Biochem and operatives neck and neck for most nerfs since release. I get the need, especially for the first few nerfs because it was ridiculous...but Jesus, give us something cool at this point since you just keep shitting on us.

I really wish Bioware would give us some concrete information on the status of Purple/Cyan lightsaber crystals (i.e. whether there's still a way to get them for both factions, and if they're still restricted to the PvP/Raiding gear). It's been reported that Purple Expertise crystal schematics come out of Grade 6 PvP boxes, but nothing has been reported about PvE stats or Cyan of any type.

I really wish color crystals were a cosmetic choice only. Let the stats be a separate thing.
 
There are no level 50 PvE schematics for purple crystals at all in game right now, nor are there any green 50 PvP schematics.

I'm enjoying rolling with Magenta :D

Damn I got ripped again for 100k (bought the level31 schematics)... Oh well.

At least I have something different than Orange, Red, and Yellow =)

1.3 just look so.much.worse and I have some things switched to higher than what they would be at in 1.2.

Also, my FPS counter is now RED which means CPU? whereas in 1.2 it was GREEN.

Maybe it's just me, but in 1.3 it looks "darker" and worse than what 1.2 was.

At least the text seems sharper in 1.3.

Maybe enough people complained that the default settings were too bright so they did a rebalance, im sure you could get it looking like 1.2 if you play with the settings a bit.
 
Is there anyway to know which is the correct character copy on the PTS? I have 3 versions, all called random letters.

Just means they did multiple copies of your character and someone on the PTS already has your characters name so you have to rename all 3 of them to get onto the test server.

Test server titles:

The First Line of Defense = Reach level 10 on the PTS
The Cutting Edge = Complete act 1 on the PTS
Strike Team Specialist = Complete 4 group finder OP's / Flashpoints in a day
Strike Team Commander = Complete 8 group finder missions in a week
 
I've got Trevin transferred onto the test server, had to rename him to Turin though. I'll take part in some of that group finding later if you guys need another. I'll probably be done running errands around 2-3 EDT.

Hypo-syringe (1)-------------------Crafting Material
Smart Cells (1)---------------------Grade 6 Medical Supply
Immunity Cell Culture (4)---------Grade 6 Biochemical Compound
Neurochemical Extract (4)---------Grade 6 Biochemical Sample
Dioxatrene-11 (1)------------------Grade 6 PVP Crafting Material

The time to make 1 Warzone Adrenal is 25 minutes 10 seconds, not counting max affection and Biochem efficiency bonus.

A Grade 6 Crafting PVP Box which contains a random PVP crafting material costs 1,000 Warzone Commendations.

So it costs, 1,000 Warzone Commendations, plus the expenses of Grade 6 Biochem and Medical Supply materials, to make 1 Warzone Adrenal.


Or you know, you can buy a 100 of them for with those 1,000 Warzone commendations.

PLEASE tell me I'm missing something here. I'd love nothing more than to be wrong in this scenario.

Is that not a reusable one with a cooldown? Aren't they preventing us from using rakata adrenals in pvp but replacing it with that? I really hope I understand that correctly.

It does not mention it being reusable, while every reusable biochem item does.

Hey folks, just wanted to let you all know that the initial list of servers will become available when the Character Transfer Service goes live on Tuesday.

Well, guess Bioware is making this easy for us.
We do have more information about character transfers coming, and we'll post a detailed FAQ that will answer many specific questions. As for being concerned about not being able to transfer to the same server as your son during free transfers, you don't have anything to worry about. Each server that becomes eligible for transfers will have just one destination server, and you'll be able to move all your characters from your origin server to that destination server. We'll announce these servers at the start of the program and then will add more as the program continues (and you'll be able to see all the information on www.swtor.com/transfer starting on the 12th), and we'll make sure to let everyone know what servers are available and when.
 
So don't use all your highest damage abilities often and you won't run out of energy? You don't see that as a problem? I never said you couldn't manage your energy, but doing so comes at the expense of DPS.

You can see what the devs had to say about the changes here.

