What the FUCK is with these dumbass revive times. It's not enough that I just died now you're making me sit there like an idiot for 25 seconds. WTF.
I dont understand this either.
Sometimes it takes awhile to take down a group of elites/rares but the revive times are so ridiculous I just leave the game.

Anybody who thinks the Auction House is a bad thing for the game should watch Kungen's live stream of him doing Inferno on hardcore.

http://www.twitch.tv/kungentv

It's offline right now, but I had it on in the background for about 7 hours today. The entirety of that 7 hours was him farming the Wretched Mother boss and the thing in Adria's Hut in Act I, continuously, over and over, for the entire time, because his weapon wasn't strong enough to allow him to progress and the AH had no items on it since almost nobody is in Hardcore Inferno. At one point he spent about an hour and a half going back to Hell to get the Nephalem Valor buff and kill
Azmodan
, but yea. Fuck that.

The AH is an amazing and necessary addition to the franchise, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Anyone have details on the mechanics behind pierce? Seeing my devouring arrow doing 20k numbers occasionally makes me wonder if you can push that further.

It gains DPS as it passes through enemies I believe. So if it pierces one, it gains a %, then another, and another etc. You'll see big numbers with it, but the pierce chance is lower without the +pierce rune, so I'm not sure how it fares against the other ones.

34% MF?

I'll be happy to take that cumbersome thing off your hands.

I'm realizing how huge that number is as I look at the rest of my gear. 14%, 15%, etc. Double that, on a weapon that doesn't suck, in a set that doesn't take many items to complete? This makes up for over a week of junk loot.

Are you just repeating the boss fight over and over? On Hell difficulty, I assume?

Players: A B C and D
A B C and D kill Azmodan, B,C,D Leave before soul and each click resume game
A picks up soul in his current game, and turns in tower quest = 2 quest completions,

A then join Bs game again, A finishes tower quest there, = 1 more quest completion
A and B join Cs game, C finishes Soul, B and C leave Cs game and resume new games, A then finishes tower quest = 2 more quest completions
A joins Bs game, finishes tower quest = 1 more quest completion
A and B join Cs game, finish tower quest = 1 more quest completion

A joins Bs game, finishes Bs tower quest = 1 more quest completion
A and B join Cs game, finish tower quest = 1 more quest completion
A B and C join Ds game, Finish twoer quest = 1 more quest completion
A gets 14 completions
B gets 9 Completions
C gets 5 completions
D gets 2 completions

Whatever the myriad of issues one might point to that legitimately undermine this game... on many levels it is simply fantastic. I love it. Games like this are so rarely crafted. /fanboi

Yeah, but I wonder if pierce is a static % chance without being affected by anything else? Also pierce doesn't do damage ignoring armor does it? Pierce here simply means passing through the enemy, right?

When will the auction house be back? I'd like to upgrade my gear as the FPS Stuttering has eased up a bit and i'm able to play Nightmare.

Eh, it's not too random. I just beat him solo on my Monk. Took me two tries because I borked up my skills to heal. It's definitely harder now that I don't have as consistent a heal like I did with Boon but eh, was more than manageable.

I used this build against him.

It works surprisingly well against some Blue/yellow elites as well though Vortex is annoying and if an Arcane Sentry is put in a bad place, it can be annoying. When you put down a Sanctuary, you gotta make sure to hold shift to stay in place and use the deadly reach to hit otherwise there's not as much point in having it unless you drop it in a doorway.

Just tried this in hell with 16,800 dmg buffed from the heal and 37,000 life with the ally.

Things died so fast it was insane. No need to survive when blue packs last 20 seconds.

Thanks for the advice. I miss Mantra of Healing though. It was like a warm security blanket.

The AH is a sloppy and unnecessary solution to poor itemization implementation, particularly for gear reliant classes like Barbarians. There is simply no good way to farm for gear in the game. Drops in areas you are able to complete are useless for preparing you for the next level, so the emphasis falls on to gold. Unfortunately, there is no work around for hardcore mode. In all likelihood, the drop design is based around gold collection and auction house use for Blizzard to make money off of the RMAH.

Who knows. It has been up and down all day so it will probably be up in an hour or two at the most. It is frustrating trying to sell something on the AH today.

I'm pretty surprised by the low population on the public games as well. Then again, I'm part of the problem, as I only do multi player with real life friends, and otherwise play solo. Don't much care for pugging.

In a lot of instances the system is broken, and you only wind up in parties of two with the other person leaving right away looking for a four man group. I wouldn't be surprised if people simply gave up on public games.

Can the DH be a traditional bow user in D3?

