Diablo III |OT2| Queues Rise. Servers Fall.

You can easily change your build once you have completely decked out your character. Then you can try to mix and match skills, see what works well even in Inferno.

Have to agree about SS + Prep being a staple for late DH. Throwing in Shadow Power in the mix and you are basically invulnerable for a considerable time of the battle.

About to finish NM tonight and I'm wondering if there's any viable build for WD without Soul Harvest. I want to try other things but damn I like that damage buff...
If there is, I'd like to see it. Soul Harvest is such an exceptional utility spell. Being able to snatch mana or life is a huge part of my solo build. Which doesn't say much, since I am getting ROFL-stomped in the cathedral on Act I. Haven't even made it past the first blue mob I encountered. >_<

I haven't bothered with the Auction House. The prices there are a joke.
This is very much the truth. I wish I could undertsand people's though process when they post a level 21 rare for 350,000 gold.

I realized my comment could be taken both ways, haha.

I stand by it on both accounts, though!

- It's ridiculous that this launch has been handled so poorly. I've lost a LOT of experience due to simple server hiccups, I've died because of unexplainable lag spikes, progress has mysteriously vanished because I logged out at the wrong spot, and I've been booted from the game for no apparent reason.

I haven't run into this yet, but not being able to play when I want to would definitely piss me off. I've been able to log in whenever (thanks to being busy with work and real life shit, too). I can see the frustration, though.

- Complaining about it is fine, we're all allowed to have our moments, but the argument of "Oh boy, server maintenance for my single player game! FFFFFMEEEEE" is wearing on me. EVERYONE who bought the game knew going into it that it was online only. Single player or not, you were fully aware that you need to be logged into b.net to play. Simple.

Furthermore, you cannot possibly think that there would be no launch hiccups. I agree that it's worse than it should have been, but launch hiccups are to be expected with a big release. Cataclysm was no different, and I imagine a few people probably remember when Ulduar launched and how the entire instance just shut down no more than an hour after launching. It's just the nature of HUGE server loads.

That being said, I don't think anyone cares that we all have our moments of, "Fuck you Blizzard fix my game." BUT! The single player complaints are ridiculous given how much information was available leading up to the launch.
Is this a joke post? Maybe you haven't experienced 1200+MS lag spikes over and over again, maybe you've not been disconnected and lost all of your progress, and maybe you simply haven't experienced the frustrations of simply being unable to play a game you paid $60 for whenever you wanted, but I have. And it's wearing on me.

You know, when I decided I was going to buy the game I honestly didn't stop and think "boy, I should be mentally prepared for Blizzard being completely incapable of handling the online component of the game." Simply for the fact that Blizz had the open beta and touted "over 2 million people played!" The only reason why we're experiencing the issues now is, simply put, ineptitude. You don't run a 10 million+ MMO for years and not learn something.

So, at the end of the day, I find everyone has a perfectly acceptable right to complain about Blizzard's handling of Diablo 3's launch week.

Basically. I went from S/S Monk for the survivability with Guiding Light + Infused with Light so I could afford things to DW once my base survivability was up so I can generate even more Spirit for spamming skills. Now that my Crit is getting up there, I can 2H Staff for the better Weapon Damage and rely on Sweeping Wind and an Ally for damage, still generate way too much Spirit to spam Mantras, and still have around the same base mitigation.

This is very much the truth. I wish I could undertsand people's though process when they post a level 21 rare for 350,000 gold.

The amount of "Holy shit, look at this!" stuff I've found on the AH for <100k Gold (hell, 90% of the time, <50k Gold) is ridiculous. The largest purchase I've made is I think two 350 DPS Bows for my DH and that was still only like 120k total. And I'm cheating by counting two of them as one purchase.

