Yeah, I made the mistake of drafting Angel's Mercy and plenty of that 1 drop gain 3 life etb dude. Life gaining is just delaying the inevitable.

Yep, or counterspell it while its on the stack. Discard would work too, but rancor is 1 mana lol. If it resolves, it'll come back again and again and again and again, ugh.
Woooow that anjani. 3 mana for 4 loyalty counters, double strike and flying can be used immediately? A useful +1 ability? And that ultimate is pretty nasty too. As if tokens needed more help, M13 seems intent on making them even more nasty.
Anjani starting out at $40 on starcity, not surprised at all. Considering how well he plays with so many other decks right now, G/W, tokens, white humans, boros.

I am so happy Rancor is getting added to Modern. I can start working on a vicious R/G Beatdown deck.
It would just be so fucking hilarious to cast "I'm going to cast "fuck your couch" and exile bob until the end of turn".

And can you pump a creature during the damage stop to make him live or would you have to do it during declaring blockers technically?

Well there isn't a "damage step" anymore. It just all happens at once (unless first strike is involved). Your last chance to affect combat is after blockers are declared. And you can't with Ajani since PW abilities are sorcery speed.

Pretty much the only reason to pre-order is if your playing in a big tournament within a week or 2 of a sets release (like a GP or a PT), cause the pre-order prices are probably going to be better than whatever the dealers jack the cards up to the day before the tournament.
New Ajani is pretty cool. I think its second ability is a little overrated (did Assault Strobe really make any waves in standard outside of Infect?), but that first ability being all upside is awesome, and that ultimate is scary and actually achievable if you play this early enough against a control deck.

Was meaning to pick up Liliana of the Veil months ago, but got sidetracked and forgot about her. Guess I won't be getting her after all.

Goldmane was fantastic at the time. It fit perfectly into Kithkin and WB tokens. Vengeant was a completely different take on him, much better suited to control. New one is neat, curious to see how (if) it'll take off.
I'd love to see that if they ever did another Un- set. Imagine the possibilities with all the stuff that's released since Unhinged.

I hate big turnouts. I made top 8 in standard but it was 11:45pm and the fifth round wasn't even done and then there was a playoff for top 8 and I had to drive an hour to get there. Promo Acidic Slime just wasn't worth it. 
I know my ego is getting to me when I get irritated that I only placed 4th at the latest booster draft. I guess winning two in a row made my head too big.
Prize pack had a sigarda...that makes 6 so far. Plus the girlfriend has pulled 3, a friend has a playset...sigarda is a little tramp, she gets around.
I hate that too. I went to some pre-release months ago that had such a huge turn out and making top 2, I didn't get out of there until about 1 in the morning, at which point I had a 2 and half hour drive home. Considering prize for second was only 8 packs I wasn't sure it was entirely worth it.

8 packs for 2nd place at a pre-release? And at a place you have to drive 2 1/2 hours to and from? Dude, find a better shop to play Magic at. I mean you're losing more money in gas than anything.

Lol. The card name is just so direct and to the point. I'm glad it isn't just a strictly worse Doom Blade (though obviously way harder to splash black for).
I really love this card. It's the first card in the history of Magic that simply reads "Destroy target creature". It's a really elegant card although I wish it costed 2B.

Ya, absolute earliest I would get home is 2 in the morning which would probably instead be between 2 and 3 am and that's if I won my first round to make top 4 and then quit immediately after securing the card and it just wasn't worth it since I already have one promo.

Went to a Friday night magic, came too late though, my friend ended up winning a match with an event deck though
It was my first experience with that, all the older guys seemed cool though so that was nice. Next time I can come, hopefully I can play. I'll probably play with my red white control deck, although if my angel deck gets better I may play that
