Hotfix for the coldbroke?

Edit: Yup, 1.5.8.2 is out.

HOTFIX : 21 MAY 2012
Affected addons:
* dayz_code 1.5.8.2

Changelog:
* [FIXED] Loosing temperature way too fast
* [FIXED] Not enough wood available for spawn
* [FIXED] Matches way too rare
* [FIXED] Reduced impact of infection (coughing amount and blood loss, will only loose 2000 blood)

Eagerly awaiting update 1.6.3.6.1.127, rumoured to have a system in place that confirms the presence/lack of player balls, and subsequently adds/removes 200000 blood.

It's not a cold, it's man flu. The deadliest illness known to man.

There's likely someone out there who's missed work to play this saying they have man flu, and then their character's died due to man flu.

This mod is awesome.

Yikes, 10-14 fps on ARMA II Free's second benchmark on some of the lowest settings... I guess I'll pass on this series for now.

Too bad, the single normal mission it has included to play seemed to run acceptably. Too many keys and functions though.

Does the second benchmark have planes doing bombing runs? If so, I wouldn't worry about performance issues too much. My computer chugged on that one, too, and I'm doing well enough. I can't say I've ever died due to low framerate. Hell, even online coop missions run well, and those have airstrikes, tanks, planes, helicopters... the works.

The second benchmark is more of a stress test. Regular missions or the first benchmark are better indicators of performance. I put 204 enemies in the largest city in the game and I still had a higher framerate than in the second benchmark.

go prone and wait for them to loose aggro or find another player
Zombies lose aggro? As far as I knew when I played, unless there's a smoke bomb, a corpse, or another player, they will NEVER EVER lose aggro no matter how far away you are and how long it's been until you leave the server.

Rarely do they lose aggro, but they do. Of course the question becomes if it's a bug or actual AI.

I don't think they should ever lose it. I want Dawn of Dead - they just keep attracting more.

That's why I hate zombies being able to climb ladders. It kills the feeling of escaping but trapping yourself. Shit design that.

Exactly, there's no need for them to open a door or climb a ladder. Being stuck is even better than dying.

Though it is very amazing to see zombies fly off towers and ladders because of getting shot by a player they try to eat.

I have a Q6600 and a 9600GT, can I run this?

Probably

Minimum:
OS: Windows XP or Windows Vista
Processor: Intel Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz
Memory: 1GB
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce 8600GT or ATI Radeon 3650 or faster with Shader Model 3 and 512 MB VRAM
DirectX®: DirectX 9.0c
Hard Drive: 10 GB free space

The CPU is fine, but that GPU is barely above the minimum requirements. Try the demo of ARMA2 first.

EDIT: I looked up the 9600GT, and apparently it is quite a bit better than a 8600GT, so you should be fine. You should still try the demo first just to make sure.

Thank you guys, I'll give it a shot. If I run the regular Arma II I'll definitely run this mod then? No graphical enhancements and stuff like that?

I'm planning on getting a better PC, but I'll have to save money for some time, and I really wanna play this

Can someone that has played on the hotfix tell me what the bolded portion means. Will I only drop from 12000 to 10000 now if I get man flu?

Why does this thread seem to be so devoid of images and videos?
Because posting nearly solid black screens isn't very exciting, and even in the daytime it might tend to be an ugly game I think. :P

In the last 100 posts or so there should be at least one story with several pictures, however.

Just to be clear, it's a unique game with interesting gameplay, but perhaps not one that lends itself to tons of screenshots.

Got into a firefight with another survivor after being sniped by a third, I managed to kill him.
And then I instantly turned into a Bandit.

So what's up with that? I've never been a bandit before, but now that I killed another survivor right after spawning I turned into one. And the humanity is gone so I can't see that number either. Anyone knows why?

This. The game lends itself to words and peoples rendition of events. Screenshots are great for graphics and quick events.

I still have to write up my first time playing. It was quite the event.

Was just on a rooftop in Cherno at nighttime. Some guy was creeping down below - never would have seen him if the names weren't on. I felt like being a bit of a dick so I chucked a flare right down by him, then as he ran away I kept throwing them on the road further and further that he was running down. Man you can chuck those things MILES.

I like to think I gave him a heart attack.

Nothing to exciting but i was in the wilderness running around for hours exploring little villages and woodland.

Huh, I've been gaining a few random followers on my min.us account, with only DayZ stuff kept there.

Think there's lots of random followers, bit like Twitter. I also gained a few when adding Max Payne 3 GIFs, except all the followers had nothing game related in their profile and all seemed a bit too 'professional'.

This thread is the one that gets to stay from what I understand. But since the OP isn't around much, it's a pain in the ass to get it updated. I know we can PM mods, but still.

I'll send a PM to the mod who originally updated the OP and see what they say.

I'm gonna start puttin up more videos at least weekly if possible. The problem is not every day in DayZ is super exciting. It may not always be as awesome to watch as it is to play. It's the connections with the group that you grow attached to. For example, I know Broken will almost always have the supplies we need, BS is super dependable, Mickey is the resident, "fuck em', let's kill em' " person of the team and usually we get into interesting situations as a result. I'm just the cameraman really. It's the little things in this that make the difference. I think I'm gonna jump on tonight if at all possible, though my boss(wife) is making me take her out to dinner so maybe after that.

I guess I'm just bad at the game, but I still feel like there's not enough ammo. Takes 3 shots with the Makarov to kill a zombie (headshots are impossible for me when you're not in a building) and when I fire it just attracts more from seemingly miles away.

That's because the Makarov sucks, it's underpowered and it's only supposed to be used as a last resort, at the beginning of the game.

Head into supermarkets, barns, buildings and find other weapons.
