Magic find only increases the chances of finding magic loot, does not actually improve the quality/specs of the loot.

Focus on increasing your dps, 375 is loo low for nightmare.

Finally cracked 1k DPS on my DH, Act I Nightmare. 3.5k HP, are those stats reasonable? Lvl... 35 I believe.

Seems a little low on the HP side. I just completed Act I Nightmare (granted I am playing HC) and I have 764 damage and 7.2k HP. I still 2 shot all the mobs and can't really die to a mistake.

Minor bug, but I somehow have two Kulle's:

I'll hit the auction house when it's back up.

40 dps seems rather low for NM, although I honestly don't remember what the weapon damage range was around that level

some build from a wizard buddy I've finished act 1 hell with a couple of days ago (my wizard was terrible in general and compared to his, so I put her on ice (running away from every single enemy is just not that fun))

signature spell of you choice
Disintegrate
Frost Nova
Meteor + Meteor Shower (much better than my Star Pact rune)
Mirror Image + Duplicates (seemed to work really well)
Magic Weapon

personally, I'd replace the signature spell with disintegrate as your primary attack spell (there aren't any other mana drains anyway) and put in Diamond Skin (it's just too important)

but I really hate my wizard atm

What are the most important stats to have for a Monk? Looking at everyone else's stats I feel way under powered. I'm mostly dexterity focused and I dual wield maces. DPS is around 800 and HP is around 3k at level 36 I believe.

So my friend just got the game and i am power leveling him through normal and i am wondering what is the minimum level requirement to enter nightmare? he wants me to power level him to my witch doctors level which is currently 30 and NM mode will help progress this faster.

Is it 20? 25?

Are your AI companion higher levels in NM, Hell and Inferno? If yes, like D2, power your friend to the higher difficulty, get them the higher lvl companions and have their companions power level them in the weaker areas / difficulties.

Inferno is ridiculous even in solo, I can't get past Festering Woods, and I can't seem to find decent gear and AH is down so I can't buy my way to victory, even with an 800 DPS weapon and over 25k HP.

I can spec for 47k HP, doesn't matter in inferno. You have to get your resists up. Basically you want +resist all on every piece of gear you're wearing. Unfortunately the mechanics of doing that require an auction house that actually works since you're not going to find that gear in the areas you can farm at a reasonable rate.

The intent was to use your Blacksmith to fill those itemization gaps that can happen due to the randomized drops. The issue is the Blacksmith compared to the AH is just not worth spending gold to level up right now. It's something we're aware of.
Whoop-de-fucking-doo.

My wizard is slowly working his way through Hell this week. It's not so bad except when you run into one of those elite packs. I thought Blizzard said that they wanted to avoid "unfair" challenges, but I just got a nightmarish+mortar pack right inside the Caldeum sewer entrance (the spot where you can't zone back out) and died a dozen deaths before I finally escaped somehow. I guess corpse camping is just another way D3 captures that MMO experience. I need to have a lie down.

This night lag is pissing me the fuck off. This is nearly unplayable for me now. This morning it was fine, but now? Holy hell. It's like I run into a big pack, lag, dead....

I would rather just power level him myself, he gets a level after 5-6 act 2 stone runs which takes literally 1 minute a run.

I am just trying to get him to 35 and in nightmare so he can play with my which doctor but if i can get him in nightmare ASAP i can get him levels even faster so i was asking what is the minimum requirements to get into nightmare, like how you have to be level 50 to play in hell mode i wanna know what level you have to be to get into nightmare, i tried to beat diablo for him at level 15 and it wouldn't let him in nightmare.

Minimum is 30 iirc

Edit: Actually, I think you just need to beat normal
We tried that when he was level 15 and when i created normal it said he couldn't.

I took him to beat diablo at level 15. I am thinking it's between 20-30.

dexterity (+ Seize the Initiative) for damage, dodge and armor, vitality for not getting one-hit (damage reduction is way more important as a monk than raw hp though, otherwise your heals will be useless)

my Monk, btw (Way of the Hundred Fists was for the act 2 boss)

damn you all, I'm going to make dual wielding work in inferno

e: oh, and the AH is back, as I just noticed on this screenshot

Still rocking it. I'm able to kite some champs now, but SS being nerfed has hindered that pursuit. I did manage to get to +5 NV though, and this dropped:

What say you, Witch Doctor GAF. Good? AH is down, so I can't check the going rate. It's my first set item.

Oh man...if only I was a tank and could just stand there and fight him =/ I still haven't taken him down on Inferno.