If you have fury problems you can always use mighty weapons with the weapons master. I think you generate 3 per hit then use one of the fury runes to get ~9+ fury per hit. Critical hit is nice if you use any crithit runes. Life leech/life on hit is a little more important imo but if you're going mace/axe getting crit hit damage and adding an emerald gem is a nice boost in dps (you get 10% increased crits with mace/axe + weapons master)

Revenge doesn't have a cooldown afaik. It's just a chance based skill. It has 15% chance of activating when you get hit. I've gotten it like 3-4 times in a row really fast before and sometimes not at all.

Here were my stats at 37 and I was doing fine:

I'm kind of not sure why you're having issues since your stats (at least the ones you posted) are way better than mine were. It might come down to the skills/passives you've chosen.

One thing I didnt mention was my DPS is only around 620. Yours is over 1000 with far less strength. Then again, you are a level 37 while I am a 34. My passive skills are armor/fury based and I duel wield swords while you have one very strong axe and a good shield.

Also, I guess I failed to mention I was playing 4 player nightmare act 4. I guess I am probably asking too much to do very well at that level. Basically just wondering how important +fury and what gem to use in weapons.

Sounds like Force Armor may be working as it did previously. Not sure why it was not working earlier but people are reporting it is behaving as it did prior to maintenance again.

I'm a level 18 barb and I never use my fury. Am I playing it wrong ?

I just spam frenesy (stack 5 time a bash attack that sky rockt my speed attack), jump and the large dash that kills everything in front of me in a row. I just use Vengeance to heal myself in the melee (and sometimes I use the scream that weaken enemy dmg) but I have no offensive skill that consume fury

No, it's not a joke post. I've put in 40+ hours on my DH since launch and have had my fair share of issues (1000+ ms latency once which got me killed). If you read my post in its entirety, you'd realize that I have the same sentiments as many others regarding the launch issues.

My complaint is that people are bitching that their single player game is having problems, when we all knew pre-day 1 that this was an online only experience. To complain about that simply shows how naive one is to the facts.

I am not defending Blizzard with regards to their server issues. Quite frankly, I refuse to play HC right now. With the level of difficulty some of the elites pack (mortar/molten/shielded/invul minions...Yeah, no), a SINGLE server flub would make me rage. I am simply bothered by the fact that people keep complaining about something we KNEW would be present long before release.

I spam Seismic Slam on larger groups (as much as I can since it's rather costly) and Hammer of the Ancients with the rune that reduces area and increases damage on boss fights.

I think my build is similar to yours.

I have way more armor & strength than he does, but my DPS is half. I even have a square ruby for DPS buff on my hammer. I figure he must have a way better axe than me & some +DMG or IAS rings/amulets.

Had my first purchase in the AH last night and also ended up with my first glitch since playing D3.

Went to do a buyout of a 900g item, kept timing out, finally said this item is no longer available. Went and found some other item I wanted for 400g, that one completed with no problem on the first buyout click. When I went to my completed transactions tab, it listed that I had bought both items but only one was there and it deducted the cost of both too! So that was 900g down the drain. I am wondering if I should even bother submitting it to Blizzard. I think I will just out of principle.

I've had auctions error out on me (I think from people buying at the same time you are.

It does take the money sometimes but then just puts the money back into my Completed tab and says it's reimbursement for a failed auction.

I did this until about level 30 or so. After that I had a real hard time finding decent mighty weapons on the AH. All the decent one handers for level 40+ seem to be swords, maces or spears. I don't think I've had a rare mighty weapon drop in a long time. However, that can be due to my crappy magic find of 8%.

The only thing missing from your rants is some use of the word entitled.

But really, I can understand people complaining about not being able to play a game they paid money for. These "how dare these simpletons complain" rants are far more grating.

I'll have to check up on that today, but by the time I stopped playing last night it counted as a completed transaction but without the actual loot given to me. 900g even at my early game noob levels isn't that big of a deal, but I can imagine some raging when someone drops 300K with nothing to show.

I really like the auction house. Maybe I am fascinated with the idea of this self contained economy but it is certainly convenient for gems! Also, I don't always have a ton of time to play so starting a session by purchasing some fun new gear makes it that much more enjoyable.

