Lol.. yeah, about half are. :P

The lowest buyout is over 100K, but the prices are all over the map. I don't want to put it up for some unreasonable cost, but I don't want to screw myself over anyway.

I know the game just started, but man, the AH is so completely out of whack with prices.

Assuming that you can eventually sell it for real money, that might be the better way to do it since gold is so scarce. It'd be a much more impulse buy to see a Legendary go for 5-10 bucks than for 500k gold anyway.

It doesn't help that the Legendary items are practically worthless in terms of stats though. :(

It's a pretty low level Legendary and I've seen it going for 5k or so. I was bidding on a few myself for around that much.

Problem with bidding is that 2 days is way too long. If you bid on an item at level 15, 2 days later you would be on level 30 and that item would be of no use to you.

5K? I've bought rares for more than that.. :\

I really worry about the PVP (if it ever gets added). Even though it's true in most games, it pretty much seems like you're at a disadvantage unless you farm farm farm or blow a lot of real money on the RMAH.

It's gonna be like WoW once was.. if you were lucky enough to be in a good raiding guild, you will dominate PVP.

I'm not sure I'll be around long enough to see that happen, though.

The pure and simple answer for Diablo III's hardcore longevity is inevitably a Ladder.

I cant believe I am saying this, but I actually cant wait for an optional ladder "mode" to start. With only gold-based ah, of course*

*And this is why Blizzard will try to delay this as much as possible -.-

Anyone here make it to act 4 inferno yet? I am halfway through act 2 but would love a invite to act 4 so I can buy the inferno plan of herding. I wanna try out the secret level in Infero, sounds fun ^.^

Farming dem achievements while I wait for my brother to wake up :D

Haven't been able to play the last couple of hours because of error 3006. And flushing my dns didn't work this time. Good job Blizz, good job.

I want a 3006 sigil as compensation.

It's quite frustrating how poorly the conversations are structured for achievements, I really wish they'd let you know when there's something new to be said but it seems completely random whether you get the blue asterisk above their head.

Started my second character last night with the intention of getting all of these, only half way through Act I and I've already missed some of them. :(

Jeez, the last one sold for 65k. I bought 20 for 6k each. They really should fix that you can buy one item multiple times off a vendor.

Yep. Aside from Hardcore (which is probably fine, at least for a long while.) a ladder system, or sufficient sinks/other features that achieve the same effect will become necessary over time.

Personally I loved the idea on one of the Diablo podcasts a short while back that suggested there be a ladder system where at the end of the season players go into a hardcore arena tournament and fight to the death. The victorious player gets to live to fight another day (and/or gets other rewards). I don't know if you'd make the farming PvE part hardcore as well, or just the arena, but I think it'd be a blast either way. And if there was a spectator system? My god, just watching people break down after losing dozens if not hundreds of hours invested into their characters over the course of X months.

Well after a f ew hours of being stuck on updating setup files, I'm in, and loving it. I was going to roll a monk to play with my friend, but after playing the barb for two seconds, its my choice. It was my main choice back in the day, too. (93 barb, highest character I ever had in D2).

Looking forward to the chaos!

So what, I'm fucked on this achievement and I'll never get it because Blizzard are a bunch of incompetent people?

(Did all the requirements, still no achievement)

Ugh... just realized that all those other banner customization options were cut from retail :S

So lame.

Nothing like waking up in the morning and all your gold and half your gear is gone. I am lucky I still have items on my back.

If something like this would happen to me I'd stop playing the game in a flash. Diablo-hat on blanka or not.

The worst part is that even if we valiantly protested like that, all our friends would still continue playing because hey it's the motherfucking diablo. This makes me sick.

The worst part is: you feel sick and yet you bought the game. You already voted with your wallet.

Oh wow, I just recognized the...change on your avatar, LOL! :D

That ending was very stupid.

Who wrote that?

They just threw diablo's body along with the stone back to earth? Wasn't the purpose of the game to destroy the stone? Or I am missing something?

Tyrael now as the Wisdom archangel when he was the most stupid of them all throughout the game?

Really, who write this things?

And in a typical Blizzard way, the good girl becomes bad and Im pretty sure that Imperius will turn bad.

He only voted if he bought the game post-launch. If he bought it day one, he didn't so much vote as he bought a game believing it would actually work the way it was promised to. Imagine that.

I've been having really irritating performance issues, sometimes it runs at 60 perfectly, sometimes it barely holds ten, and there doesn't seem to be any logic in terms of what's causing it, not amount of enemies or location etc. Very frustrating.

Justice, not Wisdom. Also, human.

Gah, Can't imagine a barb running inferno could be fun. Even on nightmare I'm having a shitton of trouble with elites. Normal Mobs and bosses? Shiiit they ain't even on the radar. But (vamperic - ANYTHING Else) fucks me up. The problem I'm seeing is up until nightmare, you mainly do a once off DPS built. Jump in, stun, AOE, AOE and everything is dead. Not with these bad boys. So moved away from my DPS built and started throwing more stuff into Armor, slightly easier, but still trying to figure out a nice combination of skills to support that playstyle. With the lower DPS I can't really do the whole jump and kill thing.

Thinking of pushing my WD, ranged and avoidance seems to be the route I need to take :<

(Not to mention that almost 80% of my rare drops has been almost tailored made for DH)

What? My barbarian is running through nightmare like it's nothing. It's literally no challenge so far.