The abilities that I avoid as a sniper are not the most powerful ones - other than Orbital Strike, which you can still find a good place for here and there if your target will be standing still long enough. I avoid the filler abilities that aren't buffed by my tree and don't offer a good energy to damage efficiency. I have enough space in my rotation to use everything that's buffed by Marksman all the time. It's enough to generally top the damage charts if I'm not bothered too much and don't have to move to chase objectives.

Considering there are maybe 4-5 servers that are Med+, this may not work out too well. You gotta know you're gonna get some stubborn people that aren't going to leave, and this "technically" isn't a merger.

Oh well.

They should do it like Warhammer where when you log on it has a prompt about moving to on of the destination servers, otherwise lot of folks are just not gonna know or bother with moving. It's there fault for not moving but lot of peeps are just not gonna know whats up, so many players are clueless of whats going on with the game.

If they are doing this though imagine they eventually plan on doing forced merges eventually.... hopefully.
 
I can't help but have a bad feeling about the transfers, because it seems like they are attempting to do the opposite of what is needed; instead of consolidating the servers to have fewer, higher population communities, they seem to be focusing on just equally spreading out the playerbase across all of the current servers. I don't see how that can work out.

They are basically doing server mergers without calling them server mergers. Even if it's not forced, they've said there are no immediate plans for there to be a time limit to moving.

The only people getting screwed are guilds and people who will have to change their names.

But they aren't spreading the population, the source servers are not elgible to be transferred too. Essentially the source servers will likely be shut down eventually as most people will be leaving them. They are trying to move the populations to less servers. The issue is that you will have folks who just won't move or bother with it, and resistance to go through the hassle to move guilds.

I believe this would be their next step. Take all the servers that we made able to transfer from and whatever is left just merge it into some other existing servers.

That feels like the next step to me. After these transfers are over there won't be anyone left on those servers except for a small few who never took the option.
 
Anyways, tomorrow we will know for sure if they did the good thing with transfers.

I'm starting to hope that Mindtrick is a destination server; would kill two birds with the same stone (assuming my other dead servers has it as it's destination as well).

A couple of interesting tidbits from this interview with James Ohlen:

- The new planet Makeb has a full games worth of content
- when taking about additional levels (which are presumably coming with Makeb) he said traditionally you get more levels with an expansion but they wanted to do it outside of that so either it'll be part of a free update or maybe it'll have some sort of adventure pack pricing

Obviously I think it would be prudent for them to make it free but it depends on how much other content we see this year and how much is really included with this new planet.
 
Not liking that they still are not sure how the new content is coming price wise. Seriously make it free or just do some kind of promotion when it's released that gives free game time to get folks to come back. Kind of like how EVE gets people to come back by every few months giving them free game/reduced price on multiple months for a short period of time to come back.

I find that to be questionable as hell.

If it's 5 high levels worth of content added, it could be fairly hefty planet, since all the leveling content will probably just be there. But no doubt it would involve a bunch of instancing and not really one big planet, like how Black Hole is not really on Corellia.
 
Obviously I think it would be prudent for them to make it free but it depends on how much other content we see this year and how much is really included with this new planet.

I guess it comes down to what they think will result in an overall bigger revenue. Potential for resubs with free pack is definitely higher than with paid, but if they don't think the potential is all that high to begin with they might actually get better mileage out of charging the people who have been maintaining active subs.

The logic is the press won't be writing stories about "SWTOR Server Merges".

Yeah, there is a lot of ways to spin that. A lot of games these days have less than 15 hours of content. It took me 175 hours to get to 50 and that's only on one faction.

They obviously don't have a merge system in place. They haven't done transfers yet because they were still working on an automated system for it that is deploying soon. While mergers would be ideal, it will probably be some time before then and people want to move now. Other games that have done similar with transfers like this first generally mean that those source servers are going to get forcefully merged and shut down eventually.
 
Cant wait to get off that Keller's void dump!

Seriously hope were a destination server tho, don't want to rename all my characters i've had since early access :(
