finally got my cheap PSPGo from Grainger Games, was surprised that they honoured the jubilee discount.
as i was banking on this thing is virtually brand new, didn't think anyone would have used one of these enough to cause any damage!
have to say though that this is the cheapest feeling piece of hardware i've ever bought, so plastic and flimsy :/
 
Zavvi bailed on sending the bullet pen you were supposed to get with Max Payne 3 pre-orders since the Royal Mail thought it looked too much like an actual bullet. Can understand that. Don't understand why they never notified customers about it.
I kind of wanted that pen. :\

Seemingly all I can get out of them in terms of compensation is a 10% code that's valid for three months, but not pre-orders. They strictly don't do those at all any longer it appears.

My Vita arrived on Saturday, and yes, it seems in good enough quality. Didn't get a double-discount (while the checkout said the 40% discount, the final confirmation said 20% as expected), but that's still 20% off an already-discounted system, so I won't complain too much for the price I got it for.

I picked up a Move at the same time, and the box for that is in rather scruffier condition, although I've not taken a look at the hardware yet.

Ordered Asuras Wrath and Soul Calibur V (both preowned): the former had no instructions and looked like it had passed through a bear's digestive tract. Soul Calibur V looked fine and had a manual, but the actual disc was for Soul Calibur IV.

Fucking amateurs.

I once had a ps1 disc in a dreamcast box from gamestation back in the day, that lady wasn't working there about a month later.

Places that take in pre-owned games really need to stop giving money to people for games that are not complete.

I bought Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80's in HMV. Took it home, opened it up, realised that it was Guitar Hero 3 in the box. Given that 80's was oldish and 3 was brand new, didn't mind one bit.

Gamestation, back when... y'know... used to have a policy of at least letting you *see* what you're getting when you purchase a preowned title so you were happy with the quality.
 
I don't understand how people lose a manual. Why is it not just in the box all the time unless you read it, after which you put it back? What the hell are people doing with them? It's not even like it could have been misplaced over time, the game's only a few months old.

Come to think of it, I don't know how people fuck disks up either. It's either in the Xbox or in the case. How is that so hard to achieve?

That's a shame, i got the thing with my Max Payne 3 pre-order. It looks surprisingly decent and it isn't made out of plastic, but metal.
 
i bought motorstorm for ps3 from cex once, got home, MS2 disc was in there, great i thought! brand new game instead, shame i hated the game, so i printed off the ms2 cover, and sold it back to them for much profit lol

That reminds me, I used to own klonoa 2 on ps2 but traded in a bunch of ps2 games some time later, a few months down the road I was going over my collection of stuff and had some loose discs, klonoa 2 was there and it was the full game... so what did I put in that dvd case?

Turns out it was the demo disc of the game from a magazine, it looked identical (white disc, logo on it) I had no idea and it was way too late to correct the problem.

I then left the disc a year later with an old housemate when I lived away from home, bah!

Always think this myself. When I used to trade games in at gamestation the guy would always say he was amazed my games were in pristine condition. Why wouldn't they be, like you said.

They just don't appropriate anything in this gimmie gimmie generation.

They can do, they cancelled my MGS HD Collection preorder and then refused to credit me the difference between the preorder and the new price, even though I showed them evidence of them crediting others who'd had their orders cancelled :(

This is pretty much guaranteed to NOT work, but if you're near a HMV it's worth a try. Some fairly new preowned PS3, 360 and Wii games for 1p!

Add To Basket doesn't work. You have to go to the game's product page and choose Click and Collect. Then you can reserve it if they have stock near you.

I've reserved a few and printed off my reservation emails with order numbers, now just to go in on my dinner tomorrow and see if they'll honour the prices. Very unlikely but if you don't try...

Echoing the thanks of others for the Castlevania spot, particularly as earlier this week I almost opted to take my chances with Zavvi at both a higher price and the ever bleak 'usually dispatched within a month' stock status...!
 
not really on topic but has anyone tried amazon's trade-in programme? any idea how long it takes to receive/process? i posted two games on may the 26th & they're still showing up as 'not received'. i'm worried they've been lost in the post forever. boooo.

gonna shoot them an email after 14 days

i think its their prepaid labels, they use 2nd class

I traded in the star fox game on the Game Cube, got home and realized I had infact traded in the starfox game case but the Gold Disc version of Zelda with OoT/Mask on.

Went back the next day and the guy laughed as it was to never be seen again ;(

On the other hand, I just received a despatch email for mine (PS3 version). I guess they did actually have some this morning, but apparently not many.

Guess they didnt notice. Ive also traded in Fable 3, got home and found out my bro never put it in the box and infact they had taken the special extras dvd that looks just like the game.
Never did hear anything about that.. i dont think peopel working the counter really care to be honest.

Then again, I ordered it at 7am, so I wasn't expecting anything less.
 
Is it just me or are none of the Zavvi voucher codes working on their site? Never had a problem until recently and now it won't take anything. Fucking stupid.
 
I've had Amazon's trade-in programme take up to three weeks to deposit the money for it. My Brother sent in about 10 games or so, FFVII was one of them, and they claimed that they received all the games but that one, despite the box still being sealed. It just so happens that FFVII was by far and away the most valuable game there. This Noram group are crooks.

EDIT: Amazon just cancelled my £199 Wii U console order, claiming it was a pricing error.
