Does PS Vita exist / Lack of Vita games at E3

So AC Liberation, Vita COD, PS1 support and new apps announced at the event means it doesn't exist. This blind Vita hate is pathetic and I don't even care for handheld gaming.

Its not blind hate, its disappointment. They didnt go into how PS1 support would work, didnt show anything for Vita Black Ops, and only a few quick seconds for AC. Could have at least done a demo roll of what to expect from vita to finish out 2012.

All of the people commenting either have a Vita or want a reason to get one. And why just give a vague Summer? That could be near the end of September...and maybe just a small handful of games at that.

Just think how a demo reel showing whats releasing from now till fall would have gotten people up, maybe with a few unknown releases sprinkled in here and there.

Reannouncing CoD Vita, and not showing ANYTHING with less than 7 months to release does not bode well at all.

In all likelihood, it's gonna be crap, shoveled out by a C-Tier developer.

No word on Bioshock Vita also a big disappointment, though it was only mentioned in passing last year, and with Infinite delayed to 2013, kind of to be expected.

I was about to say Call of Duty and Assassins Creed are gonna be two huge games for this holiday...

But those are friggin' third party games. I can't believe Sony didn't bring out the first party guns for Vita aside from PSBRAUSBSBAB.

I don't regret my purchase, and I have enough games to look forward to, but my gawd man. Awful showing.

MS has the exclusive on E3 Stage Demos for all COD games until 2013. So that's why.

Though if we don't get one piece of media before E3 is over, well, maybe that's not totally the reason.

I dunno man it just seems like you guys are expecting the galaxy on the system. Set realistic expectations.
I expected more than 2 games and a logo.
I guess I'm crazy, I expected to be caring about a few more Vita games than just Gravity Rush for the future.

Oh man, I'm just really disappointed in the showing.
Oh well.

Blind hate? Are you kidding? Aren't you supposed to have a push when you put out a new system? You know, make exciting announcements, release games, get peoples attention? 2 console spin offs and 15 year old ports does not count.

Not getting Vita till Xmas and games like Gravity and SS already sold me on the system, and nowing it will have support for PS1 titles as well as interesting games like AC Liberations, you know what Im fine with the system.

Sony just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Gaming culture (I'm an expert), but games are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in Japan where you can become successful by being moe. If you screw someone over in America, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is that Gamers, after hearing about this, are not going to want to purchase The PS Vita nor will they purchase any other piece of Sony's hardware. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Sony has alienated an entire market with this conference.

Sony, publicly apologize and uncancel the Vita or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Fixed?

Holy fuck, the wonderbook thing at the end is gold, jerry gold!

You guys realize theres still 3 days of E3 left yea? They can't put everything in their press conference.

Yet they found twenty minutes for their shitty wonderbook and mobile junk. Apparently that was more important than raising interest for a system struggling to stay alive?

Funny how they don't market Gravity Rush, but all of the console-to-handheld titles and ports.

Its like I predicted a year ago. The system is essentially Sony's Sega Saturn.

I don't see a Panzer Dragoon Saga, Dragon Force, or a Shining Force III coming to the platform ever. It's no Saturn. At least its Japanese support was kick ass.

Vita is more like a 3DO. Too expensive, no interest, no games.

Again, where is the first party attempts? It's not like Nintendo gets great Western 3rd party support- but they support the hell out of their portable.

And they have already announced first-party games they could have pushed with new footage and gameplay demonstrations.

But they didn't even do that.

BOTH games were announced last year - they announced zero Vita titles at their conference. Apps mean shit to me.

You think I want to hate the Vita? I was hoping they'd knock it out of the park so I could justify buying one. My money was in my hand, waiting. And Sony dropped the ball.

Wasn't the announcement of Battle Royale being available on PS Vita and having cross play with the PS3 version a big announcement for the handheld?

3DO had Star Control 2 and Return Fire.

Vita is the Tapwave Zodiac. Never heard of a Tapwave Zodiac? Exactly.

The conference was disappointing purely from a Vita perspective, but keep in mind that this isn't the entire show. I'd like to see what they have on the show floor as well.

smh i was hoping Jack would say PS1 games would be available tomorrow on Vita.

he said "summer" :/

Yeah, I was hoping that he'd say "tomorrow" as well.

really depressing as a vita owner. i'm genuinely enthusiastic about the platform, but they did nothing that was indicative of a company with any passion or sense of urgency. i'm not selling my vita, but yeah. shitty conference for vita.

I really, really hate giving in to the "Sony am doomed" mentality...but goddamn.

They're torpedoing Vita worse than Disney did with John Bomba for Christ's sake.

So basically the Vita version of Bioshock is like the PSPs version of Resident Evil right?

How could this have happened? I thought SCE learned from the past?

Once a vita is $200 with a 32gb stick then I'll buy one. Nothing impressive at the conference, I would just get one so I could play psOne games on it.

Crickey, I have no idea what Sony was thinking with their treatment of the Vita at E3. It's great that there's a new Assassin's Creed bundle but that's only going to be in October. Assassin's Creed can't hold the line alone...

I dunno man it just seems like you guys are expecting the galaxy on the system. Set realistic expectations.

My realistic expectations is that Sony would highlight games for its new portable 4 months after its release. After its initial struggle, you would expect them to throw buckets of money at any developer to get them to design a game for it.

Now we are approaching PS4 launch period where every major 3rd party is moving into next gen development and will not help Sony keep alive a system they themselves are not supporting.

No, that was not my expectation.