Holy shit I though there weren't Set Items... they have to be even rarer than Legendarys right?! and those stats, finally something really good (I guess)

Is anyone else experiencing massive burnout on this like I am? Cleared Normal on Saturday, fiddled around with other classes to about level 10 each, and for now, I'm toast. I have to take a break on this one for a few days or something.

It's weird; I was mentally addicted to this like crazy all of last week. Haven't experienced such a sudden drop-off of love for something before. Except pizza, after a huge binge. =/

I am experiencing this. I got my barbarian to 60 and I decided I didn't like the direction I had to go in to become viable in inferno, so I started leveling a wizard. With even a tiny amount of money and sense it's pathetically easy to gear yourself up on the AH to the point of trivializing the game. This comes in addition to the fact that the class already has an easier time than the barbarian ever did. I've got the wizard to 40 now, and it just feels like I'm grinding through the motions.

Levels don't feel as randomized as they should for some reason, and post-act 1 I find that there are fewer and fewer of the dynamically placed quest events. I think the game could have used a lot more of those to really spice the leveling experience up when you play an alt.

The itemization just isn't grabbing me like it should either. Diablo 2 had so much more richness to its items, and it was infinitely more difficult to acquire the really good stuff. I can easily go buy an 800 DPS blue or yellow with the gold I have and basically be decked out on the weapon front. None of the uniques are interesting or good in the slightest, especially for the premium they command just by virtue of being rare.

The skills are interesting for the leveling process, but progression in inferno necessarily pigeonholes you into a few things (ESPECIALLY on the melee classes). Sure, Kripparrian just soloed inferno Diablo tonight on his barb, but there's no way it could be done without having the ridiculous level of gear he has combined with a really boring tank spec. That's kind of why I made the wizard, but I don't know, I just don't feel super compelled to go through everything again and again like I did in the D2 days.

AH is fun right now. It is like lightning round type shit. OOO OOO good item. *Click* 'No longer available' FUCKKK
I hate it when you see a really good item for ridiculously cheap and then BAM no longer available.

You know what's better than that? not being able to put up a fucking auction for going on 3 days.

Yep, AH goes down for hours to fix issues, comes back up, and is still completely unusable.

Well, on the plus side it seems to sort right now. If I attempt to sort by DPS it seems to work correctly, whereas before it wasn't taking into account something and wouldn't actually list them by DPS.

Nevermind, it's not quite working still. I guess just with fewer items there are less of whatever parameter fucks it up to confuse it. Probably socket slots with gems in them or something.

Edit - I think maybe the default sorting uses proper DPS listing, but if you try to manually sort by DPS it jumbles it.

One of my items sold. Took like a minute between when I clicked "send gold to stash" and when the gold actually arrived.

How is it still broken if they took it down to fix it?

I think my favorite part of the ah is seeing entire pages of items that have already been sold. Why am I being shown things I cannot buy? WHY?

Generally is it better to get a weapon with life stolen per hit or damage converted to life.

Is this even needed as a monk in NM?

not really

life steal gets worse on higher difficulty levels (I think it's only 20% of the original value on inferno), not sure if this is only true for percentage-based life steal though

I think my favorite part of the ah is seeing entire pages of items that have already been sold. Why am I being shown things I cannot buy? WHY?

I can't tell if people are just venting or are serious here. Items are just being bought so fast that a second after you search for then, the search is outdated. I can't think of an appropriate solution except to wait till a less busy time. :(

Edit: oh, when you search they're all instantly coming up as sold? Yeah, issue on thir end I guess. Misunderstood. Sorry

Probably because 90 trillion people are buying shit right now. I finally got to put 1 item up on the AH and it literally sold a minute later, guess 20th item was a charm because the first 19 items i tried to put up failed.

EDIT: LOL @ these idiots throwing up garbage for 50K, 100K etc. God i wish these people would just go back to WOW or whatever game they were playing before they bought this.

and they can't be bothered to filter that information client side? I didn't ask why am i getting data for things that have sold, I want to know why the game can't filter them out of my list.

Depends on how much damage you do, I think.
If your damage is only ~1.5k in nightmare, and you have ~3% leech, that's like 45 health healed per hit. Given that you probably have ~10k hp, that's ~.5% of your total health. If you have to fight hard hitting champions and rares, it's probably not worth it at this point.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Thought you meant items were being sold in the interim second or two between your search and your clicking to buyout the item, which couldn't be helped. I understand now, you mean items sold already at the instant you hit search. Yeah, that's their issue.
