Hell act 2 is really hell.

Molten frozen fire chains, invincible minios molten, frozen arcane jailer(that is especially classy)....

I must go on.

fuck yeah i just unlocked FIrebomb on my doc and so far i was a fervent defender of Blowdarts with splinter rune... but THIS this fucking bomb feels AWESOME it does a crap ton of splash damage or at least it seems that way...

any thoughts on the direct comparison between the two damage wise? i think firebomb might be better against packs of mobs and darts better for single target? that make sense?

Damn the more I read this thread, the more I dislike the idea of AH. It's like straight on cheatmode for the game.

Still going 100% natural and wrecking shit.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for selling stuff on the AH? I put a bunch of rares up on it at their default selling price, but nobody bid on any of them, are people only buying legendary items or something?

There is just too much stuff on there. I bet much more is offered than sold. I sold nothing so far, even at very cheap prices. The whole system is completly flawed.

It's just flooded with items and searching sucks. Unless it has a buyout there is little chance anyone will find it much less bother bidding if it actually good.

It's just flooded with items.

Low level items. People are finishing Normal in around 10-15 hours and going through several tiers of gear. The auction house would function better at a high level since not so many of those items exist or, are being generated at a much slower rate.

Add to that, a lot of people aren't going to feel up for Hell and Inferno so they'll stop buying stuff past level 50 or so.

So far I find Act IV more than disapoinitng for a final act in a diablo act. It looks like it's straight out of some manga movie. :( The one thing that made Diablo 1 so amazing was just going deeper and deeper and deeper knowing that with every step downstairs you get closer to hell. It just was a cool concept. Diablo III in comparison is very generic (as was DII though the last area there at least resembled something I'd expect from a diablo game).

the settings more remind me of the champions of norath games. :/

Haven't had problems personally since the first night, and even then I was pretty early in. But now I am fucked. I managed to login after a while, but now it won't let me play. Error 300008 or something.

error 37, just in time to mark the 1 week anniversary. But hey, gotta do what you gotta do to fight them pirates.

2+ years was not enough to digest it? Was not enough to treat Diablo III as it is: an online game with the option to solo content? -.-

They seriously need to get their shit sorted out.
We're nearing a week since release and the servers are still crapping out.

Not to mention that I have to play with lag around 100 to 200ms every time I play...there's so much fail in this game I'm almost pissed that I caved in day 1. I hope Blizz really puts all its effort to make the game shine like it should've from day 1...

Yup. EU maintenance now.

My wife just started playing Diablo 3 a few days ago. Today she was playing Skeleton King for the first time as the "server shutdown in 2 minutes" popped up in the chat. She didn't spot it and I didn't mention it as she was doing really well for a first timer. I watched her kick ass, while "1 minute", "30 seconds", "10 seconds" warnings came up. She got SK to 10% health and then got booted out of the game :D

Lol Blizzard, Sunday afternoon maintenance, really?

When you do a public quest from a quest you have already done, when you are back in single player mode do you keep your farthest progress?

i.e I'm just starting act 3 but if I want to help a buddy out in act 2 will I be back in act 3 when I resume on my own?

I lost progress when I was using the starter edition and have been nervous to test it out in my real game ; )

Sort of. When you leave your friends game the 'Resume game' will take you to where you left your friends game. To get back to where you were before that you have to go via select quest.

to death.

The game got really hard somewhere around the second half act of 3 and forward, had to change my build a tons of times.
Finally ended up with a tanky stunlocking shout Barb and didn't die too much, though there were some vampiric blues that I just couldn't kill.

Was bit sad that I couldn't use the builds that I wanted to use. Hopefully that won't be a problem if you got good enough gear. It would suck if everyone ends up with the same build in Hell/Inferno just because everything else is too weak.

I don't know what's worse, the problems you guys are having or your inability to allow Blizzard to try to fix said problems. Damned if they do and damned if they don't. Every maintenance is for your long term benefit, despite the current inconvenience. It is a shame that they have these problems but moaning about it isn't going to make it go any faster.

They had 10 years to make this crap work. Well ok, They decided to build the system last year. It is more troubling that blizzard knows the world is not ready for always-online gaming just yet and they still apply this. But no matter. With the way The loot drops are right now, RMAH is going to fail and this DRM loses it's false reason to exist and people hopefully wake up.

Just think they should choose their timing better. There was no mention of this outside the game. But it was planned enough to let everyone know in-game about it prior to it happening.

What about if you use the spoiler tag?

That's one way to look at it.

Another one is that they spent probably some 8 years making this game, several years in various states of alpha and beta testing, and have collected in excess of 200 millon USD already from people for a license to play the game.

From that perspective it's not in any way unreasonable to except a bit more robustness in their operation.

Because if they have not been spending all those years in online infrastructure then I don't know what they've been doing - in terms of the content the game is pretty light. Balancing maybe? It would be really interesting to actually understand where all those years went.

yes, because theres a problem that they need to fix. You'd rather they not fix it?

What was the problem and why do they have to fix it now as opposed to something like 4 am tomorrow morning? All my friends seemed to be able to play the game just fine until they took down the servers.

They obviously werent working on this for that long. It feels like it got 2 years of focused development maximum. To be honest, I'd bet my right hand, if the game wasn't named Diablo and didn't come from Blizzard, no one would be talking about it, because the qualiy of the game just isn't something to write home about.
