Giant Bomb Thread 2: A thread on a popular internet message board

more dedicated GB staff wouldn't hurt but then again giantbomb has been known to slack on the content even when people aren't on vacation.

Will be fun to see if they do anything to fill the summer gaming deadzone. The last few years they didn't and it really showed when they could go a week without any new video outside of TNT, ILM and the happy hour.

That First ER really was great just for daily videos all through the summer.

.

I like GB, but the content isn't great. Sometimes I wonder why they bother going to events as the content either weeks late, and no longer relevant, or nothing appears. e.g. PAX.

E3 isn't bad, but compared to other sites it does lack a bit. Sure it has the bombcasts but any adult with a job finds it hard to fit in 9 hours of recorded shows. I would rather those got trimmed down, and more interviews went online.

yeah the events seem a bit pointless to me.

i bet this week we will get 0 content because uh no games something something e3 something video equipment something mumble.

their lack of planning when it comes to having a constant stream of content gets a bit annoying

They did quick looks of every Vita launch game.

They were still capable of such things at that point though.

I'm disappointed no one has said "so gravity rush is basically as good as Too Human" yet. Also, that 3/5 doesn't = 60% thing turned into my favorite discussion (which ended in an eventual fantastic tag) ever.

Haha, the interns never organized the Youtube channel. If anything, they just made it more of a mess.

There are still episodes of the Fear Gauntlet that were never added to the Fear Gauntlet playlist.

Wow, what a bummer. They had a ton of DLC characters too.

Only other way to get them is to find a copy of the Gold Edition, and you should check the prices for those.

It's pretty sad that we've gotten a shitty new Iron Man game, mediocre Spider-Man games, and some crappy looking Kinect game, but no new MUA or XML. That new MMO is looking pretty exciting, but the fact that Raven isn't working on it is already sending me mixed messages.

There was MUA2.... but let's not speak of that.

Such a wasted opportunity.

Yeah, but that wasn't made by Raven. I know Activision doesn't have the Avengers liscense stuff anymore, but I wonder if they could put out an Xmen Legends HD or XBLA release. I'd buy that.

The Vita launch made sense, they had to cover it, and they had to show off the physical system, and there were talking about the platform in general too. Sony should be providing a way of capturing directfeed, it's not GBs fault.

I did think they'd make an exception for Gravity Rush however, it's the only major original Vita exclusive game this year.

I can't imagine how demoralizing the last few years have been for Raven, after having big layoffs back in 2009 because their Wolverine game didn't sell well (despite being awesome) and being told by Activision to stop whatever the hell they were doing and make maps for Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3.

I'm honestly astonished they're still around, they're one of the few remaining developers around who's name goes back to the early 90's. I hope they can bounce back after Wolfenstein and Singularity both tanked. I took a tour of their studios when I was a sophomore in high school (my dad knew a guy who knew a guy, etc) and they seemed like a cool bunch.

Plus, they're the only prominent game developer based in Wisconsin - my home state - so I've always felt the urge to support them because of that too.

A non trackmania TNT? I DON'T WANT TO LIVE ANYMORE

Brad's breakfast bagel looked good. Though, I was under the impression bagels had a hole in the center. Was that an english muffin or what? That's what I thought it looked like, at least.

It's crazy that they can ask a whole studio to do maps for the next FPS... I mean, sure it's great for the level designers and for artists but wtf are the programmers, the sound guys, the game designers, etc are doing for 1-2 years? That sucks.

What really sucks is that Singularity was actually pretty damn solid. Got it off a Steam sale last summer (so I'm kind of part of the problem) and I ripped through it. Found it pretty damn engaging and interesting. Yes, it's kind of a rip-off of Bioshock, but it does enough interesting things that it's definitely worth playing.

Raven doesn't make great 'CINEMATIC' games, but they make fun as shit gamey games. It's too bad that those don't sell anymore. I think it would be great if WB bought them or something and had them make downloadable Justice League games.

I'd say Raven is lucky to be alive after Singularity bombed. Most devs would have been shuttered. While I thought that game was pretty awful, just about every game they released before it was great.

I think Alex is the only one with any interest at all in the Vita.

From the Pre E3 podcast it seemed like he was the only one that cared about the Vita and I would love to see them allow him to do more reviews so that he isn't only reviewing utter crap.

On the topic of staffing up they also would probably need another video guy because when Vinny or Drew take vacation the amount of content seems to bottleneck at the video editing. I would honestly love for them to be able to get Vinny on more quick looks or start back up with load your last save or random pc game.
