Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

Loot scaling needs a big overhaul before I get excited about doing any inferno mode stuff.

Sadly, seems like blizzard likes where it's currently at.

I swear the DPS counter is off a bit. I have a dagger and off-hand item that have about 150 INT combined and it's saying if I equip a bow with no intellect but a 2-3 damage bonus it will give my wizard an additional 50 DPS.

Has anyone else experienced anything weird like that?
That comparison only factors in your main hand weapon, so just wear both and see for yourself which combo gives the more DPS. Also speed is as important as brute DPS.

Well, that renders online playing for me pretty much useless as long as other people don't join my game. Joining other peoples game doesn't help because you can't progress with your own quests through that. I don't have a fxied group of people to play with every quest in order.

Surely you must be wrong, don't you? That would be so stupid if this is actually true.

That would also mean that if two players finish one act together, it would count as finished for only one player, namely the player who created the game. Surely that can't be right? Could someone please clarify these topics ? :-/

Well that's awesome. Planned for a 5 hour run. about an hour and half left once Eu comes back online then I'll only be able to play on Tuesday again.

Guess I shouldn't get too excited. 9/10 chance that come Tuesday, It'll be this shit again. Something is wrong when you've played less than the total downtime servers have been experiencing.

Can't play my SP game because servers are down on a fucking sunday.

This is fucking bullshit.

Regardless of whether the actual core game is brilliant, you can't justify this shit. I would've said GOTY contender before, but with these surrounding issues, I can't see myself placing it highly.

Yeah, I must say I'm pretty unhappy about this. I did defend the always online thing, but that was in the hope Blizzard would be competent in providing the service.

I love the game, and I only really plan to play it co-op, so an offline mode being absent doesn't bother me too much, but Sunday afternoon for maintenance? It's beyond moronic.

Hey guys, what's a mouse with good side buttons? I mapped the first 3 abilities to the buttons on my MX518 and it feels amazing, but I'm one button short.

Not looking for something overkill like a Razer Naga, maybe about 6 buttons total.

Is anyone running this mouse only?

Yeah, same here. I guess it's how the engine rolls, maybe because of the always online aspect. I mean it gets worse when lag is worse as well. I didn't even mind fixing it because I'm sure it's just sloppy programming. It's certainly not PC performance related.

Have you guys tried disabling peer to peer downloads in the client options? The other thing that helped me was disabling the framerate limiter, for some reason it would lock the framerate at 50 even though it was set at 60.

Something broke and they're trying to fix it, it's not like they wanted to bring the servers down.

You can skip all you want. AFAIK when you complete a quest it is saved to your "change quest" menu. For example if you started hell and someone invited you to ACT2 Hell and you completed a quest you could bypass act 1 completely.

I don't know how you qualify for the next difficulty though (you might need to at least have all the bosses completedd) but as far as quest progress/etc you don't have to do it in any kind of order and it saves regardless of whether or not you are host.

Is that really true? I swear that I've seen if going from having a 1-hand + off hand weapon equipped and checking if a 2 hander is better it will compare the damage to both items.

That's great news, thank you very much! I planned on doing my playthroughs in bursts from now on in random order. Going through the campagin in order is broing me already, though I didn't it finsih even once. ;D

Co op quests completions count for every player in the game. I haven't tried joining into a quest that I haven't unlocked by jumping into a game on my friendlist however.

I don't care what excuse they use. The message when attempting to login isn't even inline with the message on their website. It's pitiful.

I just hope that at least those that are not preferring online raging as an alternative to playing Diablo III can still express their opinions as well. If something is broken, they are fixing it, end of story.

The game does not have a DRM. It is an online game. The server gives you the loot, the server stores your characters, all interactions are online. I have never seen people asking World of Warcraft: Cataclysm to have an offline-only mode just because you can solo basically all the content from lv1 to 85.

Would be nice for some transparency though. Maintenance doesn't really convey 'Shit gone borked'.

