So, i got bored with my Witch Doctor in Hell difficulty at the moment

Whats a good alternative class to play and can be useful in multiple groups, especially in higher difficulties? Barbarian? Monk? Wizard? Barbarian or Demon Hunter?

Monk is SUPER helpful in a group. Great buffs, heals, stuns and tanking-abilities.

I'm always very understanding that problems occur and shit happens. I didn't say a word about the game launch or the problems that came with it but not able to play on a sunday which is pretty much my only "play as much as you want" day is bullshit.

Hells to the yes my man.

Well, there is ~20hours down the drain. My With Doctor was defaulted to an EU server even though I'm in Canada. Got to start over from scratch again.

"Hey let's default Canadians to EU and EU people to US, that'll make some fun camp night stories right?!"

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not. This thread. Jesus christ. :/
Spookie, my man... normal is the tutorial. That's pretty much a known fact.

And they decided to change it. They did that to a lot of the mechanics.

more like all mechanics, it's not evolution it's revolution. Game feels like some ARPG like Ys Seven...

honestly if someone could change name and few characters like dacart and diablo, bhall etc. i wouldn't know if it is Diablo.

Game is good but nothing outstanding as D2 was when hit my computer.

just pick another one you like, it's not like very class has a specific role, they are all able to handle themselves and all have abilities that help others in groups in a way.

It's just flooded with items and searching sucks. Unless it has a buyout there is little chance anyone will find it much less bother bidding if it actually good.

Actually bidding, and waiting for anything up to two days is pointless at the moment (Act II, Normal). So glad I got outbid on the armor I was looking at on Friday, by the time I had been outbid it was laughably inadequate for what I wanted, and I almost paid 7000 gold for it.

Buyouts are going to be great for players working their way through normal, whereas actual bidding will only really kick off for top tier legendary and uniques I think.

with mobs three shotting me in hell difficulty, I've found that running a smoke screen heavy build on DH is the best way to go (best as in lazy). don't even need to move, just need to spam multi-shot (suppression fire) and preparation (battle scars) and I can basically beat any elite mob, yay. though I need a completely different skill set for act bosses. who needs vit when you got 20k dps!

So should I pour my nearly achieved 100k gold into the mysterious item thingy (account bound?) or just upgrading stash/artisans?

I picked Monk to play on the side along with the WD. It's a nice change of pace to try to tank mobs instead of keeping a distance, though I'm still on normal.

Upgrading or preferably buying items from the AH.

The mysterious thing
is for the secret level which apparently doesnt even drop good loot.

Turtling the bosses with hydra is surprisingly fun :lol

So I've been getting microstuttering like this since the first day of the beta: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iukY2L8PpSM

Is this affecting everyone? Do some people just not notice it?

Things I've tried that have no effect:

Installing to a SSD
Disabling sound (in-game and at the driver level)
Lowering graphics settings to the bare minimum
Changing CPU affinity to one or two cores
Setting the D3 exe to disable visual themes and desktop composition

Is there any way to hide those crap UI from screen ? I mean minimap, chatbox, quests, etc. Game looks sometimes awasome (- mobs) and this UI completly destroy imersion.

Is it even possible to have so much DPS?

fmyl9.jpg

Yeah, because he does. He also has 180 vit and dies to any DOT. The build he used to solo bosses in inferno is worthless anywhere else, but it was clever

Hmm.. my productivity have sky rocketed today. I wonder why.

On my way on finishing Act 2 on nightmare with my DH (my friends have Wizard and Monk). Have passed 2k dps now. Will be looking for more awesome drop once the EU servers are back up again.

No way to hide the hotkeys right now :(

I do have to agree that the Auction house kind of ruins the fun.

For a few thousand gold I can deck out my character in rares that will obliterate anything that'll drop in the next 10 levels. It made 99% of the looting completely trivial. Only picking it up to salvage or vendor.

I hope this changes somehow in the later difficulties. I'm currently in Act II of nightmare.

