I sure you would have to go to your game settings in your PS3 XMB menu. And choose Full screen.

its not going to look as good as a game that is installed on your VITA though, or at least I would think.

I've tried that already, but still not full screen :( I think I've seen Here on GAF games played via remote play at full screen, but maybe I'm wrong.

you know i was just watching bonus round re the sony conference ...and it hit me why the E3 vita presence seems flat .... EA.

EA did the same thing last year ... dead silent on vita ..and at that point i wasn't really sold on the thing. but then right at the end ... oh yea ..fifa will be there at launch.

i preordered a vita the moment i saw the first video of fifa on vita.

but imagine the sony conference with a live demo of madden or fifa 13 ..hell EA rolled out those games for the MS conference, with voice commands etc.

if we had seen either or both of madden or fifa 13 vita on stage, with cross playform play? ... hell even with cross playform ultimate team modes ... that would have been killer.

and no one would be talking about vita having a bad show.

bummer re timing i guess. but yeh maybe a bummer vita hype swings on the support of some one like EA ..but hey ..both madden and fifa are those types of titles

I feel like I'm the only one that did not immensely enjoy the Gravity Rush demo. It was alright but I'm certainly not pumped for it like some people here seem to be.

I am looking what great games the 3ds have and its only 1 year on the market, i wish we will see that amount of great games after 1 year, an exclusive Resident evil game and something like kid icarus will be great.

Lets hope Soul Sacrifice wont disappoint.

You shouldn't expect an exclusive anything from Capcom on this platform.

Yeah, I thought the demo wasn't THAT amazing but I did really like the gravity gameplay and can see the full game being worth some of the hype. Also, the game's resolution was distracting. It looked pretty washed out. Not sure if it's due to the resolution or something else?

*played the Japanese demo.

Lumnies worth it for $36? The demo was fun but does the game get a bit tiring after a while?

I don't think it ever really gets tiring. I don't play it often but when I do I can easily drop a few hours into it. It's one of those games that I don't necessarily play for weeks on end but I keep going back to.

I paid £35 for it and I am still happy with the purchase so yes $36 is a good price.

I bought it on Amazon for £22 a couple weeks back, I love it. It's really fun and the different game modes offer a challenge. Master mode is insanely difficult, 5 levels and I can't get past level 2.

Cookie is right, you can keep going back because of the music and the playlists you can make.

I played it the other morning and before I realised on and off during the day I put 3 hours in to it.

The sub-rez seems to annoy me more in GR than Uncharted, for whatever reason. I think it's because Golden Abyss is visually very busy, so I never really stop to notice how badly the resolution represents the game. Gravity Rush, however, had a lot less going on so the pop-in + sub rez really stood out for me. I also was taking time to look around more, like panning the camera to face Kat, for instance (which was jarring).

I think so too. I think it might be more distracting with GR because of the style it's going for, the comic book style or cell shaded look. Cell shaded games tend to be at their best when they're very sharp and vibrant. GR is vibrant but the style it's going for is not coming out well because of the resolution. JSR looks pretty impressive and does it better on the Vita, not sure if it's native res?

The music has to be commented though, it sounded pretty amazing based on the demo. It's definitely going to be a day one purchase.

What's up with the PSN Store offering E3 trailers for vita games, then when I download them on my Vita it says they're not compatible when I go to run them. That's a bit of a tease. Why offer them on the Vita's store if they don't work?

I think you have to download the SD version. I haven't tried myself.

They should hide the HD versions on the Vita store. Those definitely won't play on a Vita right now.

Demoes usually don't impress me. GR demo confused me because of the gravity control. Took some time to get use to it. I really like the art direction, and the ideas in the game though. The story seems interesting too. Will be getting it day 1 anyhow.

As lots of new people getting Vita:

Which memory card should you buy?