Are we talking about banking or a video game not operating for a few hours? O_o

The same effect can be achieved with a completely offline system and have the same experience, minus some auction house features most likely.

Same cannot be said for WoW. Which is why people are pissed. Saying the game is online why are people complaining is a lame excuse.

The reason the game is programmed that way is for DRM purposes. This isn't an MMO.

Good lord that's obnoxious; opinions are great and all but I cannot fathom how some of you are defending this.

Those requests would have been there if WoW allowed it at one stage or another. Instead of crusading the fight, just accept that people will compare this constantly and no amount of 'Well you knew what your getting youself into' will change that view.

Lol honestly, get your head out of the ground.

Watching through the cinematics again... fuck me.
Yes! Beat Normal! :)

Lvl 31 Barb

Armor 1166
DPS 540.27 (though it gets to 860 with buffs :D)

Now to start Nightmare!!!
CONGRATS MAN ♥ !

You cannot or you would not want to fathom it ? :)
For me, it is very simple: Diablo III is considered an online game without subscription fees. End of story. It was very clear to me that this is the case ever since they announced the completely online plan of theirs. The server gives me the loot, the server verifies combat, the server stores data - everything is handled like in a properly built MMO. Would I play Diablo III right now if it was online? YES. Absolutely. But can I wait? Yes. Why? Because I knew what I was going for the day online only was introduced.

You know, I am the guy who seemingly defends everything that Blizzard does. Truth is: I am at peace with them. They can be faulty for all I care: the game is amazing, and I will continue enjoying it for months, years, so in comparison, what we are talking about now? A post-launch unexpected downtime? Give me a break :)

I didn't ask for an offline mode, I asked for competence, I don't think that's unreasonable.

I'll never be hungry again.

Online arguments do not get to change how others view the world. We share ideas, "battle" viewpoints, and both (all) learn something, that is how it works. I would love to know what would change though if I would be just as enraged as some of you are. Would I stop playing this game, or continue playing it while being mad at it at the same time? That does not sound like fun in my book...

One step ahead of me: if there is one thing that really SUCKS about Blizzard is the way they are handling EU. I mean..just look at this..

Guild Wars 2 is an online game without subscription fees. Diablo 3 is a highly regulated single player game that has an always online DRM to prevent you from doing things that Blizzard don't want you to.

I would love to play with you when the servers gets up! Are you okay with that :3?

Add me on Yoshichan#2623 when the servers are online (that is, if you want) :)

As far as I'm concerned if you're going to force people who only want to play SP into being online then these issues just should not occur.

What is it now, well over 3 hours on a fucking Sunday afternoon? it's inexcusable

Is it me or crafting is worthless ? You find much better stuff by looting/buying at the AH...

Hehe, I am a crafting freak - and only ONE amazing item so far - which I think I sold for less than it was worth, lol. But at least I get to dump my money on levelling up the Blacksmith and trying to get a good item out of it - masochist me?

You know, thats sort of the problem. Blizzard can get away with this shit, while other companies would die in a fire if they had these kinds of problems on game launch. The game SHOULDNT have these technical issues on launch. Work on it for 6 months longer instead of releasing it like this.

You could use the Razer Naga Hex it only has 6 buttons instead of the 12.

I would of gotten that one but I got a awesome deal on the 12 button one

Is there any point in stacking magic find on normal? Do they count towards unique/set things later on?

since loot = crap most of the time. I don't think it will help you at all.

Back in D2 killing boss was super awasome because of loot you could get.

I still remember when i got first real deal loot when i killed duriel on ACT3 normal and i got shield with 45lvl restriction.... and another one when i got some axe with 55lvl on my first diablo kill. I was looking at them and said: "my god, those are amazing !!.. and i dream about them ;)

Now i roll in diablo3 and find loot completly scaled to my lvl, looking like crap both in 2D and in 3D. Most of awasome stuff goes for few coins where i must buy things for xxxx gold...