The AH is bizarre. I've just taken to vendoring every non-weapon rare/yellow that I don't need myself. I found a lvl 25 off-hand that I thought was really good. I went to the AH and did a search on max buyout 5000 and there were tons of pages. 2000. 1000. 500 just for the laughs and it finally got down to only 5 pages of items available. Why would people do that? The item vendored for 365. It's not even worth my time.

Here is my wizard build right now on normal. Basically I just drop a hydra, wade into mobs, spam frost nova and wave of force for distance, blast some electricity / arcane orbs as necessary. Rinse and repeat while kiting, Firing off diamond skin if things get hairy.

Anyone have any recommendations? I've messed around with every skill I've unlocked but nothing else has really grabbed me so far.

Some changes I like. The horrendous labyrinth design from D2 is gone. I don't have to restart a new character just to try a new build. Instead of having dozens of potions drop, they turn some into the health vitality, etc.

But then you get the 6 spell limit. Syngeries are present, but you don't really get to craft it like in D2. Cooldowns are bullshit. No portal zerg. Etc. Basically they took over a lot of WoW mentality, or better to say limitations to break the game. If I wanted to pool all my stats into making a tank sorc. Not even the heavens could stop me! Making builds and combinations that completely trivialize the game was awesome. Some people don't like this, but I loved it. Its the same to me as getting to that point in DMC, where enemies can't even touch you. Or having a monoply over a certain asset in an MMO, where you can drive down to 1/4 of what it was or up 2x of what it was. I like this in my games.

I think the biggest personal disappointment is how 60 is end game. Compared to PSO or DII, you never had to get close to the max level. Anything past being able to use the baseline gear, 70ish, was extra credit.

I don't hate the game at all. I've played about 25 hours in 5 days. I adore the addition of the AH(No more having to be in the room and getting luck, rather I can continually work for it). But I can't get this feeling my character creation is hampered going from D2 -> D3. I'm sure a few of my complaints will be gone once the game has more time to play out through items. But I'm not really feeling that ability to jerk around like I did in D2.

You should get a negative achievement for using AH or just different characters for AH games.

AH alone makes it so that I don't want to play with anyone using it ever, unless they make some changes to it. What's the point of trading with people who use AH...

(forever alone)

I have some extra gear I want to sell but I have no idea how much to list it for. Is there any sort of guideline to an item's value based on its stats or whatever? I'm too used to the WoW auctioneer mod doing all my thinking for me.

Yep, when my current no-interest rare auctions inevitably fail I'm just going to vendor the stuff I don't want unless it really stands out.

I guess everyone is trying what I was doing, just get a quick sale for a couple more hundred gold than the vendor offers.

I swear the DPS counter is off a bit. I have a dagger and off-hand item that have about 150 INT combined and it's saying if I equip a bow with no intellect but a 2-3 damage bonus it will give my wizard an additional 50 DPS.

Has anyone else experienced anything weird like that?

Just beat Normal. Barb is 30-31 level. I dumped a lot of MF to up my strength and just started mowing through everything but got a lot fewer rares :( AH is my friend I guess.

Yeah, same here. I guess it's how the engine rolls, maybe because of the always online aspect. I mean it gets worse when lag is worse as well. I didn't even mind fixing it because I'm sure it's just sloppy programming. It's certainly not PC performance related.

I get it as well, though it was less of a problem yesterday.

Does the game even calculate your int to the dps shown?

As far as I know, you have to do everything in the exact order, nothing can be skipped.

Well, that renders online playing for me pretty much useless as long as other people don't join my game. Joining other peoples game doesn't help because you can't progress with your own quests through that. I don't have a fxied group of people to play with every quest in order.

Surely you must be wrong, don't you? That would be so stupid if this is actually true.

x-y damage bonuses boost damage more than skill bonuses.
A lot of Wizard off hand weapons have the '4-5 damage' kinda modifiers because that ups your DPS by a lot

Does the game even calculate your int to the dps shown?
Yes. It counts your major stat.
Int for WDs and Wizards
Dex for DH and Monks
STR for Barbs

get this randomly too, and always get lag just after creating a game, must be their damn servers.

And I just got my first legendary gloves before the EU servers went down, and noticed you can't even Dye the thing ..... what the ... ?