Here's my build:

Lvl 46 Barbarian - Around 9K health - 2K damage unbuffed - 2 handed sword

M1 - Cleave with Rupture rune for all-around fury building and AoE damage.
M2 - Rend with Blood Lust rune for health regeneration and DoTs.

1 - Leap with Iron impact rune, this is my opener for 99% of battles. These 4 seconds of armor buff are amazing.
2 - Battle Rage with Marauder's rage rune, 30% damage buff which is pretty much always active since it lasts 30 seconds and costs very little fury. Insane DPS increase.
3 - Threatening shout with Grim Harvest rune, 20% damage debuff to all enemies around, with the added bonus that they are 15% more likely to drop additional loot.
4 - Call of the Ancients with the Duty to the Clan rune. This is pretty much the "I win" button for any bossfight or elite encounter. These guys will absolutely decimate anything that's near, giving you plenty of opportunity to get out of hairy situations.

Passives: Weapon Master - Blood Thirst - Ruthless.

Usually a fight opens with a leap into the center of a big crowd with battle rage active, cast threatening shout to debuff the area, and simply hack away. Cleave is amazing when you are surrounded, as it gives you a immediate health injection, and hits everyone around you with a powerful DoT.

Elites are usually dispatched in the same manner, only I activate Call of the Ancients for DPS overdrive. These guys will take aggro and do insane amounts of damage in 20 seconds of mayhem.

I was playing with my friend and the CGI cutscene at the end of act 2 came up. God damn the CGI on leah's eye was amazing... wrinkles on her eyelid and everything. Was some of the best CGI I had ever seen in my life.

MH OK.
why do legendary items suck? I mean I search in the AH and I see crappy legendary items at 200k gold, if I search for rare ones I see good items at 50k.
something is wrong.

Buying it day one regardless whether it is working or not is the strongest voting possible, because it sends the signal that you do not actually care whether it is working or not, you are putting your trust in the product/developers anyway.

Personally, I cant imagine myself not buying a Blizz product day 1 but that is because I jump ahead of myself and check if I will like the game or not. If they announce a simulator or a racer, I would skip that obviously :P

In the EU maintenance time, I went to the Asia server and lol, with sub-150 ms latency, the game WAS smooth, microstuttering gone miracolously - I almost could not believe my eyes, lol. It is definitely network-related.

Cool beans.

Fake edit, fuck I should've played with darkd3 from start. Using balanced settings and I think the game looks 2x as good now.

It really does. First moment it's a bit weird but if you got used to it and you'll try to go back, it's a nogo. Just impossible. It's like something is wrong with your eyes. Sharpness alone is making the game look 10 times better and more "Diablo" and less "WoW imo. Some textures are pretty good which you wouldn't notice before also.

heh my first hours of Diablo 3 last week went

*install Diablo 3, run game*
control-R for FPS ... 400gazillion fps at 1080p maxed ... "meh"

*install Dark D3*
looks good, still runs at max "better but still ..."

*enable maximum ambient occlusion & 4x MSAA + 4x SSAA in nvidia inspector*
down to 90 fps on a GTX670 :D "success!"

670 SLI didn't work well with the AA enabled though (crashes when entering dungeons), so I was testing 2880*1620 downsampling instead but although that does work stable and looks absolutely great it introduces some weird mouse lag/stutters even though it's 45 fps on a single card and 90 fps on SLI :(

but yeah something like Dark D3 sharpening shouldn't be a mod. I mean seriously, just press the [pause] key a few times to turn it on and off. How can anyone like that vaseline smudge look the vanilla game has?

Thanks I might try this. Never used COA for the long cool-down. but makes sense for elites. I'm just a bitter man that's stuck at work and not being able to play atm :<

Yeah also noticed this. When my latency is stable (even at high ms, like 380) then the stuttering almost doesn't exist. But when it jumps, even at lower ms bits, I gets the micros. Hell when it jumps between 200-250 I see the stutters. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a streaming thing. I've actually noticed the game 'adjusting' to higher pings sometime. If I get a stable 500ms latency after a few mins the only stuttering happens when a new animation is called.

Btw. does Dark3D stress the GPU/CPU? I'm already running the game with lowest details @720p.
+
Anyone else playing with Mid 2011 iMac (6700m Radeon Mobile)? If so, what are your settings? I'm getting 60fps with the above settings.

I don't think so. Ambient occlusion though does. I can't run it with my 560TI at a stable 60FPS. :(

Blizz has stated that they do not want legendary items to be the end all of itemization. You'll frequently see rares that have better stats than legendaries (you saw this in D2 in a small sample size) and sometimes even magic items.

How can anyone like that vaseline smudge look the vanilla game has?

It's amazing how much they actually hide the fact that the graphics are actually quite good. The further I've progressed I've realised the graphics are actually pretty nice, but for the most part you can't see it through the blurriness covering the backgrounds. Crazy.

My pc goes crazy during D3, lol...it say that CPU cooler runs on....6400+ rpm, and I can hear the beast LOUDLY.

But, at least, it gets the job done as the CPU is around 51-54c at highest peak, and my GPU is on the 57-63 range during all the hectic times. (Hd4850). Should I be worried that with 6400+ rpm, it will crash and explode in a wild moment or will it wear down in a year or two?
