Looking back, it's pretty remarkable the heights LOST was able to reach in terms of quality given it was a network show. The way things are shaping it'll most likely go down in history as the last great serialized drama on network TV. Granted I still haven't watched Fringe.

Not as far as I know.
Do you have a source claiming that? I honestly can't remember it being debunked.
Well, I'm not 100% positive either, it's been a while...
This is all I could find:
Was the guy even a writer (you'd expect a professional writer to be somewhat literate, but then again...)? Did he really work for Bad Robot (ABC isn't the same thing, right?)? How much could he possibly know if he'd been gone for three years already at that point?

Either way, there's a lot of complete nonsense in there... Sounds like just another fanboy theory to me.

EDIT: OK, so the guy himself said he wasn't a writer:
... and also this (emphasis mine):

EDITFORTHELASTTIMEHOPEFULLY: Looks like that was Greg Ernstrom, production assistant intern. Couldn't find any Lost credits.

Hmm, I never saw that thanks.

Regardless, I'm on the train of thought that their original idea was that they all died in the crash and that the show was about them getting some sort of redemption from their past lives and then moving on. Getting over one final hurdle and then dying on the island (moving on).

When fans figured it out (day one), they changed it up...but they always intended on having Jack close his eye to end it, and they always intended on ending in a church where these characters move on together.

I'd say that season 3 is the better finale the shows done. Lost really does a fantastic job in ending each season in a spectacular fashion. THough we did get desmond/penny in s4 finale, that was well done.

Them going to the radio tower, the others attacking, Charlie on the dharma station, jacks flashfowards, hurley saving the day, jack beating the shit out of ben, Alex and Danielle meeting.

In terms of finale I'd say 3>4>1>6>5>2

The finales were all great, i'm not saying 2 is the worst but the least....eventful I guess. God damn, I miss this show.

Shit, now I'm torn. Like you said, the finales are all amazing, I'd exclude S5's from that list though. I didn't like it as much as the other ones.

S2's is one of my favorites... all the hatch stuff and the reveal of how the plane crashed was fantastic.
This is one of my favorite scenes of the entire show:

It's a magical feeling when this thread gets bumped.

That clip someone just posted with Michael is making me really want to go back through the series.

I'm up to episode 13 or so on Season 5. Ever since Season 4 I just wanted to stop watching. It got terribad. I'm going to push through though.

Oh yeah, that moment is great. But htis

Everything about the flashback was eery, something was clearly off and there were some decent hints placed around to show its in present day but when I saw Kate. I lost my shit, my mind was literally blown.

Oh yeah. The flashforward reveal was groundbreaking. It's probably Lost's most shocking moment... I think everyone was saying 'the final scene of the season will happen on Jack's flashback?... I'm already dissapointed.'

I remember my friend watching it late at night, he was really sleepy, and even after seeing Kate, he still thought it was a flashback, and found it lame that they had met before crashing on the island. LMAO

Just decided on a whim to rewatch season 5. This is compelling television, how could anyone not like this?
It kind of ended up being my least favorite season on rematch back in the day. The first half of the season has no thematic narrative binding the stories, they're just shuffling pieces on the chess board. Great great first watch, not as tight on rewatch.

I'm having so much fun re-watching the fifth season. I was really wrong when I thought the time travel plotline was what started to ruin the show. It actually got us many brilliant and surprising moments.

I guess only the last season is the genuinely mediocre one.

I wish you would've believed me.

Man, the bluray is still pretty expensive for this eh? Just got a bluray player and I always said almost would be the first purchase, but Deadwood was a way better deal at the time and I needed something new to watch.

Halfway through Season 6 now. Thanks God it's better than the last 2 shitfest seasons. I'm actually watching it now because I want to.

Our protagonist Jack started out as a man of Science, and he saved the world after he learned to balance his beliefs with his newfound Faith in the Island
I stopped reading here, this guy and Lost's writers have no clue as to what a man of science really is.

Most of the answers are pretty shitty. It's either magic or airplane food. The writer answers a question by saying that it wasn't a question.

Started rewatching the whole series because of my girlfriend's suggestion we should watch it. She's never seen it before. By god i'm jealous of her.

It's not just the episodes though- I wish I could relive the weekly podcasts, the internet hype, the fake spoilers, the casting announcements etc. Mid-way through Season 2 atm though and all going good.

She like it?

She like it?

So far. She sold me on Doctor Who originally so she's enjoying this too. I was worried the appearance of the monster or the hatch contents would scare her off, but she's taken them much better than I did when I was watching live.

She's interested in different characters than I was too- particularly Michael. I can't see what happens when we reach that episode in Season 2 .

You should totally set up a webcam and record her reaction. :D

Where are the last 3 threads for Season 6? I like reading the threads after watching some of the episodes to see how the reactions were, but the finale of Season 6 isn't there?

No comparison for me, S6 is absolutely the worst one. But it still has some great episodes. (Richard-centric, Desmond-centric, Hurley-centric and The Candidate are one of my favorites).

People should read further into that 108 Answers.

He shouldn't have put that magic question so upfront. But past that, it's well explained for a lot of it. And well 'guessed' at for others.
