As I said earlier until they deal with the hacks there will be no RMAH. It's not about lag, latency or balance. It's all about hackers.

" In all of the individual Diablo III-related compromise cases we’ve investigated, none have occurred after a physical Battle.net Authenticator or Battle.net Mobile Authenticator app was attached to the player’s account, and we have yet to find any situation where a Diablo III player's account was accessed outside of “traditional” compromise methods (i.e. someone logging using an account's login email and password)."

They can't patch stupidity.

The bitter tears of the fanbase will be the driving force of the expansions. Diablo will return thanks to the sheer amount of hate and contempt emitted by the B.net forums.

I'd be super interested in this story-line actually.

Expansion confirmed to take place in Blizz Offices with named Bosses like 'Bashiok'.

How do you patch in a stop to people being stupid on the internet?

Blues just put up a big update on the official forums. I knew the RMAH would be pushed back indefinitely.

Full post for the office workers:

We’d like to address some of the ongoing concerns from the Diablo® III community since the game went live last week, and go into more detail about how we plan to tackle some of the lingering post-launch issues so players can focus on what they want to be focused on -- playing Diablo III.

Hotfixes, Upcoming Patch, and Ongoing Issues

Since the game’s launch, we’ve applied a number of hotfixes to address gameplay issues, made tweaks to improve our service stability, and performed occasional server maintenance when necessary to ensure that in the long term, players have the best gameplay experience possible. Moving forward, additional server maintenances will be required -- and sometime next week, we plan to release a game update in the form of a patch that will further address client issues and apply additional bug fixes.

We also wanted to let you know that we’re still looking into the best way to address the achievements that some players lost in the hours following the game’s release. While we don’t have any concrete details to share with you just yet, we will have more information to share in the weeks ahead. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to improve stability and usability for all players.

Real-Money Auction House Coming Soon

In light of the post-launch obstacles we’ve encountered, we have made the decision to move the launch of the real-money auction house beyond the previously estimated May time frame. As we mentioned in our original announcement, our goal has always been to ensure everyone has the smoothest experience possible when the real-money auction house launches, and we need a bit more time to iron out the existing general stability and gameplay issues before that feature goes live. While we don’t have a new launch date to share just yet, we’ll have more information soon.

Battle.net®/Diablo III Security Concerns

Over the past couple of days, players have expressed concerns over the possibility of Battle.net® account compromises. First and foremost, we want to make it clear that the Battle.net and Diablo III servers have not been compromised. In addition, the number of Diablo III players who’ve contacted customer service to report a potential compromise of their personal account has been extremely small. In all of the individual Diablo III-related compromise cases we’ve investigated, none have occurred after a physical Battle.net Authenticator or Battle.net Mobile Authenticator app was attached to the player’s account, and we have yet to find any situation where a Diablo III player's account was accessed outside of “traditional” compromise methods (i.e. someone logging using an account's login email and password).

To that end, we’ve also seen discussions regarding the possibility of account compromises occurring in ways that didn’t involve these “traditional” methods -- for example, by “session spoofing” a player’s identity after he or she joins a public game. Regarding this specific example, we’ve looked into the issue and found no evidence to indicate compromises are occurring in this fashion, and we’ve determined the methods being suggested to do so are technically impossible. However, you have our assurance that we’ll continue to investigate reports such as these and keep you informed of important updates.

The best defense against account theft still includes smart password management (e.g. using a unique password for every site/service and keeping your password to yourself) and scanning for malware and viruses regularly, as well as following additional preventative steps found here. In the end, while no security method is 100% foolproof, the physical Battle.net Authenticator and Battle.net Mobile Authenticator app are great ways to provide your account with an extra layer of protection.

We hope this update has addressed some of the concerns you’ve had. In the end, we simply want all of our players to be able to fully enjoy Diablo III, and we’ve been working around the clock to address issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. We appreciate your continued support and enthusiasm, and we hope you and your friends are having a blast slaying Sanctuary’s demons.

I wonder when the pvp patch eventually comes out how they are going to balance this gearwise. It seems to me that people who spend truckloads of money on the RMAH to get the best and latest gear have a big advantage over people who get gear by farming.

Pretty sure early on they said they aren't going to worry about pvp balance at all because they don't want to detract from the actual game. I believe their plan is merely for pvp to be a gimmick.

Well ...
there already is a Bashiok enemy and there's Developer Hell to kill the rest of the staff along with a Unique named Jay Wilson

Man, the auction house was awesome this morning. Bought a ton of stuff on the cheap because people were offloading now that the AH is back up. Can't wait to get back home and try them out. :3

I feel like a sucker, but gotta have my D3 swag. Hope it's a nice mousepad.

I've a World of Tanks mousepad made by some German company using an aluminum surface that never wears out: http://translate.google.com/transla...s/de/gaming-mousepads/produkte/gamer-pro.html

Incredible piece of kit, and the WoT art is pretty decent too. In other words, never feel ashamed for spending money on an awesome mouse mat, it's just as important as the mouse and keyboard.

Yeah I have only ever had cheapy plastic pads so it felt kind of weird dropping close to $20 on this one, but I'm sure it will be much nicer. My logitech G110 and G9x were not super cheap and they were definately worth the cash.

Just finished Nightmare Act IV. Am I ready for hell ? or shall I farm more ?

Definitely, I started Hell with less damage and resists than that. My HP was about the same.

I'm about 3/4 the way through Act 2 now and have about 27k HP and 5500 Damage... I'm a Witch Doctor though so I'm not sure about your build.

Probably, though I like Seize the Initiative instead of Resolve. It doesn't seem to work as well as I'd like and that's even with me spamming everything I can.

Edit: I'd also be prepared to change your build. Personally, I'm not a fan of Seven-Sided Strike either and just get better mileage out of Air Ally for the (rare) bonus Spirit and the damage aura. Your DPS and stats should coast Act 1 Hell.

Beat Nightmare last night and hit 51. Gonna try Hell today and see how it goes but I think it may be time to mess with a new character for a while. Either Barb or DH

You say that you prefer "Seize the Initiative" instead of "Resolve", but I do have Seize the Initiative and not Resolve, did I misunderstood you ?
And yeah, I will try the Air Ally from now on until I get the 7 secs cooldown rune for 7-Sided Strike.

I am very stupid right now.

Edit: And while I do like Air Ally, don't feel compelled to use it if you don't like it in the end. Luckily for Monks, we do have some variety in our slots since we only really have three required ones. I just like set-it-and-forget-it Spirit use so I can freely spam other things.

If you haven't been into Hell yet and those are your stats on Monk, you're very over-farmed as is.

I have a plain one from them, biggest issue I had with mine is it came rolled up and it took awhile to get it to lay flat.

after yesterday's DH hotfix what is everyone's conclusion on the matter.

tbh I don't mind it as much as i thought I would. the change shows just how unnecessarily long it was. as long as you now mix it with tactical advantage passive or the ruin that adds +35% speed ( or both) you're pretty set if you want to use SS

I started hell without around 4k dmg, 11k HP and just about 0 resists. I got my face mauled for a good portion of the first two acts before I gained gear and used the AH smartly. I think around Act 3 I was rocking 24k HP, 10k damage and 45% dodge. I think you'll be fine until you possibly get into late Act 3 and Act 4. Look for a very solid weapon when you get around 54-55, around 300-400 dps will boost your damage up along with other pieces you may have upgraded at the time.

Morning Diablogaf

Any tips for a Monk build for Hell mode?

also waller, frozen, arcane packs in hallways can go fuck themselves.
I used a pure dodge build for hell and managed to be decently successful. By the time I killed diablo I had about 50% dodge with Mantra of Evasion up. Combining that with Transcendence and some spirit generation runes I could spam Mantra of Evasion to heal myself up pretty good through most damage.

That's a fair point. Time will tell. I just hope it doesn't result in a situation where skills are being balanced for pvp rather than the pve.

Yea, its hard to guess what the hell they're gonna do with it. I'm sure they figure something out thats better than d2's system though, that I'm pretty confident of.

