Just bought Autumn Dynasty. DLing now.

Apparently EA believes they're indie too, as they have a shitload of titles on sale as well.
Kinda fucked.

If it saves me money, they may as well.

I will assist you. Buy these:

Osmos
World of Goo
Eliss
Sword and Sworcery
Waking Mars

Thanks, friend. I can't wait to buy all of these and stare at their icons blankly each night.

Thanks, dream.

Burnout Crash is disappointing so far. I didn't know what to expect, but I was hoping for something that resembled Burnout.

Please let us know how Autumn Dinasty is, I'm curious. I'll be the guinea pig for Virtua Tennis. I love on the west coast though, not out yet. (When does it come out on the Canadian store, midnight? Not sure?)

EDIT: Rebuild is on sale for .99 from 2.99, it's got some praise before, what's GAF's verdict?

I played through the first two missions. It works quite well on the iPad 1. Everything is very smooth and responsive. Looks great. I can't see one of those brushes or even a stylus being practical; you use that second finger way too much.

Some sales: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (don't you dare point out I spelled it wrong) is on sale for 1.99 insteead of 2.99, seems to be awesome for iOS?)

Waking Mars for 1.99 instead of 4.99 (got a lot of praise here)

Rebuild for .99 instead of 2.99 (lots of general praise, any GAF input?)

Hey guys - made more fixes. Head to anniversary.fruitninja.com and try redeeming some codes. Let friends know as the more we have downloading, the sooner we'll have the issues sorted. Thanks!

What is it about/like? Seems like a sim/BattleNations style game? Or is it something totally different?

It's kind of like a turn-based reverse city builder. You start with a HQ in a zombie-ravaged post-apocalyptic city and recruit survivors so you can research shit and expand your territory one city block at a time.

that sounds.... AWESOME.

Worked for me. Even automatically entered the code in for me since I visited the site on an iPad.

So everyone here should try out Forget-Me-Not. It's a buck or something, but it's a pretty awesome spin on Pac-man. And try tapping the background on the main menu - seizure mode!

I ended up downloading about 10 of those Because We May games, so I'll let you guys know how they are once I dive into them.

And when I say expand 1 block at a time, what I mean is you send out your best fighters (the survivors you recruit all of stats so some of them are great at combat, others are scientists, and some of them are super charismatic leaders) to kill all the zombies, then scavenge for supplies, then recruit survivors, then capture the block (which can be anything from malls to police stations, to schools, to research labs, to hospitals, to farms, to houses -- all of which are important for the reasons you'd expect) and fortify them. So, naturally, you'll want a balance of farms (to supply your survivors with food), housing, and defenses (like towers that will let you see zombie attacks coming a few turns earlier).

It's a good game.

You'd already convinced me with your previous post and by the time I read this one I had already bought and downloaded it. Thanks. :D Now nervously waiting for Virtua Tennis to hit.

that sounds.... AWESOME.

I was severely addicted to Rebuild for awhile. It's definitely a great variation on city sims, though, unfortunately there's not much variation in strategy. It's a game that'll last you a few days and you'll pretty much exhausted all it's potential, but it's a damn intense few days. Still worth the 99 cents.

I just bought Burnout Crash and I'm ashamed to admit that, after 5 minutes, I have absolutely no idea how to play this. The controls and mechanics just don't make any sense to me.

I flicked my finger around on the first level and got 30 million points. I also have no idea what I'm doing.

Has anyone played The Sandbox? It's free, and it's a great game. Although you have to know what you're doing, otherwise you have to pay real money for in-game currency..

I just picked up Mass Effect Infiltrator and I'm pleasantly surprised by the polish and how good it looks even on my iPad 2. The aim to shoot update seemed to be a good decision as well. I can't wait to go on another Mass Effect adventure and man all these sales are going clog up my backlog even more.

Any good opinions on Tiger Woods, is there multiplayer?

I'm a sucker for Virtua Tennis so I grabbed it for my 3rd Gen iPad. It looks ok, has a fully featured tournament mode, runs in retina res but my god the player animation framerate is so janky. I thought it was the new iPad but there are reports from users with iPad 2's on touch arcade reporting similar problems.

Thanks! Everyone else keep at it, the more codes we test the better.

Do the codes only work for iOS or android too?

EDIT: also holy goddamn, too many sales, I AM DROWNING IN WHAT TO BUY. So far have bought only Rebuild, later will by Virtua Tennis (k, not a sale), also have my eyes on MANY others.

What's the word on Autumn Dynasty?

