Regarding lack of EA Sports games on Wii U, just had a really funny thought. What if EA was pushing Nintendo to make Origin their online game provider (e.g. EA president at last year's E3 talking about Wii U online infrastructure), Nintendo decided to stay with the Wild West option (i.e. everyone do their own thing for online play), so EA withheld the sports titles in retaliation. Hard to imagine such a large third-party publisher "taking their ball and going home" when they don't get their way, but that'd certainly explain the turnaround from EA being at last year's conference to only ME3 being on Wii U for launch. The Xbox Smart Glass play-calling seems like a perfect fit for Wii U's pad, for example.

Wow. People really need to keep their hype meters serviced regularly. Some people expectation were apparently through the roof for this.
Can't believe people are offended by this.
And the fact they forget E3 is A WEEK LONG AND NOT JUST AN HOUR LONG CONFERENCE!
For a console that's planning on launching this holiday that was poor showing. Go back and watch how awesome their 2006 E3 conference was.
Didn't realize having Mario Galaxy, Excite Truck, Metroid Prime 3, and SSBB at E3 is considered not amazing.Honestly, I watched the 2006 conference a month or so ago. I don't understand what people are saying. It wasn't that amazing.
Yea, something must have happened. The controller has a ton of different uses for sports games which would be awesome. I can just imagine Fifa with this thing, changing formation on the fly, drawing runs etc. Dammit EA, I WANT FIFA!!I doubt that, but something had to happen behind the scenes.

I...I can't believe this has happened.
Do you know what I was thinking in my head when E3 started for me?
Reggie was on stage, revealing Retro's game. We see a city, a regular day for the citizens. The crowd notices that the city looks very similar. Then we see a child in bed, we see him getting dressed, the crowd gasps and cheers when the boy reveals himself to be none other than Ness. The title screen pops up, revealing the game's title: "Earthbound HD". The trailer then shows the battle system, the classic humor, and at the end, we get a glimpse of a new, HD re-glorified Giygas. The crowd then goes wild.
But in the end, it was all just a simple pipe dream.![]()
Honestly, I watched the 2006 conference a month or so ago. I don't understand what people are saying. It wasn't that amazing.

Oh, my bad sorry. Didn't realize 3 seconds of gameplay at an hour conference was amazing.
I don't remember Brawl at the conference, oh yeah because there is more to that E3 than the show. Most positive impressions for the Wii came from the showfloor and that's what I'm waiting for with this E3.

Well thank god for that, I need my Fifa fix. But when, I'm guessing Fifa 13 won't release at the same time as on the other systems?FIFA was confirmed in a Eurogamer article a few weeks ago. It is just weird.
Yeah, it's better than showing a game called Nintendoland as a closer. I would take a fucking screenshot of the next Mario 3D title over 10 mins of that piece of shit.
Oh you've played it? Please do tell me your impressions.

It's a mini game collection! It could be the best mini game in history, it is still nothing to interest 90% of this board.

No need to have played it to realize it's waste of time. You enjoy your casualfest of minigames. Keep those goggles on, they do suit you.
Their one event to relaunch the console featured almost no new games (Pikmin, ZombiU and Scribblenauts exempt). As great as we all know NSMBU will be, it can only do so much with that style, and it does nothing to show us what Wii-U can do and what it's all about.
It was all ports and expansion packs to PS3/360 releases and last years tech demos given new names. No EA sports or the yearly EA/Activision shooters? That shit is flat out worrying. If that was your expectation for a console re-unveiling, your expectation for a console launching this year, then I don't think its us who need to check our expectations for being too high, its you for having them so low.
I'll take it all back if they announce anything good during the rest of the week.
Lol, I just didn't end up disappointed because I kept my hype levels in check. I was expecting Pikmin 3, and maybe a possible look at Retro's new title. That's it.
This dev roundtable - when is it?

Never said the conference was good, I just find it hilarious how people are getting their knickers in a right twist over this. If by the end of the week the WiiU hasn't shown something truly impressive (i.e. don't make nice looking backdrops in Mario Bros be the highlight) then I'll say that Nintendo completely failed with this E3 in regard to the WiiU.
Also I only ever really get hyped for something during the run up to launch so they technically have till the end of this year to truly wow me.

Is it being streamed or just live blogged?
Is anyone making a thread for Nintendo Wii U Developer Discussion? Its only like half an hour away.
Think, Zelda OoT 3D at the e3 reveal.Help me out- other than Smash in 2006, when has Nintendo released a surprise trailer after their E3 press conference?
Doesn't mention a 2:30 and a 9:00 roundtable.Developer discussion with Wii U hardware producer Katsuya Eguchi

Yeah, although they had a bad conference, it doesn't mean that the console will be a flop. I didn't really see anything that spelled dead-on-arrival for it, at least not from the conference video.Never said the conference was good, I just find it hilarious how people are getting their knickers in a right twist over this. Hold on. This is from the FAQ thread:
