Not really, that has to be one of the stupidest justifications for something I've seen in a while. I guess we'll see how long it lasts me when I get my hands on it but I consider 4-6 hours to be pretty short. I'm sure I'll play the permadeath mode but it's not new content, it's just a spin on content I've already experienced.

i feel like this kind of game gets REALLY repetitive if it's more than 4-6 hours anyway.

I feel the same. This is NOT the kind of game you wanna play for 10 hours. People should grow some brain.

Would be nice a mission mode like Ninja Gaiden Black.
 
Pre-ordered from Amazon when the price was $45, but a friend of mine managed to snag a copy early. He's telling me that I'm going to love it, we're both pretty big Sude51 fans and he's telling me this is the most over-the-top and funniest game they've ever made, as well as the gameplay is surprisingly varied and fun with a lot of replayability. Just a few more days to go...
 
Question?

This game looks awesome, but does anybody know if it's going to be laid out similar to No More Heroes, where you have to basically do a bunch of fetch quests and extraneous stuff before you can actually do the main game parts? Or is this going to be more of a fun straight linear romp?
 
Well after seeing the character of the game... this game is clearly not for me since ive got a girlfriend since 6 years and im not a virgin anymore.
Its really unoriginal the fact that the girl is blonde with blue eyes and some oversized boobies. Maybe im just tired of this kind of "xxx heard in" crap from Japenese games... I dont know.

The market really is flooded with these titles, I'm not sure what happened to this generation of protagonists. I don't even remember the last time I played a male character.
 
4-5 hours sounds perfect. Seems like the focus is on replayability, which has always been more important to me than length. If I play this at least three times, it already takes more time than most action games, that I woud play only once. I never really get the argument, that a 60 $ game can't be that short. I guess you never play shoot 'em ups either.
 
Is that shiro costume available for both versions? Or is it some sort of international deal?

Hard is unlocked off the bat. You can choose in the main menu before starting and mid-game in the map selections.

I'm getting four copies all up, two PAL releases locally for each system and two premium editions from Japan. I can afford to do this because I am not a virgin but I don't tell the clingy females my home address.

I'm so, so torn right now. I preordered it when it was $45, but I'm slightly tight on cash. Like, I could buy it and be fine, but without it, I'd be just a little more comfortable.

But I really want it. And who knows how long it'll take to drop down to $45 again from $60, or even lower. I'm sure it will (which is terrible) but it looks and sounds so fun.

Plus the preorder costumes. Rockabilly ;__;

This is like my last chance to cancel my preorder too. I'm sure it'll ship out at any moment since it's supposed to arrive on Tuesday.

Edit: Well I changed the address it's being shipped to and that killed my release-date delivery, so I may have a little more time to make up my mind. Since it was such a huge pain in the ass to re-enter all my payment and shipping and billing info, though, I may just say 'fuck it' and keep the pre-order. It'll get here on Friday, and I have Friday off, so I'd at least get to play it instead of having it sit at home while I'm at work.
 
Is it possible that this game can actually sell better than Shadows of the Damned and No More Heroes 2 ? It does star a spunky cheerleader after all!

I think it will sell better also since it has to be the best advertised Suda51 title. How well though, I cannot predict.

Anyway, I broke in a little and decided to listen to a bit of the game's soundtrack before my copy gets here, and all I can say is that the music is catchy as hell from what I heard.

So where's all the "replayability" people have been talking about. I'm assuming after very hard you'll unlock the permadeath mode and then just clearing up unlocks like abilities and costumes. Apart from that is there stuff like secrets to find/unlock, were you able to unlock all of the abilities on the first play-through?
 
Scoring system is great imo. I've only bought and unlocked 3 costumes and there are many combos, concept arts left to buy. I didn't found all lolis (lol) and only got "C" and "D"- Rankings for the levels.

+ new difficulties
+ there's a special mode just for highscores (the same levels though)

so there's still a lot stuff to find

Thanks for all the impressions, was just about to ask if there are (m)any unlockables. Seems like I found the perfect game to waste my time with until the new Onechenbara finally gets released here. 4-5 sounds perfect for many, maaany playthroughs.
 
Oh wow "highscore-mode" contains 3 modes: Highscore, Time and Medals (don't know the exact names for the Us/UK version, just translated the german words).

there really is enough to do.

edit: Yeah you can skip cutscenes! :D

hehe you can choose six of 50 (!!!) songs and put them in a playlist so that you can hear them while playing a level. of course you have to unlock some of them.

hearing "you spin me round" while killing zombies=priceless :d