There were bots controlling the commodities on the AH, this is why the RMAH will not be online for some time and why that part of the AH is down now.

Sooo much fun with Naito + he gave me an awesome chest :3 You should post more often Naito-kuuuuuun! ♥

Haha my buddy and I were just talking about this in regards to dropping items on the ground to block mobs. This is going to get patched ASAP.

Tal Rasha's already doing it's work! Or it's just my lucky day.

Not sure if I actually want to identify it. That's always followed with disappointment.

Also screw the Butcher. May as well roll a dice to progress to the next act.

I am thinking of farming Act 1 Hell with 100%+ GF and then hitting up the Auction House.

THAT IS NOT GOOD BLIZZARD. THAT IS NOT GOOD.

Once RMAH opens, all the good items are gonna move there. AND PEOPLE WILL BE COMPELLED TO SPEND MONEY TO GET BETTER GEAR OR SPEND HOURS/DAYS/YEARS TO GET SUITABLE GEAR.

I know I will. As long as the price is right and not as fucked as it is with in-game currency I'm willing to toss some money for weapons and items. No way in hell I'm going spend farming hours and hours upon end just to make 2 mil to blow it on a decent one hander, fuck that shit.

I'm trying to learn to deal with it more.

I think a better solution would have been to not touch the duration of the skill and just add some cool down so that I can't be Perma-spammed.

I used to use it in situations where a projectile or something was about to hit me and I wouldn't have to stop my assault. Too often than not now I go to use it in this manner and it wears off before the hit I was trying to avoid connects. I'm sure with time I can adjust, but right now I sure am dying a lot.

Any tips for a Monk build for Hell mode?

Get some good equipment (~1000+ DEX, ~15k+ HP, ~100+ Resists or just stack one resist for One With Everything use). When I was soloing through the end bits of Hell, I was running:

Fist of Thunder > Quickening: I still have >20% Crit so it's better than Way of the Hundred Fist + Spirited Salvo for my Spirit Generation. Use whichever is better to keep your Spirit flowing. Crippling Wave + Concussion is worth thinking about possibly but this build (all Monk builds?) is Spirit starved.

Sweeping Wind > Inner Storm: Honestly? Not as useful as I figured but it helps during those lulls in combat and/or fucking Shielding or Invulnerable Minions. Sweeping Wind is still good, though, just not sure on the Inner Storm part when I can get some +Spirit Regen from equipment.

Mantra of Healing > Circular Breathing: Do not underestimate the value of starting every fight with full Spirit (or at least enough to use a few abilities). If you can get a good +2-3 Spirit Regeneration without this, definitely go for +VIT or Resist rune, whichever gives you more survivability.

Mystic Ally > Air Ally: Adds some good damage and the 2% Chance for +100 Spirit isn't the worst thing in the world. Earth adds general survivability if you'd rather have that instead of the chance of +100 Spirit.

Wave of Light > Explosive Light: This is what I settled on eventually for my damaging Spirit spam and I quite like it. Really useful in that it requires no aiming and does really good damage. The best part? Knockback on everything around you. Great when soloing.

Serenity > Ascension: Eventually this may be changed. Maybe. Eventually. Someday. Probably never.

Passives are Seize the Initiative, Transcendence, and Guardian's Path. I use a 2H Staff with around 1.5 Attacks per second total with all my IAS? Works out pretty well. Some issue when I hit a weird streak of no Spirit somehow (Shielding/Invulnerable, for instance) but otherwise pretty easy so far. That said, I did have a ~380 DPS Staff with 24k HP and ~110-150 for my resists for most of Hell.

Does anyone else think the real money auction house is going to really hurt the current auction house?

Does anyone else think the real money auction house is going to really hurt the current auction house?

Maybe for a small time, but once people realize that only the Grade AAA+ Items sell on the RMAH people will start putting more towards the regular AH.

Does anyone else think the real money auction house is going to really hurt the current auction house?

Considering that the gold auction house is the only auction house right now, there is no way adding the RMAH isn't going to negatively impact it. The question isn't whether or not it will hurt the gold auction house, the question is how badly will it hurt the gold auction house.