If not that makes two games where the ranged char has no viable bow options :(

I've seen a lot of bow DH. Late game, you will probably end up with a bow since a passive gives you a straight 15% damage bonus.

so I'm curious about something- I'm still putzing my way through normal making a point to explore every nook and cranny of every map I come across , including re-exploring areas that get wiped clean whenever I log out and I'm pretty much level 30 going up to the end of act 3 and I've thrown 23 hours into the game so far.

Going by this thread I'm wondering were people rushing through this game to finish it in 15 hours or am I just really slow ? I can see why the rush I suppose- you open up harder difficulties faster and get better loot so you don't' see the point of taking your time in normal. But still it seems like it couldn't be as much fun... or is it ?

I am focusing on Vitality right now. With 15k HP I am still getting crushed in some circumstances.

my monk could solo mobs in a full group on nightmare. I primarily increased her dexterity (though my vit is catching up now, act 3 hell currently)

I think your damage should probably be around 1500 or above (though my monk was and still is dual wielding)

I find that Crippling Wave (+Mangle) is all you need for damage (143% aoe weapon damage with every hit). Breath of Heaven (I use the Circle of Light Rune) and Serenity (Peaceful Repose Rune for me) are pretty much a must, but I see you have those. I decided to go with a dodge built (Mantra of Evasion/The Guardian's Path) but the other mantras (Healing/Conviction + Intimidation) might help with damage mitigation as well. You don't seem to use Seize the Initiative - it'll greatly help you boost your survivability. I also use Mystic Ally (he makes a pretty great tank) but I don't think that skill is mandatory.

well, at least that's what worked for me

I just stopped playing now. Reduced smoke screen time due to the nerf is making me die a wee bit more but enough to make me wonder wtf is up with these prolonged times today. So I just quit.

Wow, a group can get to 60 in no time.

I'm convinced that people haven't found the true legendary items yet. It's only been a week and a bit.

Yeeeeeah, about that. They've all been found, and you can find all of them on the AH, being outclassed entirely by tons of blue and rare items.

Go check blizzards own diablo 3 item database if you don't believe me.

Legendaries and Set items in diablo 3 really just are crap atm, unfortunately.

Game is laggy as hell for me today. With lag some deaths are unavoidable.

Was fighting a jailer elite and got caught during a vault then got 1 shot by a swarm of locusts. I didn't see more than one hit on my screen. Pretty sure I can take a few of those too.

I'll never know what this game controls like at a decent latency. There should be a difficulty modifier added called Australia mode for the true masochists out there.

Not sure why we should be able to use bows just fine? Dualwielding the 1 handed crossbows on the other hand really isn't a good option atm, due to how shitty the dualwielding system is atm.

If I join someones act II inferno game, do I get the waypoints/checkpoints/etc in my own game, or am I still stuck in Act 1? I'm ready to be out of Act 1 at this point, just in terms of having been here way too long, but I can't kill the boss :P

I now have eight mules full of loot.

So it's confirmed that legendaries/set items don't have higher caps on their random properties?

And has anyone even shared the stats on full, high level set gear yet?

So true... :(

Even worse for people like me on a 3G connection, I imagine.

I'm still on Act 1 of Normal mode because of lag. It's the ultimate difficulty modifier.

I went at a pretty leisurely pace to finish at 17 hours on normal while doing a fair bit of exploring. I didn't go out of my way to try and find every side quest / event, but took part in the ones I stumbled across. Overall it was an enjoyable romp, and I didn't really worry about missing it because I'll likely stumble across other stuff on replays at higher difficulties. On replays, though, I plow through the main quest line. Seen it once, and am not compelled to see it again, so just steamroll through those conversations.

People that rush through diablo 3 do it in way less than 15 hours. It took me and a friend just around 15 hours to complete the game, and we explored the vast majority of the game in our playthrough, definitely not what I consider rushing.

But the thing is, different people play at different speeds. While me and my friends definitely weren't rushing through the game, we weren't going slowly at it either. We didn't stop all the time to take long looks at various items we had collected, to ponder if there were any tiny upgrades, or make pit stops to the city if we didn't need to. And since we did it in one long gaming session, we didn't have to rediscover certain zones more than once.

Hurry up and get to NM though, the game get's even better there imo.

Yeah I was super excited when I found one.
Sold it for 280k. lol shields.

Lol inferno

It looks awesome for sure. I'm jelly. The only legendary I've found is MC Hammer's Pants.

Better do it quick; There's no way it won't be nerfed.

Lol yeah, may as well take advantage of it while it's up and if only I could find out the other chest exploits, im too weak damnit!