Looks pretty good so far. There's both bluetooth and gamecenter for mp. Voice chat is supported. I haven't went looking for a match yet. I've been getting a few things finished up otherwise. It seems well put together, though I do wonder about the number of maps. There are only a total of ten available to unlock on skirmish. You beat them in the game to unlock them.

Virtua Tennis is out! Bought and downloading now, will follow with iPhone 4S impressions soon.

Also, SALES AND UPDATES AND NEW RELEASES. OPRAHGAMESFOREVERYONE.GIF

EDIT: REALLY shouldn't have clicked to update IB2 before purchasing Virtua Tennis... this download might take a while.

I imagine codes for Android would have to be a different format. And yes, I would like to know if there is any way to get it free for Android instead (or to get the HD version, since I have an iPad).

Yeah, I played through it. Unfortunately, there's no way to unlock everything without paying, so spend your points carefully. I even earned all the achievements and don't have enough for all of the elements. It's bs.

So, how are the new games people? Tons of releases tonight.

I'm waiting for IB2 to finish uploading before the Virtua Tennis download starts, I'll post impressions. -flips table- i wish there was a way to cancel an update without deleting the app -.-

I don't know how long this has been going on, but Jetpack Joyride is free right now. And it's awesome, so definitely grab that if you don't already have it.

Okay good lord Virtua Tennis is good. It had some performance issues in my first try, but that seemed to correlate with the HEAVY overusage of vibrations, I'll turn them off and report again.

There are FOUR control schemes, once with swiping (which is kind of weird, since both swipes ar used for walking and shooting), virtual pad with buttons, arcade (anyone remember the good old virtua tennis arcades?) and gamepad (which is essentually the same as virtual pad, just slightly differently arranged buttons)

Just played a short exhibition and got my ass handed to me, will report in soon with a different control layout, vibrations turned off and campaign mode. Gnna try virtual pad now, should work better than swipe I think.

That "Because We May" deal.... Jesus christ. Even without the sales it acts as a great purchasing guide. So many good looking titles that I've never heard of before.

iOS gaming is NOT doomed. But my wallet certainly is.

$65 total

Okay, some further comments on Virtua Tennis:

There doesn't seem to be any character progression in the story mode, only increasing enemy strength, so... not sure how the longevity is... Sad, because the gameplay is REALLY good, the games are very fluid and the controls (with virtual pad) work pretty well I think. Sadly, I'm having some framerate issues on my iPhone 4S, nothing bad, but sometimes it seems to drop to below 30fps which is kinda sad, especially since it's... well, a 4S. There are no minigames I've encountered (yet :( ), only some sort of "shoot balloons" training mode with a score, which also seems to be the only kind of multiplayer there is - shoot more balloons = get a better score.

TL:DR Good gameplay, not-so-good surrounding game that will probably not have THAT much of a lasting effect. maybe a few games once in a while, but since it's fairly repetitive (a tennis game, after all) and no character progression/fun minigames, not really AS big as I hoped it'd be. I'll keep playing the campaign though, it's fun enough for now, but I really hope SOMETHING comes up. Like at least an equipment store where you can improve your skills or anything, really.

Is there online multiplayer at least?

There is online wi-fi, let me see how smooth that goes right now, actually.

Oh and the game LOOKS pretty good, I have to admit. The courts and surroundings vary, so do the surfaces. Again, seems like the game itself is pretty good, just the story mode has underwhelmed me a bit (so far). It's all "choose which tournament to pick" and then play it and win. Sponsors get picked for you automatically and give you money, all you do is pick tournaments and then play them and raise your ranking... again, SO FAR.

EDIT: THere is only RANDOM online multiplayer it seems :( not cool... and you can't adjust the game-settings there either, only pick from 3 presets, then it starts searching. no lobby. And noone's online to play atm so I can't judge the performance.

--> Great Gameplay/Presentation, shitty surrounding stuff. So probably good for a few games once in a while, but not for "can't put this down have to progress" style gaming.

EDIT2: there is also bluetooth multiplayer, not that anyone cares.

EDIT2: there is also bluetooth multiplayer, not that anyone cares.
Do people really have that mentality? I use Bluetooth multiplayer more than online. Then again, I'm a local multiplayer kind of guy, I guess. But it really bums me out when a game supports online multi, but not local.

WARNING. Virtua Tennis online WIFI multiplayer is the biggest lagfest in the history of lagfests. And then right as I was about to win it disconnected. Yeah no. Good gameplay, good looks, but the surrounding game is just... mediocre, and multiplayer is NOT working.