Agreed, it really ticks me off that each day when I'm playing D3 and decide to open the General chat room I eventually see the same comment of, "LOL online single player game, servers suck!"

Yeah I am frustrated too when my latency spikes at 1000+ and as a Wizard I have to actually cast my spells before a fight begins to actually hit something, but seriously, it hasn't been a week yet and I'm still playing the game and enjoying it and guess what, you are still playing too.

So if it really bothers you then leave or better yet take a break and come back a week or two later (this seems most wise), in the meantime quit parroting the same damn thing.

I just get the impression that people don't understand the nature of an online game. I'm not trying to be "that guy", so sorry if it seems that way. ;)

They need to fix the AH before they even consider bringing the RMAH online. My main complaint, and I have been using this to make money for myself.

You can buy an item, send to stash and immediately resell the item again. This must be stopped. Basically, you search for specific gear you know will sell, set a low buyout like 5000 gold and just refresh and refresh and refresh. You see an item pop, you try and buy it immediately. You can then go and sell it for 10 to 20 times what you paid for it. Been doing this for days and making unlimited money because people are selling things because they do not know what to put for a value.

They need to put like a 2day cool down or something on items before they can be re-listed after they have been purchased from the AH to prevent people from controlling the AH like it is now.

Like I said, I am using this myself because it exists but it needs to be addressed before the RMAH comes online.

Also, they need to add a function so I can cancel my auctions that are not selling...so frustrating.

My main concern with itemization right now is that when the RMAH is introduced, they likely can't do any big item changes as it would drastically impact the economy.

Buy low, sell high. Even if you put a 2 day cooldown on items hitting the AH, they'll just wait 2 days to put them up. It's just how the AH works. It's like that in WoW, too.

This is just basic buying low/selling high, though. It's just inflated due to the fact people just put things up for sale at whatever price. But, you're welcome for all the sub-10k items that are probably worth 100k+ :x

Also, they need to add a function so I can cancel my auctions that are not selling...so frustrating.

While it'd be nice, I imagine it's there to try and force prices to be reasonable so you don't tie up a slot. In theory, anyway.

But in WoW you can see what the item you want to auction is selling for. In Diablo it's more difficult to pick an auction price that's a) not too high that you have to wait 2 days to get the item back and b) isn't too low that it will instantly exploited by the above poster.

So here I am farming Act 1 of Inferno. Didn't Blizz say I needed to farm before I get to Act 2? Cause the items I'm getting (5 stack Neph Valor) are still shit.

....random!

That's basically why I'm going GF% until I'm farming for the sake of just playing the game.

While it would be nice, I think this is the right way to go. It will keep the economy in balance in the long run.

You can check what similar items are selling for. It's not ideal but it can be effective.

You become accustomed to what sells and what doesn't, eventually. Items that seem to sell well in my experience are things that have +primary stat and +vitality together, magic find/gold find items, and +dmg and attack speed% items.

Items you probably don't want to sell, or at least not for much, are things that have two primary stats together like +int and +str unless there are other useful affixes on it.

So everyone here is talking about resistance items and weapons and all of that, so when do you start getting them, I just started act 3 on normal on my lvl27 barb.

Level 52 on hell act 1. Still no legendary or set pieces. I am pretty much exclusively wearing crafted gear. I am hoping I am an anomaly because not finding any loot in the first 30 hours of play is kinda discouraging if someone hadn't played D2.

Also what is this I hear about maintenance today? Wtf launch week is one thing but why is a full day being taken off for this game. I am okay with always online but wtf is this.

Decidided to give Inferno a go. Man I'm glad I didn't roll Barbarian first. My real life Fury globe would be filled up all the time. Teleport/Fire chains/Arcane/Molten. Not something I want to be in the middle of.

Also like that Valor buff. SK gave me half a dozen blues and 2 yellows. That's what I expect from a boss fight.
