the game up, it runs super fast and smooth. Within seconds, it goes to a super crawl. Like, click and a full 2 sec before attack animation. What gives? It's unplayable.

I thought it was settings, but if it's Default, or Low (all settings), it still happens. Whenever I change settings and get out of menu, it runs silky smooth again. A few seconds later, it crawls. Is this my hardware, servers, some setting I should change?

It really shouldn't be this bad... I didn't have this kind of issues playing witcher 2, and that's got to be more demanding.

Thanks to Hazard, Act II of Hell is finally in the bag. Good lord is that boss fight bad, and even more so when you are lagging.

If I didn't know it before, I know it now: Monks are OP, and anyone that has chosen a different class is doing it wrong, myself included.

Is it even possible to complete Hell on solo mode? Im not there yet but i keep hearing people having trouble in groups.

It's possible. Easier, some would say. Until you get to a particularly difficult boss.

Explains why people who played as Monk said it was too easy.

That's good ol' server lag. It's been generally okay for me but lots of people are experiencing it, especially during prime times.

That's so frustrating (just got the game this afternoon).
I popped into a buddy's game whose on the other coast and he said his game was smooth as butter. And I'm in his game and walking through quicksand. What a buzz kill. Are people still experiencing this?

Side question, is there a way to turn on visible FPS so I can see how bad it gest?

Oh yeah, sound design is awesome, but they could still tone the volume down or at least adjust the music to where it plays abit higher than the sounds at all times. Still salty that the title screen music is insanely loud, yet you have to crack everything to max just to hear the music in game over sound.

just beat it on Normal

got 4 blues that were worse than my old stuff, 3 rares, 1 not for my class, 1 worse than my stuff and 1 shield that was a little better

also I bought a sword for my level in the middle of act 2 (level 23) for 1000 gold and i ended up using it the whole game because i never found anything better

I ended up using a bunch of random armor crap with some gems and I seriously only died maybe 2 times from the middle of act 2 to the end of the game

man, i dont know if i feel like playing Nightmare, maybe in a week or so

Ctrl-R, or Fraps.

Also there's a latency bar just to the left of your resource orb. You can mouse over it to check your ping more precisely. Typically if the bar is green it'll be playable. If it's orange or especially red, you're dealing with notable lag.

Just make sure to play co-op with as many simultaneous players as possible.

I've gone from not liking the Demon Hunter all that that much to really liking it. At the same time I don't really like the fact that 80% of the things I kill are off screen. Isn't as satisfying to me I guess. Eh maybe I'm doing it wrong. I didn't play much D2, and the two other classes I played in D3 so far have been barb and monk.

oh yeah, I was Barbarian and I was just dominating.

earthquake with the rune that did extra damage brought down huge groups and bosses in seconds

Can anyone answer a simple question about the AH for me?

I'm looking for a new powerful weapon for my wizard after coming into some gold from a sale of my own. When I sort by DPS, do the DPS stats include any rune or gem or whatever it is affixed to the item?

I ask because I saw one that had, say, 30 DPS, and then at the bottom was a red gem and it said something like +10 - 12 damage? Would that be on top of the 30 DPS or part of the 30 DPS?

Indeed. The one I hate is two packs, a yellow and a purple (normally combined by accident as we are trying to kite one) and you end up with IceBurst Shards + Arcane Lasers" LOLLineofsight Walls all in a narrow corridor on Hell.

FML.

Yes it factors in the rune assuming theres a rune it in. If the socket is empty, the weapons dps will increase once you socket a red gem.

hell difficulty is amazing and yet terrifying..
invul. minions + molten + arcane
= :(

exploring is much more fun now.

first HC victim, Wizard lvl 37 @ Act II NM (after 22h) :(((

that sucks, dude.. RIP. I dunno how you guys are playing HC right now - my latency (which was between 70 and 100 the first day or two) is constantly yellow/red now and I lag all over the place. it really makes the game harder than it should be.

Okay thanks a bunch.

No, it doesn't include those runes when calculating for the AH

I'm pretty sure the AH does not factor that in. I've bought stuff with gems, and also when you compare to the weapons in your hand with a gem it'll show the base DPS sans gem, not what it is with gem. I know this because I've had gemmed weapons pretty much the whole game.

playing alongside my brother's demon hunter is incredibly infuriating - he's skilled his character so that he gains maximum mobility (double vaults, massively increased movement speed and so on) so he's more than twice as fast as I am, which means that I'm always behind while he farms all the minions (and XP) out of my reach - seriously, fuck this

Attack speed from items is confusing. On the weapons I have the buff applies to the weapon itself, but I have a helm that adds it flat to my character.