- No Memory Card: Not even an option. Unless you are buying this thing for one game which doesn't save on memory card.
- 4 GB: If you go full physical, try some demos, get some mini games digital.
- 8 GB: If you go mainly physical, maybe one full digital game on memory cart, mini games, some PSP stuff.
- 16 GB: If you go mainly digital, full games, mini games, PSP games, some music & videos may need some rotation.
- 32 GB: If you go full digital, full/mini/PSP games, music & videos, pull stuff like "disgaea collection, persona collection, final fantasy 1-10 collection"

I've got some Vita advice.

No matter how starved for games you are, don't buy Resistance.

I disagree completely. I know the reviews agree with you, but I am playing through Resistance right now and I seriously do not get the harsh criticism the game is getting. I have actually been impressed by the graphics at some points, the story is about average for FPS (which typically have ho-hum stories), the weapons are more unique and fun to use then most of the big name FPS's (except for the tinny sound effects). As for the length of the game, it's longer then I expected. I think if you like shooters in the vein of Killzone, Gears, and Resistance it's worth checking out.

Totally agree with you, i really enjoyed my time with it

Yeah, it's pretty good. Just has some glaring flaws that I can't believe got through, like the horrendous audio and video compression. Gameplay is good, graphics are pretty good (especially the lighting, which is some ways better than the console Resistance games), and story is okay.

It's a shame that the many generations of relatively underpowered handhelds have created the perception that handheld gaming is somehow inferior to console gaming, when, in many ways, and thanks to hardware like the Vita, that's not the case.

As it stands, the Vita can produce a broad variety of games. From small, to large. With the added analog stick, there is now no compromising creating quality games on a handheld.

Sure, you may have to make some graphical adjustments, but just look at Uncharted Vita, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, PBR, and quite a few others. Visually, they are looking to be in the same ballpark of their console brothers (with PBR on the Vita looking really, really close to the PS3 version).

It's now possible to have a proper Elder Scrolls, or Fallout, or Mass Effect on a handheld.

It's not just the wide variety of games you can take with Vita.

It's surprisingly satisfying to be able to jump into the games quickly. The small games load quickly, and I leave the big games "minimized" so that I can resume anytime. Plus I can check Twitter, read GAF, listen to music anytime I want, without leaving the bed. ^_^

For the next few firmware updates, I hope Sony improve the following areas further:

* Ability to snapshot running games onto the memcard so that I can switch between any number of apps and games without ever to reload them.

* Improve WebKit browser further to support cut-n-paste, find words on the current page, better screen update algorithm. Can't wait for YouTube support too.

* Lock device so that no one can access my content without a pin or password.

If they push for Cross-Controlling, I hope they go beyond WiiU's living room controls. They should integrate PS3 and Vita tighter across unreliable networks too.

My kid's bedroom has weak WiFi, I would want to be able to take contents and play there too, even when the network got disconnected from time to time. Right now, some games can be played on Vita standalone but when a network is detected, they can post scores, exchange game items, etc. A full range of network actions should be supported, all the way to LBP2 style cross-play.

I've been playing Disgaea 3 and under 2 hours in I got to the credits. I figured it was some sort of joke but now I'm back to the start.

What's going on?

lololol

post game is 90%. Go talk to the gentleman down the stairs by weapons zombie also you get a bunch of missions from butler dude

The NA/EU preorder bonus includes Kat's military costume and the accompanying mission packs:

Is it just me or is it kind of lame that we miss out on this stuff by buying the game directly from Sony on PSN? If anything we should be getting the free DLC...

SCEE confirmed those who buy it on PSN will get the DLC. SCEA has run that offer with PSP games in the past, but haven't confirmed it with Gravity Rush.

when you get jammed up.....cause you will....the OT is here.

Great game...I thoroughly enjoyed it

Thanks, I've subscribed to that. I'll have a quick read of it before I delve back in. I have really enjoyed what I have played so far, it was just a little disconcerting to get the credits without really having finished the tutorial.

Edit:
Isn't that the joke ending?

That was my first thought but when it went back to the first 'scene' I wasn't so sure.

Might also help to give rough sizes for digital games. I'm not really an expert here, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

PS1: Typical sizes are about 300MB-400MB per disc. Largest is FFVIII at 1.78GB.

PSP: Typical sizes are about 0.5GB to 1.5GB. Largest is MGS Peace Walker at 1.38GB plus an optional 330MB data install.

PSV: Typical sizes are about 1GB to 3GB. Largest is BlazBlue CSE at 3.33GB, but MGS HD might set a new record.

I think I've seen talk of this, but just want a confirmation:
generally speaking, downloadable versions of the games are more expensive than physical copies from Amazon and the like?

I'd love to stick to digital, but it might just not make great sense.

I am more an RPG/adventure game guy. I do intend to pick up a TPS or FPS shooter. Not sure which one to get yet, Unit 13 or Resistance ?

That could well be true a few weeks or months after release but I think generally (at least in my experience in the UK) if you're buying on day 1 there is almost no difference, perhaps even cheaper on PSN. That was the case for the digital games that I bought during the first week anyway.

It makes perfect sense for me since I tend to lose stuff. Already lost 3 cartridges with a carrying case. With DD, I can always redownload.

The convenience of switching between games effortlessly is nice too.

I could see that being true as well. I'm about to pull the trigger on a VITA and a lot of the games I have interest in like Hot Shots are 19.99 on amazon while 34.99 on the vita store when I look it up on my ps3

Arent usually pre-order DLC stuff made as an thing to make you buy the games at a certain store?

Generally yes, but in this case it seems several retailers are offering the Gravity Rush content (Gamestop and Amazon for sure). But if SCEE is giving it to PSN buyers, I'm sure we'll get it here too so no worries.

I leave Tuesday for Vegas and I would love to have MGS HD on the plane with me, what time should we expect it to be available for Download on PSN?

Given there are games this week maybe as late as 9PM EDT... Lately Grace Chen and friends have been getting them out at 4PM or so.

There are multiple endings and
one of them is triggered by winning one of the initial battles with the overlord. I almost won that fight too but missed the final strike.

I guess you got an alternate ending.

I bought a mix of DD and retail games to balance things out.

EDIT: Then the genius inside me went ahead to lose all but 1 of the retail cartridges. -_-

If you lose the first battle or something... It will take you to "cycle 2" as if you beat the game once already...

This loser right here (me) had it happen

This makes a bunch of sense now. I lost a fight with Beryl and I essentially got a biography of her life from then on. After that it cut to the credits.

Placed my VITA order. Will use the $50 credit to buy the 16gb memory card and Hot Shots since it's so much cheaper with physical. Other games seems close enough to make DD a decent convenience.

I would like to recommend Unit-13. Superb game with dual controls which just feel right, short burst missions and a dynamic setting to play after completion of each mission which gives it legs. I played it through to getting the plat trophy.

Oh and co-op is ace too. Try the demo.

Man, I was severely disapointed by the E3 conference. Really hope Sony steps it up.

I'd honestly be happy if I could just play all my PSOne games right now. That's all I want. This whole roll out of them is just... wtf. Sony is god damned brain dead. The conference was hilarious because it sounded like Tretton was verbally blowing the company for the entire conference.

Regarding minis support, in particular for the free PS Plus ones, I Must Run! and Mad Blocker Alpha now work and are downloadable on Vita.

Anywho, have we had any updates on A) 64 GB memory cards, or B) system update to allow more than 10 home screens, or perhaps folders? I'm down to just over 7 GBs on my 32 GB card, and I'm downloading Gravity Rush this coming Tuesday. I really don't want to start erasing Vita-specific games / apps to make room for other ones.

(Yeah, I went all digital on Vita; so far so good, as long as a bigger memory card is released relatively soon. I'm sure not a great amount of Vita owners are going through these issues, but it's still something that will hopefully be addressed soon).
